Jabali argues with Rama 2.108.1-end

One is born alone and dies alone. No relationship is permanent on this planet earth. Worry not about them.
People have taken to the performance of shraddha especially on the seventh, eighth and ninth days of the dark fortnights of lunar months of Pausha, Magha and Phalguna under the impression that they gratify the manes. It is a wanton waste of food. Does a dead man ever eat? If the food eaten by one man here reaches the body of another in the other world, one might as well offer pinda to those travelling from home. No provisions for journey would be necessary then for them.’

Bharata and Rama are declared correct in their arguments 2.111. 13-15

“A Prayopavesha is permitted only to a brahmin. Kshatriyas who are sprinkled with holy water on their head on the occasion of their consecration as kings are not permitted by spiritual texts to sit at the door of any one under Prayopavesha. Hence get up; return speedily to Ayodhya and rule the Kingdom”, said Rama.
