[Kausalya performs benedictory rites for Rama and offers prayers to all gods to protect him- Rama departs for the palace of Sita.]

ಸಾವನೀಯ ತಮಾಯಾಸಮುಪಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯ ಜಲಂ ಶುಚಿಃ.

ಚಕಾರ ಮಾತಾ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಮಙ್ಗಲಾನಿ ಮನಸ್ವಿನೀ৷৷2.25.1৷৷


ಮನಸ್ವಿನೀ high-minded lady, ಮಾತಾ mother, ಸಾ she, ತಮ್ ಆಯಾಸಮ್ such anguish, ಅವನೀಯ
restraining, ಜಲಮ್ water, ಉಪಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯ having performed the sipping (achamana), ಶುಚಿಃ rite sure, ರಾಮಸ್ಯ of Rama, ಮಙ್ಗಲಾನಿ auspicious ceremonies, ಚಕಾರ performed.

High-minded mother Kausalya, her anguish subdued, performed the sipping rite (achamana) and her self rendered pure, performed auspicious ceremonies for Rama.
ನ ಶಕ್ಯಸೇ ವಾರಯಿತುಂ ಗಚ್ಛೇದಾನೀಂ ರಘೂತ್ತಮ.

ಶೀಘ್ರಂ ಚ ವಿನಿವರ್ತಸ್ವ ವರ್ತಸ್ವ ಚ ಸತಾಂ ಕ್ರಮೇ৷৷2.25.2৷৷


ರಘೂತ್ತಮ O the best among descendants of Raghu, ವಾರಯಿತುಮ್ to dissuade, ನ ಶಕ್ಯಸೇ not able, ಇದಾನೀಮ್ now, ಗಚ್ಛ go, ಶೀಘ್ರಮ್ soon, ವಿನಿವರ್ತಸ್ವ return, ಸತಾಮ್ of good men, ಕ್ರಮೇ in footsteps, ವರ್ತಸ್ವ follow.

I am unable to dissuade you, O the best among the descendants of Raghus, from going into the forest. Go now and return soon. Follow in the footsteps of the virtuous.
ಯಂ ಪಾಲಯಸಿ ಧರ್ಮಂ ತ್ವಂ ಧೃತ್ಯಾ ಚ ನಿಯಮೇನ ಚ.

ಸ ವೈ ರಾಘವಶಾರ್ದೂಲ! ಧರ್ಮಸ್ತ್ವಾಮಭಿರಕ್ಷತು৷৷2.25.3৷৷


ರಾಘವಶಾರ್ದೂಲ O tiger among the descendants of Raghu! ತ್ವಮ್ you, ಧೃತ್ಯಾ with courage, ನಿಯಮೇನ ಚ with self-discipline, ಯಂ ಧರ್ಮಮ್ which duty, ಪಾಲಯಸಿ you are carrying out, ಸಃ ಧರ್ಮಃ ವೈ that duty alone, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಅಭಿರಕ್ಷತು let it protect.

The duty which you are carrying out with courage and self-discipline, O tiger among the descendants of Raghu! will alone protect you.
ಯೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪ್ರಣಮಸೇ ಪುತ್ರ! ಚೈತ್ಯೇಷ್ವಾಯತನೇಷು ಚ.

ತೇ ಚ ತ್ವಾಮಭಿರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ವನೇ ಸಹ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಭಿಃ৷৷2.25.4৷৷


ಪುತ್ರ son, ಚೈತ್ಯೇಷು in sacred places, ಆಯತನೇಷು ಚ in temples, ಯೇಭ್ಯಃ to whom, ಪ್ರಣಮಸೇ you are saluting, ತೇ they, ಮಹರ್ಷಿಭಿಃ ಸಹ together with maharshis, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ವನೇ in the forest, ಅಭಿರಕ್ಷನ್ತು protect you.

O my son! may the gods in the temples and in other sacred places and the maharshis you bow to protect you in the forest!
ಯಾನಿ ದತ್ತಾನಿ ತೇಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೇಣ ಧೀಮತಾ.

ತಾನಿ ತ್ವಾಮಭಿರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ಗುಣೈಸ್ಸಮುದಿತಂ ಸದಾ৷৷2.25.5৷৷


ಧೀಮತಾ by the sagacious, ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೇಣ by Viswamitra, ತೇ to you, ಯಾನಿ ಅಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ those weapons, ದತ್ತಾನಿ were bestowed, ತಾನಿ they, ಗುಣೈಃ with (mantric) qualities, ಸಮುದಿತಮ್ endowed, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಸದಾ always, ಅಭಿರಕ್ಷನ್ತು may protect.

May the weapons endowed with mantric qualities, which were bestowed on you by sagacious Viswamitra always protect you!
ಪಿತೃಶುಶ್ರೂಷಯಾ ಪುತ್ರ! ಮಾತೃಶುಶ್ರೂಷಯಾ ತಥಾ.

ಸತ್ಯೇನ ಚ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ! ಚಿರಂ ಜೀವಾಭಿರಕ್ಷಿತಃ৷৷2.25.6৷৷


ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ O mighty armed, ಪುತ್ರ son, ಪಿತೃಶುಶ್ರೂಷಯಾ in the service of your father, ತಥಾ also, ಮಾತೃಶುಶ್ರೂಷಯಾ in the service of your mother, ಸತ್ಯೇನ with truth, ಅಭಿರಕ್ಷಿತಃ you have been protected, ಚಿರಂ ಜೀವ live long.

O my mighty- armed son! protected by the service to your father, mother and to
truth, live long!
ಸಮಿತ್ಕುಶ ಪವಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ವೇದ್ಯಶ್ಚಾಯತನಾನಿ ಚ.

