However, the underlying meaning of the two slokas (tasyascanrjuvrttayah etc) is as follows: Since Laksmana cut off my ears and nose, I do not like to drink their foaming blood. If something is done to them in the war, it will be harmful to me. If you neglect even after seeing me with these ears and nose chipped off, I shall throw away my body by fasting.
