[The sage consoles Sampati --- Nishakara speaks about Rama coming to destroy the demons and their king Ravana.]

এবমুক্তা মুনিশ্রেষ্ঠ মরুদং দুঃখিতো ভৃশং৷

অথ ধ্যাত্বা মুহূর্তং তু ভগবানিদমব্রবীত্৷৷4.62.1৷৷


এবম্ thus, উক্তা having spoken, মুনিশ্রেষ্ঠঃ venerable sage, মরুদং roared, দুঃখিতো ভৃশং very sadly, অথ then, ধ্যাত্বা reflecting, মুর্হূতং for a moment, ভগবান্ divine sage, ইদম্ thus, অব্রবীত said.

'When thus I spoke to the venerable sage in that manner roaring very painfully the divine sage replied after reflecting silently for a moment:
পক্ষৌ তু তে প্রপক্ষৌ চ পুনরন্যৌভবিষ্যতঃ৷

প্রাণাশ্চ চক্ষুষী চৈব বিক্রমশ্চ বলং চ তে৷৷4.62.2৷৷


পক্ষৌ তু wings, তে to you, প্রপক্ষৌ চ and feathers, পুন: again, অন্যৌ and other, প্রাণাশ্চ life also, চক্ষুষী eyes, চৈব also, বিক্রমশ্চ prowess, বলং চ and strength, তে to you, ভবিষ্যতঃ you will attain.

'You will get new wings and feathers and also other parts.You will attain vision, life, prowess and strength.
পুরাণে সুমহত্কার্যং ভবিষ্যতি মযা শ্রুতং৷

দৃষ্টং মে তপসা চৈব শ্রুত্বা চ বিদিতং মম4.62.3৷৷


পুরাণে in the purana (history), সুমহত্ very great, কার্যং task, ভবিষ্যতি will happen, মযা by you, শ্রুতং I heard, দৃষ্টং seen, মে with my, তপসা by the power of penance, চৈব also, শ্রুত্বাচ I heard, মম me, বিদিতম্ I came to know.

'I have foreseen with the power of my penance that a great task will be done by you. I have also heard about it in the Puranas and came to know of it.
রাজা দশরথো নাম কশ্চিদিক্ষ্বাকুনন্দনঃ৷

তস্য পুত্রো মহাতেজা রমোনাম ভবিষ্যতি৷৷4.62.4৷৷


ইক্ষ্বাকুনন্দনঃ delight of the Ikshvaku family, দশরথো Dasaratha, নাম named, রাজা king, কশ্চিত indeed, তস্য his, পুত্রো son, মহা highly, তেজাঃ effulgent, রমো Rama, নাম by name, ভবিষ্যতি will beget.

'Indeed in the Ikshvaku family there will be a king named Dasaratha. He will beget a brilliant son named Rama.
অরণ্যং চ সহ র্ভাত্রা লক্ষ্মণেনগমিষ্যতি৷

অস্মিন্নর্থে নিযুক্ত স্সন্পিত্রা সত্যপরাক্রমঃ৷৷4.62.5৷৷


অস্মিন্নর্থে on account of, নিযুক্তস্সন্ assigned by, পিত্রা his father, সত্যপরাক্রমঃ strength of truth, সহ ভ্রাত্রা with his brother, লক্ষ্মণেন accompanied by Lakshmana, গমিষ্যতি will proceed, অরণ্যং the forest.

'On account of the command of his father, Rama armed with the strength of truth will proceed to the forest with his brother Lakshmana.
নৈঋতো রাবণো নাম তস্য ভার্যাং হরিষ্যতি৷

রাক্ষসেন্দ্রো জনস্থনাদবধ্য স্সুরদানবৈঃ4.62.6৷৷


সুরদানবৈঃ by gods and demons, অবধ্যঃ indestructible, রাক্ষসেন্দ্রো king of demons, রাবণো by Ravana, নাম named, জনস্থনাত্ from Janasthana, নৈঋতো in the south-west direction, তস্য his, ভার্যাং wife, হরিষ্যতি will be abducting.

'The king of demons, Ravana who is indestructible even by gods and demons will be
abducting his wife from Janastahana.
সা চ কামৈঃ প্রলোভ্যন্তী ভক্ষ্যৈ:ভোজ্যৈশ্চ মৈথিলী৷

নভোক্ষ্যতি মহাভাগা দুঃখে মগ্না যশস্বিনী৷৷4.62.7৷৷


মহাভাগা noble, যশস্বিনী famed, দুঃখে in sorrow, মগ্না immersed, ন ভোক্ষ্যতি will not eat, সা she, চ and, কামৈঃ pleasures, প্রলোভ্যন্তী however, ভক্ষ্যৈ: eatables, ভোজ্যৈশ্চ to be enjoyed, মৈথিলী princess from Mithila.

'Immersed in grief, chaste and famed Sita, will not take any food or enjoy pleasures however much she is tempted.
পরমান্নংতু বৈদেহ্যা জ্ঞাত্বা দাস্যতি বা সঃ৷

যদন্নমমৃতপ্রখ্যং সুরাণামপিদুর্লভম্4.62.8৷৷


সুরাণাম্ of gods, বৈদেহ্যা by Sita, দাস্যতি avoiding to eat, জ্ঞাত্বা knowing, বা to, স: he, পরমান্নংতু divine food, যদন্নম্ as food, অমৃতপ্রখ্যম্ like nectar, অপিদুর্লভং that which is difficult to get.