ಸ್ಥಣ್ಡಿಲಾನಿ ವಿಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ಶೈಲಾ ವೃಕ್ಷಾಃ ಕ್ಷುಪಾ ಹ್ರದಾಃ৷৷2.25.7৷৷

ಪತಙ್ಗಾಃ ಪನ್ನಗಾಸ್ಸಿಂಹಾಸ್ತ್ವಾಂ ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ನರೋತ್ತಮ.


ನರೋತ್ತಮ best among men, ಸಮಿತ್ಕುಶ ಪವಿತ್ರಾಣಿ sacrificial fuel, kusha grass and sacred finger rings made of kusa grass, ವೇದ್ಯಶ್ಚ sacrificial altars, ಆಯತನಾನಿ ಚ temples also, ವಿಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ various one, ಸ್ಥಣ್ಡಿಲಾನಿ levelled sacrificial grounds, ಶೈಲಾಃ mountains, ವೃಕ್ಷಾಃ trees, ಕ್ಷುಪಾ:
plants, ಹ್ರದಾಃ lakes, ಪತಙ್ಗಾ: birds, ಪನ್ನಗಾಃ serpents, ಸಿಂಹಾಃ lions, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು may protect.

O best of men! may sacrificial fuel, kusa grass and sacred rings made of kusha grass, sacrificial altars, temples, various levelled sacrificial grounds, mountains, trees, plants, lakes, birds, serpents and lions protect you!
ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಸಾಧ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವೇ ಚ ಮರುತಶ್ಚ ಮಹರ್ಷಯಃ.

ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಧಾತಾ ವಿಧಾತಾ ಚ ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಪೂಷಾ ಭಗೋರ್ಯಮಾ৷৷2.25.8৷৷

ಲೋಕಪಾಲಾಶ್ಚ ತೇ ಸರ್ವೇ ವಾಸವಪ್ರಮುಖಾಸ್ತಥಾ.


ಸಾಧ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ devatas known as 'Sadhyas', ವಿಶ್ವೇ ಚ viswe devatas, ಮರುತಶ್ಚ maruts (wind-god), ಮಹರ್ಷಯಃ the great ascetics, ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ expiatory mantras, ಧಾತಾ sustainer (Virat Purusha), ವಿಧಾತಾ ಚ the preserver of creation (lord Brahma), ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ bestow blessings to you, ಪೂಷಾ Sun, ಭಗಃ the Sun known as Bhaga, ಅರ್ಯಮಾ the Sun known as Aryama, ತಥಾ also, ವಾಸವಪ್ರಮುಖಾಃ others headed by Indra, ಸರ್ವೇ all, ತೇ ಲೋಕಪಾಲಾಶ್ಚ guardians of the world.

May all gods known as Sadhyas, Visvedevatas, Maruts, great ascetics, the sustainer (Virat Purusha), the preserver of creation (lord Brahma), Sun, Bhaga, Aryama, and all other important guardians of the world headed by Indra bestow their blessings on you!
ಋತವಶ್ಚೈವ ಪಕ್ಷಾಶ್ಚ ಮಾಸಾ ಸ್ಸಂವತ್ಸರಾಃ ಕ್ಷಪಾಃ৷৷2.25.9৷৷

ದಿನಾನಿ ಚ ಮುಹೂರ್ತಾಶ್ಚ ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಕುರ್ವನ್ತು ತೇ ಸದಾ.


ಋತವಶ್ಚೈವ six seasons also, ಪಕ್ಷಾಶ್ಚ two fort nights, ಮಾಸಾಃ months, ಸಂವತ್ಸರಾಃ years, ಕ್ಷಪಾ: nights, ದಿನಾನಿ ಚ days also, ಮುಹೂರ್ತಾಶ್ಚ moments (each 48 minutes), ತೇ to you, ಸದಾ always, ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಕುರ್ವನ್ತು may bring propitiousness to you.

May the six seasons, years, months, fortnights, nights, days and moments bring good to you!
ಸ್ಮೃತಿರ್ಧೃತಿಶ್ಚ ಧರ್ಮಶ್ಚ ಪಾತು ತ್ವಾಂ ಪುತ್ರ! ಸರ್ವತಃ৷৷2.25.10৷৷

ಸ್ಕನ್ದಶ್ಚ ಭಗವಾನ್ದೇವ ಸ್ಸೋಮಶ್ಚ ಸ ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿಃ.

ಸಪ್ತರ್ಷಯೋ ನಾರದಶ್ಚ ತೇ ತ್ವಾಂ ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ಸರ್ವತಃ৷৷2.25.11৷৷


ಪುತ್ರ O my son!, ಸ್ಮೃತಿಃ memory, ಧೃತಿಶ್ಚ resolution(Dhriti), ಧರ್ಮಶ್ಚ Dharma, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಸರ್ವತಃ always, ಪಾತು may guard, ಭಗವಾನ್ of divine personages, ದೇವಃ god, ಸ್ಕನ್ದಶ್ಚ Skanda, ಸೋಮಶ್ಚ Soma, ಸಃ that, ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿಃ Brihaspati (preceptor of gods), ತೇ to you, ಸಪ್ತರ್ಷಯಃ seven rishis, ನಾರದಶ್ಚ Narada, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಸರ್ವತಃ everywhere, ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು protect you.

O my son! may Smriti, Dhriti and Dharma always guard you. May divine personages and gods, Skanda, Soma, Brihaspati, the seven rishis and Narada protect you at all times!
ಯಾಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ಸರ್ವತಸ್ಸಿಧ್ದಾ ದಿಶಶ್ಚ ಸದಿಗೀಶ್ವರಾಃ.

