Kasyapa took eight of Daksa’s daughters as his wives. It is known from other sources that Daksa gave his ten daughters to Kasyapa. How? It should be understood as he gave eight at one time or eight is mentioned as an approximation or it happened so in the Vaivasvata Manvantara.
Aditi, Diti and Kalika, the three wives of Kasypa, were devoted to their husband. Of them Aditi was extremely devoted and other wives were not.
Adityam and other gods were born from Aditi’s womb. Vinata was the grand daughter of Suki. Kadru was the daughter-in-law of Surasa. Even though Vinata was talked about earlier, her mention here is to tell the narrator’s own lineage. Mention of Kadru is for telling about her descendents. It should be understood that this process of creation is related to the Vaivasvata Manvantara.
Syeni and Suki were the daughters of Tamra. How is it possible for Jatayu to be the son of Syeni? How can Syeni be Aruna’s son? This Syeni could be another that was born in the family line of the Syeni described earlier. So there is no mistake in the descripition. Or, the rules and regulations of marriage are promulgated for human beings only, (not for other species).