'Knowing that Vaidehi is not eating food(given by Ravana) Indra,the ruler of gods, will offer nectar-like food rare even for gods.
তদন্নং মৈথিলীপ্রাপ্য বিজ্ঞাযেন্দ্রাদিদংত্বিতি৷

অগ্রমুদৃত্য রামায ভূতলে নির্বপিষ্যতি৷৷4.62.9৷৷


তদন্নং such food, মৈথিলী princess from Mithila, প্রাপ্য received, বিজ্ঞায having understood, অদিদংত্বিতি this is provided by, ইন্দ্রাত্ Indra, অগ্রম্ large portion, উদৃত্য taken out, রামায for Rama, ভূতলে on the earth, নির্বপিষ্যতি offers.

'Having understood that it has been provided by Indra, Sita will take out a large portion of it and pour it on the ground (as an offering to Rama) and say 'I offer it to Rama wherever he is on earth'.
যদি জীবতি মে ভর্তা লক্ষ্মণেন সহ প্রভুঃ৷

দেবত্বং গচ্ছ্তো র্বাপি তযো রন্নমিদংত্বিতি4.62.10৷৷


মে my, ভর্তা husband, লক্ষ্মণেন with Lakshmana, সহ along with, প্রভুঃ king, যদি like that, জীবতি if living, দেবত্বং attained heaven, গচ্ছতঃ have gone, বাপি or so, তযো: their, অন্নমিদংত্বিতি let this food be enjoyed by them.

'If my husband and Lakshmana are living or else even if they have attained heaven let this food be enjoyed by them', Sita will say.
এষ্যন্ত্যন্বেষকা স্তস্যা রামদূতাঃ প্লবাংগমাঃ৷

আখ়্যেযা রাম মহীষী ত্বযা তেভ্যো বিহংগম4.62.11৷৷


রামদূতাঃ Rama's messenger, এষ্যন্তি and others that way, অন্বেষকা to search, তস্যাঃ for her, প্লবাংগমাঃ monkeys, আখ়্যেযা narrate, রামঃ Rama, মহীষী queen, ত্বযা your, তেভ্যো to them, বিহংগম bird (Sampati).

'Rama's messenger and other monkeys will be coming to search for the his queen. O Sampati! you should narrate this to them.
সর্বথা হি নগন্তব্যমীদৃশঃ ক্ব গমিষ্যসি৷

দেশকালৌ প্রতীক্ষস্ব পক্ষৌ ত্বং প্রতিপত্স্যসে4.62.12৷৷


সর্বথা in all respects, হি indeed, ন গন্তব্যম্ should not leave, ইদৃশঃ remain here, ক্ব গমিষ্যসি where can you go, দেশকালৌ time and place, প্রতীক্ষস্ব waiting for, পক্ষৌ wings, ত্বং yours, প্রতিপত্স্যসে will again grow.

'It is good for you in all respects to remain here. Where can you go (without wings)? Wait for appropriate time and place. You will recover your wings'.
নোত্সহেযমহংকর্তুমধ্যৈব ত্বাং সপক্ষকম্৷

ইহস্থ স্ত্বং তু লোকানাং হিতং কার্যং করিষ্যসি৷৷4.62.13৷৷


নোত্সহ not enthusiastic, ইযম্ for me, অহংকর্তু if I make you get (the wings), মধ্যৈব remain here, ত্বাং your, সপক্ষকম্ your wings, ইহস্থ: here itself, ত্বং you, তু to you, লোকানাং হিতাং good for the world, কার্যং task, করিষ্যসি you will do.

'I am not enthusiastic about giving you the wings now. Remain here and carry on the work for the welfare of the world.
ত্বযাপি খলু তত্কার্যং তযোশ্চনৃপপুত্রযোঃ৷

ব্রাহ্মণানাং সুরাণাং চ মুনীনাং বাসবস্য চ৷৷4.62.14৷৷


ত্বযা your, অপি and, খলু for all, তত্ that, কার্যং task, তযো: for both of them, চ and, নৃপপুত্রযোঃ princes, ব্রাহ্মণানাং for the brahmins, সুরাণাং চ and gods, মুনীনাং for sages, বাসবস্যচ and those who live here.

'(Carry on) the work not only for the princes (Rama and Lakshmana) but also for the brahmins, sages, gods and others who live here.
ইচ্ছাম্যহমপিদ্রষ্টুং ভ্রাতরৌ রামলক্ষ্মণৌ৷

নেচ্ছেচিরং ধারযুতুং প্রাণাং স্ত্যক্ষ্যে কলেবরং৷

মহর্ষি স্ত্বব্রবীদেবং দৃষ্টতত্বার্থদর্শনঃ৷৷4.62.15৷৷


ইচ্ছাম desirous, অহং অপি I am also, দ্রষ্টুং to see, ভ্রাতরৌ রামলক্ষ্মণৌ brothers Rama and Lakshmana, ন not, ইচ্ছা চিরং desire to live long, ধারযুতুং to hold on, প্রাণান্ life, ত্যক্ষ্যে will give up, কলেবরং my body, মহর্ষি: sage, তু your, অব্রবীত্ said, এবং this, দৃষ্টঃ after seeing, তত্বার্থদর্শনঃ knower of self.

'I also want to see Rama and Lakshmana. But I do not like to hold on to my life for long. Hence I will give up my body'. The knower of self, the sage (Nishakara) said this to Sampati.
ইত্যার্ষে শ্রীমদ্রামাযণে বাল্মীকীয আদিকাব্যে কিষ্কিন্ধাকাণ্ডে দ্বিষষ্টিতম স্সর্গঃ৷৷
Thus ends the sixtysecond sarga in Kishkindakanda of the first epic, the Holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