ಸ್ತುತಾ ಮಯಾ ವನೇ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ಪಾನ್ತು ತ್ವಾಂ ಪುತ್ರ! ನಿತ್ಯಶಃ৷৷2.25.12৷৷


ಪುತ್ರ! O my son!, ಸಿದ್ಧಾಃ Siddhas, ಸದಿಗೀಶ್ವರಾ: along with the guardians of the quarters, ಯಾಃ ದಿಶಶ್ಚ those quarters, ಮಯಾ by me, ಸ್ತುತಾಃ are invoked, ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ವನೇ in that forest, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಸರ್ವತಃ from all sides, ನಿತ್ಯಶಃ at all times, ಪಾನ್ತು protect.

May Siddhas, guardians of the quarters invoked by me protect you from all directions in that forest at all times, O my son!
ಶೈಲಾಸ್ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಮುದ್ರಾಶ್ಚ ರಾಜಾ ವರುಣ ಏವ ಚ.

ದ್ಯೌರನ್ತರಿಕ್ಷಂ ಪೃಥಿವೀ ನದ್ಯಸ್ಸರ್ವಾಸ್ತಥೈವ ಚ৷৷2.25.13৷৷

ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಣಿ ಚ ಸರ್ವಾಣಿ ಗ್ರಹಾಶ್ಚ ಸಹದೇವತಾಃ.

ಅಹೋರಾತ್ರೇ ತಥಾ ಸನ್ಧ್ಯೇ ಪಾನ್ತು ತ್ವಾಂ ವನಮಾಶ್ರಿತಮ್৷৷2.25.14৷৷


ಸರ್ವೇ all, ಶೈಲಾಃ mountains, ಸಮುದ್ರಾಶ್ಚ also seas, ರಾಜಾ lord, ವರುಣ ಏವ ಚ Varuna, ದ್ಯೌಃ the heaven, ಅನ್ತರಿಕ್ಷಮ್ the space, ಪೃಥಿವೀ ಚ the earth as well, ತಥೈವ ಚ also, ಸರ್ವಾಃ all, ನದ್ಯಃ rivers, ಸರ್ವಾಣಿ all,
ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಣಿ ಚ the stars, ಸಹದೇವತಾಃ together with their presiding deities, ಗ್ರಹಾಶ್ಚ planets, ಅಹೋರಾತ್ರೇ day and night, ತಥಾ and, ಸನ್ಧ್ಯೇ dawn and dusk, ಆಶ್ರಿತಮ್ having taken refuge, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಪಾನ್ತು may protect.

When you dwell in the forest may all the mountains, seas, lord Varuna, heaven, space, and earth and also all rivers, all stars and planets with their presiding deities, day, night, dawn and dusk protect you!
ಋತವಶ್ಚೈವ ಷಟ್ಪುಣ್ಯಾ ಮಾಸಾಸ್ಸಂವತ್ಸರಾಸ್ತಥಾ.

ಕಲಾಶ್ಚ ಕಾಷ್ಠಾಶ್ಚ ತಥಾ ತವ ಶರ್ಮ ದಿಶನ್ತು ತೇ৷৷2.25.15৷৷


ಪುಣ್ಯಾಃ pious, ಷಟ್ six, ಋತವಶ್ಚೈವ seasons, ತೇ to you, ಮಾಸಾಃ months, ತಥಾ also, ಸಂವತ್ಸರಾಃ years, ಕಲಾಶ್ಚ kala, ಕಾಷ್ಠಾಶ್ಚ kashta (kala and kashta are the names for the minute divisions of time), ತವ your, ಶರ್ಮ welfare, ದಿಶನ್ತು you may offer.

May all the six pious seasons, months, years, kala and kashta contribute to your well-being!
ಮಹಾವನೇ ವಿಚರತೋ ಮುನಿವೇಷಸ್ಯ ಧೀಮತಃ.

ತವಾದಿತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ ದೈತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ ಭವನ್ತು ಸುಖದಾಸ್ಸದಾ৷৷2.25.16৷৷


ಮುನಿವೇಷಸ್ಯ clad in ascetic garb, ಮಹಾವನೇ in the wild forest, ವಿಚರತಃ wandering, ಧೀಮತಃ sagacious, ತವ your, ಆದಿತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ sons of Aditi, devatas, ದೈತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ sons of Diti, daityas, ಸದಾ
always, ಸುಖದಾಃ bestowers of happiness, ಭವನ್ತು be.

May gods and demons always give you happiness when you wander in that great forest clad in ascetic garb!
ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾನಾಂ ಪಿಶಾಚಾನಾಂ ರೌದ್ರಾಣಾಂ ಕ್ರೂರಕರ್ಮಣಾಮ್.

ಕ್ರವ್ಯಾದಾನಾಂ ಚ ಸರ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಮಾ ಭೂತ್ಪುತ್ರಕ! ತೇ ಭಯಮ್৷৷2.25.17৷৷


ಪುತ್ರಕ O my child, ತೇ to you, ರೌದ್ರಾಣಾಮ್ of the fearful, ಕ್ರೂರಕರ್ಮಣಾಮ್ of those committing cruel
acts, ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾನಾಮ್ of rakshasas, ಪಿಶಾಚಾನಾಮ್ of pisachas, 'ಸರ್ವೇಷಾಮ್ of all, ಕ್ರವ್ಯಾದಾನಾಂ ಚ of flesh-eating animals, ಭಯಮ್ fear, ಮಾಭೂತ may not be.

Let there be no fear from rakshasas who are fearful to look at and commit cruel acts, from pisachas (evil spirits) and from flesh-eating animals, O my child!
ಪ್ಲವಗಾ ವೃಶ್ಚಿಕಾ ದಂಶಾಮಶಕಾಶ್ಚೈವ ಕಾನನೇ.

