Power of Fire god 5.54.17-23

Even though Agni, the god of fire, was first afraid of Ravana, he burnt the city without any hesitation because he had contact with the power of Sita. The idea (of sloka) is that fire and wind were afraid of Ravana before. But they understood about the deterioration of the power of rakshasas and the rise of the power of the gods was very near. Hence they had no hesitation (in doing their duty). Since the wind started spreading the fire in all houses, the houses kept falling down. The fire rose from the peak of the Trikuta mountain, which was the support of Lanka from there it spread to all houses. It had fantastic speed and power. The fire was linking the sky. Its flames thrived with the fat of the bodies of the rakshasas.
The fire started by Hanuman spread up to the sky and its flames shone like the Kimsaka flowers. It produced harsh sounds resembling thunderbolts and encircled the entire city of Lanka. It shone like the annihilation fire that shatters the universe. Rows of clouds were shining with smoke that was rising from the burnt houses even when the fire had subsided. Prahasta wondered ‘whether it was Mahendra, the king of gods, who carries the weapon Vajra! Or if it is the fire of the third eye of Rudra or if it is the power of Visnu, which has no limitations, which is invisible to some organs, which is not the object of the mind and which is ‘one’ without a second. Has it taken the form of a monkey with its magical nature for the destruction of the rakshasas?’ The most powerful Prahasta etc. thus spoke observing Hanuman. At the end of it all Hanuman extinguished the fire on his tail.
