Vibhishana tells Ravana that Hanuman is engaged in carrying out the mission that he has undertaken and that Ravana’s efforts will be futile. The commentator refers to Tirtha’s comment that states ‘defacing the messenger by means of punishment is suggested’ by Vibhishana.
