Sita drops her ornaments 3.54.2-6

With the hope that the monkeys would tell Rama, Sita dropped her ornaments near the monkeys. Ravana did not observe the dropping of the ornaments because his mind was agitated by the guilt of kidnapping Sita and also because his heads were bent by the weight.


Real meaning in abduction of Sita 3.54.10-13


The real meaning is, even though enmity with Rama appears like a cause of disaster from the viewpoint of the world, Ravana was happy because his death at the hands of Rama was the most desirable thing for him, and it was imminent on account of Sita’s abduction.
