Sita held a blade of grass between her and Ravana and spoke to Ravana in order to avoid the blemish of speaking to a sinful man directly.


3.56.24-25


The meaning of Ravana fixing the time for Sita is that he would wait for twelve months and if Sita did not agree then the cooks will cut him into pieces for the eagles etc., which reside in various directions, by his own orders.


Ravana instructs demons to propitiate Sita 3.56.27- 35


Ravana who makes enemies cry (Satruravanah) tells the guarding demons to get rid of the pride of Sita: “You should take her into your confidence without any threats you should do so only with propitiating words.”

These slokas (33-35) satusokaparitangi etc. appear to be like the wailings of goddess Sita.It should be understood that they have been presented only in accordance with the way of the ordinary world.