ಸರೀಸೃಪಾಶ್ಚ ಕೀಟಾಶ್ಚ ಮಾ ಭೂವನ್ಗಹನೇ ತವ৷৷2.25.18৷৷


ಗಹನೇ in an inaccessible, ಕಾನನೇ in the forest, ತವ to you, ಪ್ಲವಗಾಃ monkeys, ವೃಶ್ಚಿಕಾಃ scorpions, ದಂಶಾಃ wild gnats, ಮಶಕಾಶ್ಚ mosquitoes also, ಸರೀಸೃಪಾಶ್ಚ reptiles also, ಕೀಟಾಶ್ಚ insects too, ಮಾ ಭೂವನ್ may not be there.

May monkeys, scorpions, wild gnats, mosquitoes, reptiles and insects in that inaccessible forest not trouble you!
ಮಹಾದ್ವಿಪಾಶ್ಚ ಸಿಂಹಾಶ್ಚ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಾ ಋಕ್ಷಾಶ್ಚ ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಿಣಃ.

ಮಹಿಷಾ ಶ್ಶೃಙ್ಗಿಣೋ ರೌದ್ರಾ ನ ತೇ ದ್ರುಹ್ಯನ್ತು ಪುತ್ರಕ!৷৷2.25.19৷৷


ಪುತ್ರಕ my dear son, ಮಹಾದ್ವಿಪಾಶ್ಚ mighty elephants also, ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಿಣಃ with pointed incisors, ಸಿಂಹಾಶ್ಚ lions, ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಾಃ tigers, ಋಕ್ಷಾಶ್ಚ bears and, ಶೃಙ್ಗಿಣಃ with horns, ರೌದ್ರಾಃ fierce ones, ಮಹಿಷಾಃ wild buffaloes, ತೇ to you, ನ ದ್ರುಹ್ಯನ್ತು may not harm.

May the mighty elephants, lions with pointed incisors, tigers, bears and fierce, wild, horned buffaloes, do you no harm, O my dear son!
ನೃಮಾಂಸಭೋಜನಾ ರೌದ್ರಾ ಯೇ ಚಾನ್ಯೇ ಸತ್ವಜಾತಯಃ.

ಮಾ ಚ ತ್ವಾಂ ಹಿಂಸಿಷುಃ ಪುತ್ರ! ಮಯಾ ಸಂಪೂಜಿತಾಸ್ತ್ವಿಹ৷৷2.25.20৷৷


ಪುತ್ರ O my child, ನೃಮಾಂಸಭೋಜಿನಃ cannibals, ರೌದ್ರಾಃ frightening ones, ಯೇ ಅನ್ಯೇ all others, ಸತ್ವಜಾತಯಃ ferocious breeds of animals, ಇಹ here, ಮಯಾ by me, ಸಂಪೂಜಿತಾಃ have been worshipped, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಮಾ ಚ ಹಿಂಸಿಷುಃ may not harm.

May the ferocious breed of cernivores I worship not harm you, O my child!
ಆಗಮಾಸ್ತೇ ಶಿವಾಸ್ಸನ್ತು ಸಿಧ್ಯನ್ತು ಚ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಾಃ.

ಸರ್ವಸಮ್ಪತ್ತಯೇ ರಾಮ! ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಮಾನ್ಗಚ್ಛ ಪುತ್ರಕ৷৷2.25.21৷৷


ಪುತ್ರಕ O my child, ರಾಮ Rama, ತೇ your, ಆಗಮಾಃ paths, ಶಿವಾಃ safe (auspecious), ಸನ್ತು be, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಾಶ್ಚ valour also, ಸಿಧ್ಯನ್ತು be accomplished, ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಮಾನ್ safe man, ಸರ್ವಸಂಪತ್ತಯೇ achieve success in everything, ಗಚ್ಛ go.

O Rama! may your path be auspecious! May your valour be fruitful! Go safel and achieve success in everything!
ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ತೇ ಸ್ತ್ವನ್ತರಿಕ್ಷೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪಾರ್ಥಿವೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ.

ಸರ್ವೇಭ್ಯಶ್ಚೈವ ದೇವೇಭ್ಯೋ ಯೇ ಚ ವೈ ಪರಿಪನ್ಥಿನಃ৷৷2.25.22৷৷


ಅನ್ತರಿಕ್ಷೇಭ್ಯಃ from the sky, ಪುನಃ again, ಪಾರ್ಥಿವೇಭ್ಯಃ from earthly gods (kings), ಪುನಃ again, ಸರ್ವೇಭ್ಯಃ from all, ದೇವೇಭ್ಯಶ್ಚೈವ from devatas also, ಯೇ ತೇ ಪರಿಪನ್ಥಿನ from all those who obstruct your path, ತೇ to you, ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಅಸ್ತು safety be yours.

May gods from the sky, the earth and all other gods protect you and let there be no harm to you from your foes.
ಗುರುಸ್ಸೋಮಶ್ಚ ಸೂರ್ಯಶ್ಚ ಧನದೋಥ ಯಮಸ್ತಥಾ.

ಪಾನ್ತು ತ್ವಾಮರ್ಚಿತಾ ರಾಮ! ದಣ್ಡಕಾರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿನಮ್৷৷2.25.23৷৷


ರಾಮ Rama, ಗುರುಃ Guru or Brihaspati, ಸೋಮಶ್ಚ Moon also, ಸೂರ್ಯಶ್ಚ Sun too, ಅಥ also, ಧನದಃ Kubera, ತಥಾ also, ಯಮಃ Yama, ಅರ್ಚಿತಾಃ having been worshipped, ದಣ್ಡಕಾರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿನಮ್ living in Dandaka forest, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಪಾನ್ತು may protect you.

Propitiated by my worship, O Rama! may Brihaspati, Moon, Sun, Kubera and Yama protect you when you are in Dandaka forest!
ಅಗ್ನಿರ್ವಾಯುಸ್ತಥಾ ಧೂಮೋ ಮನ್ತ್ರಾಶ್ಚರ್ಷಿಮುಖಾಚ್ಚ್ಯುತಾಃ.

ರಘುನನ್ದನ! O Joy of the Raghus! O Son of the Raghu race!, ಉಪಸ್ಪರ್ಶನಕಾಲೇ at the time of taking bath, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಅಗ್ನಿ: fire, ವಾಯುಃ wind, ತಥಾ also, ಧೂಮಃ smoke, ಋಷಿಮುಖಾತ್ from the mouths of rishis, ಚ್ಯುತಾಃ released, ಮನ್ತ್ರಾಶ್ಚ mantras, ಪಾನ್ತು protect you.

May Fire, Wind, Smoke and Mantras emanated from the mouths of rishis protect you when you take your ablutions, O Son of the Raghu race! O Joy of the Raghus!
ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಪ್ರಭುರ್ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾ ಭೂತಭರ್ತಾ ತಥರ್ಷಯಃ.

ಯೇ ಚ ಶೇಷಾಸ್ಸುರಾಸ್ತೇ ತ್ವಾಂ ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ವನವಾಸಿನಮ್৷৷2.25.25৷৷


ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಪ್ರಭುಃ lord of all the worlds, Siva, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾ Brahma, ಭೂತಭರ್ತಾ supporter of beings, Visnu, ತಥಾ also, ಋಷಯಃ rishis, ಶೇಷಾಃ the remaining, ಯೇ ಸುರಾಃ those gods, ತೇ to you, ವನವಾಸಿನಮ್ dwelling in the forest, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ರಕ್ಷನ್ತು protect.

May Siva, lord of all the worlds, Visnu, supporter of living beings, Brahma, rishis and all the rest of the gods protect you while you dwell in the forest!
ಇತಿ ಮಾಲ್ಯೈಸ್ಸುರಗಣಾನ್ಗನ್ಧೈಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ.

ಸ್ತುತಿಭಿಶ್ಚಾನುರೂಪಾಭಿರಾನರ್ಚಾಯತಲೋಚನಾ৷৷2.25.26৷৷


ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ illustrious lady, ಆಯತಲೋಚನಾ large-eyed (Kausalya), ಇತಿ thus, ಮಾಲ್ಯೈಃ with garlands, ಗನ್ಧೈಶ್ಚಾಪಿ with fragrant susbtances, ಅನುರೂಪಾಭಿಃ by appropriate articles, ಸ್ತುತಿಭಿಶ್ಚ with prayers, ಸುರಗಣಾನ್ hosts of gods, ಆನರ್ಚ worshipped.

Thus illustrious, large-eyed Kausalya worshipped hosts of gods by offering them garlands and fragrant substances with appropriate prayers.
ಜ್ವಲನಂ ಸಮುಪಾದಾಯ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣೇನ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ.

ಹಾವಯಾಮಾಸ ವಿಧಿನಾ ರಾಮಮಙ್ಗಲಕಾರಣಾತ್৷৷2.25.27৷৷


ಜ್ವಲನಮ್ the sacred fire, ಸಮುಪಾದಾಯ having arranged, ರಾಮಮಙ್ಗಲ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ for the welfare of Rama, ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ great, ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣೇನ by the brahmin (priest), ವಿಧಿನಾ duly, ಹಾವಯಾಮಾಸ offered oblations.

After collecting the sacred fire through great brahmins she duly offered oblations to the gods for the welfare of Rama.
ಘೃತಂ ಶ್ವೇತಾನಿ ಮಾಲ್ಯಾನಿ ಸಮಿಧಶ್ಶ್ವೇತಸರ್ಷಪಾನ್.

ಉಪಸಮ್ಪಾದಯಾಮಾಸ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾ ಪರಮಾಙ್ಗನಾ৷৷2.25.28৷৷


ಪರಮಾಙ್ಗನಾ noble lady, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾ Kausalya, ಘೃತಮ್ clarified butter, ಶ್ವೇತಾನಿ white, ಮಾಲ್ಯಾನಿ garlands of flowers, ಸಮಿಧಃ sacred fuel, ಶ್ವೇತ ಸರ್ಷಪಾನ್ white grains of mustard seed, ಉಪಸಂಪಾದಯಾಮಾಸ obtained.

Noble Kausalya procured clarified butter, garlands of white flowers, sacred fuel, and grains of white mustard seed (for oblations to the gods).
ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯ ಸ್ಸವಿಧಿನಾ ಹುತ್ವಾ ಶಾನ್ತಿಮನಾಮಯಮ್.

ಹುತಹವ್ಯಾವಶೇಷೇಣ ಬಾಹ್ಯಂ ಬಲಿಮಕಲ್ಪಯತ್৷৷2.25.29৷৷


ಸಃ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಃ that officiating priest, ವಿಧಿನಾ duly, ಅನಾಮಯಮ್ sound health, ಶಾನ್ತಿಂ ಹುತ್ವಾ having performed sacrificial offerings for peace, ಹುತಹವ್ಯಾವಶೇಷೇಣ with the remainder of the offerings, ಬಾಹ್ಯಮ್ external, ಬಲಿಮ್ ceremonies, ಅಕಲ್ಪಯತ್ performed.

The officiating priest performed the ritual of sacrificial offerings strictly in accordance with rules for peace and happiness of Rama. With the remainder of the offerings, he performed whatever ceremonies were to be done externally.
ಮಧು ದಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತಘೃತೈಃ ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿವಾಚ್ಯದ್ವಿಜಾಂಸ್ತತಃ.

ವಾಚಯಾಮಾಸ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ವನೇಸ್ವಸ್ತ್ಯಯನಕ್ರಿಯಾಃ৷৷2.25.30৷৷


ಮಧು ದಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತಘೃತೈಃ with honey, curds, rice and clarified butter, ದ್ವಿಜಾನ್ brahmins, ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿವಾಚ್ಯ who pronounced benedictory prayers, ತತಃ thereafter, ವನೇ in the forest, ರಾಮಸ್ಯ of Rama, ಸ್ವಸ್ತ್ಯಯನಕ್ರಿಯಾಃ reciting mantras preparatory for averting evil, ವಾಚಯಾಮಾಸ got recited.

Thereafter she made the brahmins pronounce benedictory prayers, offering honey, curd, rice and clarified butter.Then she got mantras (expiatory rites) recited for averting evil to Rama while in the forest.
ತತಸ್ತಸ್ಮೈ ದ್ವಿಜೇನ್ದ್ರಾಯ ರಾಮಮಾತಾ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ.

ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾಂ ಪ್ರದದೌ ಕಾಮ್ಯಾಂ ರಾಘವಂ ಚೇದಮಬ್ರವೀತ್৷৷2.25.31৷৷


ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ illustrious, ರಾಮಮಾತಾ Rama's mother, ತತಃ thereafter, ತಸ್ಮೈ that, ದ್ವಿಜೇನ್ದ್ರಾಯ best among brahmins, ಕಾಮ್ಯಾಮ್ as desired, ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾಮ್ appropriate gifts, ಪ್ರದದೌ gave, ರಾಘವಮ್ to Rama, ಇದಮ್ these words, ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್ ಚ also spoke.

The illustrious Kausalya, mother of Rama gave abundant gifts to the best of the brahmins and thereafter said to him:
ಯನ್ಮಙ್ಗಲಂ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಸರ್ವದೇವನಮಸ್ಕೃತೇ.

ವೃತ್ರನಾಶೇ ಸಮಭವತ್ತತ್ತೇ ಭವತು ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್৷৷2.25.32৷৷


ವೃತ್ರನಾಶೇ at the time of slaying of Vritra, ಸರ್ವದೇವನಮಸ್ಕೃತೇ salutations bestowed by all gods, ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ on god of a thousand eyes (Indra), ಯತ್ whichever, ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ blessings, ಸಮಭವತ್ was bestowed, ತತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ that auspiciousness, ತೇ ಭವತು may happen to you.

May the same blessings bestowed by all the gods on the thousand-eyed Indra at the time of killing Vritra be with you!
ಯನ್ಮಙ್ಗಲಂ ಸುಪರ್ಣಸ್ಯ ವಿನತಾಕಲ್ಪಯತ್ಪುರಾ.

ಅಮೃತಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯಾನಸ್ಯ ತತ್ತೇ ಭವತು ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್৷৷2.25.33৷৷


ಪುರಾ formely, ಅಮೃತಮ್ nectar, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯಾನಸ್ಯ while seeking, ಸುಪರ್ಣಸ್ಯ for Garuda, ವಿನತಾ Vinata, ಯತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ which blessings, ಅಕಲ್ಪಯತ್ created, ತತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ that auspiciousness, ತೇ ಭವತು happen to you.

May you be conferred with the same blessings which Vinata bestowed on Garuda at the time of bringing nectar!
ಅಮೃತೋತ್ಪಾದನೇ ದೈತ್ಯಾನ್ ಘ್ನತೋ ವಜ್ರಧರಸ್ಯ ಯತ್.

ಅದಿತಿರ್ಮಙ್ಗಲಂ ಪ್ರಾದಾತ್ತತ್ತೇ ಭವತು ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್৷৷2.25.34৷৷


ಅದಿತಿಃ Aditi, ಅಮೃತೋತ್ಪಾದನೇ at the time of churning out nectar, ದೈತ್ಯಾನ್ the daityas, ಘ್ನತಃ slew, ವಜ್ರಧರಸ್ಯ of the wielder of thunder (Indras's), ತತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ blessings, ಪ್ರಾದಾತ್ gave, ತತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ blessings, ತೇ ಭವತು may be yours.

May you be bestowed with the same blessings conferred by Aditi on Indra, the wielder of thunder for the killing of daityas at the time nectar was generated!
ತ್ರೀನ್ವಿಕ್ರಮಾನ್ಪ್ರಕ್ರಮತೋ ವಿಷ್ಣೋರಮಿತತೇಜಸಃ.

ಯದಾಸೀನ್ಮಙ್ಗಲಂ ರಾಮ! ತತ್ತೇ ಭವತು ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್৷৷2.25.35৷৷


ರಾಮ! O Rama, ತ್ರೀನ್ three, ವಿಕ್ರಮಾನ್ strides, ಪ್ರಕ್ರಮತಃ of him who was occupying, ಅಮಿತತೇಜಸಃ
highly lustrous, ವಿಷ್ಣೋಃ Visnu's, ಯತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಮ್ whichever auspiciousness, ಆಸೀತ್ was to be, ತತ್ ಮಙ್ಗಲಾನಿ that auspiciousness, ತೇ ಭವತು may be yours.

O Rama! by occupying three footsteps of space, highly lustrous Visnu owned the three worlds and obtained glory. May you obtain similar auspiciousness!
ಋತವಸ್ಸಾಗರಾ ದ್ವೀಪಾ ವೇದಾ ಲೋಕಾ ದಿಶಶ್ಚ ತೇ.

ಮಙ್ಗಲಾನಿ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ! ದಿಶನ್ತು ಶುಭಮಙ್ಗಲಾಃ৷৷2.25.36৷৷


ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ! O mighty-armed one, ಶುಭಮಙ್ಗಲಾಃ auspicious happenings, ಋತವಃ seasons, ಸಾಗರಾಃ seas, ದ್ವೀಪಾಃ islands, ವೇದಾಃ the Vedas, ಲೋಕಾಃ worlds, ದಿಶಶ್ಚ the quarters, ತೇ to you, ಮಙ್ಗಲಾನಿ blessings, ದಿಶನ್ತು let them bestow.

O mighty-armed Rama! may the auspicious and prosperous seasons, seas, islands. the Vedas, the worlds and the quarters bless you!
ಇತಿ ಪುತ್ರಸ್ಯ ಶೇಷಾಂಶ್ಚ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಶಿರಸಿ ಭಾಮಿನೀ.

ಗನ್ಧೈಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ಸಮಾಲಭ್ಯ ರಾಮಮಾಯತಲೋಚನಾ৷৷2.25.37৷৷

ಓಷಧೀಂ ಚಾಪಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥಾಂ ವಿಶಲ್ಯಕರಣೀಂ ಶುಭಾಮ್.

ಚಕಾರ ರಕ್ಷಾಂ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾ ಮನ್ತ್ರೈರಭಿಜಜಾಪ ಚ৷৷2.25.38৷৷


ಆಯತಲೋಚನಾ large-eyed lady, ಭಾಮಿನೀ beautiful lady, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾ Kausalya, ಇತಿ in this way uttering, ಪುತ್ರಸ್ಯ son's, ಶಿರಸಿ on the head, ಶೇಷಾಶ್ಚ the remains (of offerings), ಕೃತ್ವಾ having offered, ರಾಮಮ್ Rama, ಗನ್ಧೈಶ್ಚಾಪಿ with sandalpaste also, ಸಮಾಲಭ್ಯ having applied, ಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥಾಂ for fruitful attainment, ಶುಭಾಮ್ auspicious, ವಿಶಲ್ಯಕರಣೀಮ್ Vishalyakarani, (capable of removing extraneous substances causing great pain in the body), ಓಷಧೀಮ್ medicinal herb, ರಕ್ಷಾಮ್ armlet, ಚಕಾರ made, ಮನ್ತ್ರೈ: with sacred prayers, ಅಭಿಜಜಾಪ ಚ muttered repeatedly in a low tone.

The large-eyed Kausalya placed the remains of the offerings on his (Rama's) head and applied sandal cream to his body. She tied an auspicious medicinal herb known as Vishalyakarani to his arm for attainment of his objectives, repeatedly muttering
prayers.
ಉವಾಚಾತಿಪ್ರಹೃಷ್ಟೇವ ಸಾ ದುಃಖವಶವರ್ತಿನೀ.

ವಾಙ್ಗ್ಮಾತ್ರೇಣ ನ ಭಾವೇನ ವಾಚಾಸಂಸಜ್ಜಮಾನಯಾ৷৷2.25.39৷৷


ದುಃಖವಶವರ್ತಿನೀ filled with distress, ಸಾ she, ಅತಿಪ್ರಹೃಷ್ಟೇವ as if she was exceedingly happy, ಸಂಸಜ್ಜಮಾನಯಾ with confused, ವಾಚಾ with a tone, ವಾಙ್ಮಾತ್ರೇಣ in mere words, ಉವಾಚ said, ಭಾವೇನ ನ not with mind.

Even though Kausalya was filled with distress, she appeared as if she was very much happy. She uttered mere words in a confusing tone without applying her mind.
ಆನಮ್ಯ ಮೂರ್ಧ್ನಿ ಚಾಘ್ರಾಯ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ.

ಅವದತ್ಪುತ್ರ ಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥೋ ಗಚ್ಛ ರಾಮ! ಯಥಾಸುಖಮ್৷৷2.25.40৷৷


ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೀ illustrious lady, ಆನಮ್ಯ bending him down, ಮೂರ್ಧ್ನಿ on his forehead, ಆಘ್ರಾಯ having smelt, ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ having embraced, ಅವದತ್ spoke, ಪುತ್ರ O son, ರಾಮ Rama, ಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥಃ having fulfilled your objective, ಯಥಾ ಸುಖಮ್ in peace and happiness, ಗಚ್ಛ go.

Illustrious Kausalya embraced Rama, bending his head down and smelt his forehead. And then said O Rama! go in peace and come back after accomplishing the objective.
ಅರೋಗಂ ಸರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥಮಯೋಧ್ಯಾಂ ಪುನರಾಗತಮ್.

ಪಶ್ಯಾಮಿ ತ್ವಾಂ ಸುಖಂ ವತ್ಸ! ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಂ ರಾಜವರ್ತ್ಮನಿ৷৷2.25.41৷৷


ವತ್ಸ O my son!, ಅರೋಗಮ್ without illness, ಸರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧಾರ್ಥಮ್ accomplishing all objectives, ಸುಖಮ್ happily (in good health), ಪುನಃ again, ಅಯೋಧ್ಯಾಮ್ to Ayodhya, ಆಗತಮ್ having reached, ರಾಜವರ್ತ್ಮನಿ on the royal path (as king), ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಮ್ firmly standing, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಪಶ್ಯಾಮಿ I shall behold.

O my son! I shall be happy to behold you back in Ayodhya in sound health
successful in your objectives and firmly established in the kingdom.
ಪ್ರಣಷ್ಟದುಃಖಸಙ್ಕಲ್ಪಾ ಹರ್ಷವಿದ್ಯೋತಿತಾನನಾ.

ದ್ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ತ್ವಾಂ ವನಾತ್ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಂ ಪೂರ್ಣಚನ್ದ್ರಮಿವೋದಿತಮ್৷৷2.25.42৷৷


ವನಾತ್ from the forest, ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಮ್ having received, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಉದಿತಮ್ rising, ಪೂರ್ಣಚನ್ದ್ರಮಿವ like full moon, ಪ್ರಣಷ್ಟದುಃಖಸಂಕಲ್ಪಾ having removed my sorrowful thoughts, ಹರ್ಷವಿದ್ಯೋತಿತಾನನಾ my face sparkling with joy, ದ್ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ shall behold.

When you return from the forest like the full Moon rising, I shall behold you with my anxieties gone and my face sparkling with joy.
ಭದ್ರಾಸನಗತಂ ರಾಮ! ವನವಾಸಾದಿಹಾಗತಮ್.

ದ್ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ಚ ಪುನಸ್ತ್ವಾಂ ತು ತೀರ್ಣವನ್ತಂ ಪಿತುರ್ವಚಃ৷৷2.25.43৷৷


ರಾಮ O Rama, ಪಿತುಃ ವಚಃ father's words, ತೀರ್ಣವನ್ತಮ್ having crossed (fuliflled), ವನವಾಸಾತ್ from your exile, ಇಹ here, ಪುನಃ again, ಆಗತಮ್ having arrived, ತ್ವಾಮ್ you, ಭದ್ರಾಸನಗತಮ್ sitting on the throne, ದ್ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ I shall see.

After you have fulfilled your father's words and returned from your exile I shall behold you seated on the throne, O Rama!
ಮಙ್ಗಲೈರುಪಸಪನ್ನೋ ವನವಾಸಾದಿಹಾಗತಃ.

ವಧ್ವಾ ಮಮ ಚ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ತ್ವಂ ಕಾಮಾನ್ಸಂವರ್ಧ ಯಾಹಿ ಭೋಃ!৷৷2.25.44৷৷


ಭೋಃ O Rama!, ವನವಾಸಾತ್ from the forest, ಇಹ here, ಆಗತಃ having returned, ಮಙ್ಗಲೈ: with auspicious events, ಉಪಸಮ್ಪನ್ನಃ endowed with, ತ್ವಮ್ you, ವಧ್ವಾಃ of my daughter-in-law (Sita's), ಮಮ ಚ for me also, ಕಾಮಾನ್ desires, ನಿತ್ಯಮ್ always, ಸಂವರ್ಧ enhance, ಯಾಹಿ go.

O Rama!, credited with auspicious events on return from the forest, fulfil my desires and those of my daughter-in-law (Sita).
ಮಯಾರ್ಚಿತಾ ದೇವಗಣಾಶ್ಶಿವಾದಯೋ

ಮಹರ್ಷಯೋ ಭೂತಮಹಾಸುರೋರಗಾಃ.

ಅಭಿಪ್ರಯಾತಸ್ಯ ವನಂ ಚಿರಾಯ ತೇ

ಹಿತಾನಿ ಕಾಙ್ಕ್ಷನ್ತು ದಿಶಶ್ಚ ರಾಘವ!৷৷2.25.45৷৷


ರಾಘವ O son of the Raghu race! ಮಯಾ by me, ಅರ್ಚಿತಾಃ worshipped, ಶಿವಾದಯಃ Siva and others, ದೇವಗಣಾಃ gods, ಮಹರ್ಷಯಃ the great rishis, ಭೂತಮಹಾಸುರೋರಗಾಃ bhutas, great asuras, serpents,
ದಿಶಶ್ಚ four quarters, ವನಮ್ to the forest, ಅಭಿಪ್ರಯಾತಸ್ಯ having exiled, ತೇ your, ಹಿತಾನಿ welfare, ಚಿರಾಯ for a long time, ಕಾಙ್ಕ್ಷನ್ತು may wish for.

O son of the Raghu race! Lord Siva and other gods, the great rishis, bhutas, great asuras and serpents and four quarters worshipped by me will always promote your welfare when you dwell in the forest.
ಇತೀವ ಸಾಶ್ರುಪ್ರತಿಪೂರ್ಣಲೋಚನಾ

ಸಮಾಪ್ಯ ಚ ಸ್ವಸ್ತ್ಯಯನಂ ಯಥಾವಿಧಿ.

ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣಂ ಚೈವ ಚಕಾರ ರಾಘವಂ

ಪುನಃ ಪುನಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ಸಸ್ವಜೇ৷৷2.25.46৷৷


ಇತೀವ speaking thus, ಸಾ she, ಅಶ್ರುಪ್ರತಿಪೂರ್ಣಲೋಚನಾ eyes filled with tears, ಯಥಾವಿಧಿ duly, ಸ್ವಸ್ತ್ಯಯನಮ್ benedictory rites, ಸಮಾಪ್ಯ ಚ having completed, ರಾಘವಮ್ to the descendant of the Raghu dynasty, ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣಂ ಚಕಾರ circumambulate, ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ ಚ ಅಪಿ repeatedly, ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ holding him tight, ಸಸ್ವಜೇ embraced.

Thus with her eyes brimming with tears, she duly completed the benedictory rites and circumambulated the scion of the Raghus and embraced him again and again holding him tight.
ತಥಾ ತು ದೇವ್ಯಾ ಸ ಕೃತಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣೋ

ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ಮಾತುಶ್ಚರಣೌ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ.

ಜಗಾಮ ಸೀತಾನಿಲಯಂ ಮಹಾಯಶಾ

ಸ್ಸ ರಾಘವಃ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿತ ಸ್ಸ್ವಯಾ ಶ್ರಿಯಾ৷৷2.25.47৷৷


ದೇವ್ಯಾ by Devi Kausalya, ತಥಾ that way, ಕೃತಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣಃ having circumambulated, ಸಃ Rama, ಮಾತುಃ his mothers, ಚರಣೌ feet, ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ again and again, ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ holding fast, ಮಹಾಯಶಾಃ illustrious, ಸಃ ರಾಘವಃ that son of the Raghu race, ಸ್ವಯಾ by his own, ಶ್ರಿಯಾ with glory, ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿತಃ glowing, ಸೀತಾನಿಲಯಮ್ to the palace of Sita, ಜಗಾಮ went.

Circumambulated by mother Kausalya, the illustrious scion of the Raghu race clasped his mother's feet again and again. And shining in his glory, proceeded to the palace of Sita.
ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯಾಕಾಣ್ಡೇ ಪಞ್ಚವಿಂಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ৷৷
Thus ends the twentyfifth sarga of Ayodhyakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
