ஸீதா Sita, மணிஂ Jewel, தத்த்வா having given, ததஃ that way, ஹநூமந்தம் to Hanuman, அப்ரவீத் said, ஏதத் this, ராமஸ்ய to Rama, அபிஜ்ஞாத known, தத்த்வதஃ truly, அபிஜ்ஞாநம் signet.
Sita gave the jewel to Hanuman and said, "This signet ornament is known to Rama very well".
மணிஂ து தரிஷ்ட்வா ராமோ வை த்ரயாணாஂ ஸஂஸ்மரிஷ்யதி.
வீரோ ஜநந்யா மம ச ராஜ்ஞோ தஷரதஸ்ய ச৷৷5.39.2৷৷

மணிம் jewel, தரிஷ்ட்வா after seeing, ராமஃ Rama, த்ரயாணாம் of three of us, ஜநந்யாஃ of the mother, மம ச me and, ராஜ்ஞஃ king, தஷரதஸ்ய ச Dasaratha and, ஸஂஸ்மரிஷ்யதி will recall.
"Seeing this jewel,Rama will recall three of us, my mother, myself and the king Dasaratha" (as this was given by her mother at her marriage.)

"Great Hanuman! you are enthused now. You may think over the future course of action.
த்வமஸ்மிந்கார்யநிர்யோகே ப்ரமாணஂ ஹரிஸத்தம.

ஹரிஸத்தம O best of monkeys, அஸ்மிந் in this, கார்யநிர்யோகே in carrying out this task, த்வம் you, ப்ரமாணம் are responsible, ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, யத்நம் initiative, ஆஸ்தாய after making, துஃகக்ஷயகரஃ reducer of suffering, பவ you are, தஸ்ய for him, சிந்தயதஃ thinking, யத்நஃ effort, துஃகக்ஷயகரஃ reducer of grief, பவேத் become.
"O best of monkeys! it is your responsibility to carry out this task. O Hanuman! think carefully of that. Take the initiative to reduce my suffering. I am confident that you can do it."

ஷிரஸா வந்த்ய வைதேஹீஂ கமநாயோபசக்ரமே.

பீமவிக்ரமஃ possessed with fierceful valour, ஸஃ மாருதிஃ that Maruti, ததேதி so be it, ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாய promised, வைதேஹீம் to Vaidehi, ஷிரஸா with his head, வந்த்ய having offered salutation, கமநாய to depart, உபசக்ரமே started.
Hanuman possessed with fierce valour said to Vaidehi, 'so be it' and bowed his head, and offered salutations before he departed.
ஜ்ஞாத்வா ஸம்ப்ரஸ்திதஂ தேவீ வாநரஂ மாருதாத்மஜம்৷৷5.39.6৷৷
பாஷ்பகத்கதயா வாசா மைதிலீ வாக்யமப்ரவீத்.
பாஷ்பகத்கதயா வாசா மைதிலீ வாக்யமப்ரவீத்.
தேவீ noble lady, மைதிலீ Mythili, மாருதாத்மஜம் Maruti's son, வாநரம் vanara, ஸம்ப்ரஸ்திதம் who had started, ஜ்ஞாத்வா having realised, பாஷ்பகத்கதயா with voice choked with tears, வாசா with speech, வாக்யம் these words, அப்ரவீத் said.
The noble lady, Sita, having been fully convinced about Hanuman and realising that he is about to start, her voice was choked with tears. She said these words:
குஷலஂ ஹநுமந்ப்ரூயாஃ ஸஹிதௌ ராமலக்ஷ்மணௌ৷৷5.39.7৷৷
ஸுக்ரீவஂ ச ஸஹாமாத்யஂ வரித்தாந் ஸர்வாஂஷ்ச வாநராந்.
ப்ரூயாஸ்த்வஂ வாநரஷ்ரேஷ்ட குஷலஂ தர்மஸஂஹிதம்৷৷5.39.8৷৷

"O Hanuman the great! communicate my welfare to both Rama and Lakshmana, to Sugriva, his ministers, elderly vanaras in righteous order.

மஹாபாஹுஃ strong-armed, ஸஃ ராகவஃ that Rama, அஸ்மாத் from this, துஃகாம்புஸஂரோதாத் relieve me from this ocean of grief, யதா that way, தாரயதி he helps me to cross, த்வம் you, ஸமாதாதும் to pacify, அர்ஹஸி you may.
"You must pacify the strong-armed Rama in a manner by which he will help me to cross the ocean of grief and rlieve me.
ஜீவந்தீஂ மாஂ யதா ராமஃ ஸம்பாவயதி கீர்திமாந்.
தத்ததா ஹநுமந்வாச்யஂ வாசா தர்மமவாப்நுஹி৷৷5.39.10৷৷

ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, கீர்திமாந் illustrious one, ராமஃ Rama, மாம் me, ஜீவந்தீம் while I am alove, யதா in such way, ஸம்பாவயதி will take me, தத் that, ததா that way, வாச்யம் words, வாசா tell, தர்மம் righteous, அவாப்நுஹி you will acquire.
"Let the illustrious Rama take me alive. Help me with your (persuasive) words and you will acquire merit.
நித்யமுத்ஸாஹயுக்தாஷ்ச வாசஷ்ருத்வா த்வயேரிதாஃ.
வர்திஷ்யதே தாஷரதேஃ பௌருஷஂ மதவாப்தயே৷৷5.39.11৷৷

த்வயா you, ஈரிதாஃ spoken, உத்ஸாஹயுக்தாஃ full of determination for action, வாசஃ words, நித்யம் ever, ஷ்ருத்வா after hearing, மதவாப்தயே for acquiring me, தாஷரதேஃ son of Dasaratha, பௌருஷம் manliness, வர்திஷ்யதே will increase.
"On hearing your ever spirited words his manliness to get me back will be charged.
மத்ஸந்தேஷயுதா வாசஸ்த்வத்தஷ்ஷ்ருத்வா ச ராகவஃ.
பராக்ரமவிதிஂ வீரோ விதிவத்ஸஂவிதாஸ்யதி৷৷5.39.12৷৷

வீரஃ hero, ராகவஃ Rama, த்வத்தஃ from you, மத்ஸந்தேஷயுதாஃ with repetition of my message, வாசஃ words, ஷ்ருத்வா after hearing, விதிவத் arrange duly, பராக்ரமவிதம் following his valour, ஸஂவிதாஸ்யதி will make efforts.
ஸீதாயா வசநஂ ஷ்ருத்வா ஹநுமாந்மாருதாத்மஜஃ.

மாருதாத்மஜஃ son of Maruta, ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, ஸீதாயாஃ Sita's, வசநம் words, ஷ்ருத்வா after listening, ஷிரஸி on his head, அஞ்ஜலிம் folded palms, ஆதாய placed, உத்தரம் replied, வாக்யம் these words, அப்ரவீத் said.
"Having heard Sita's words, Hanuman, son of Maruta, placed his folded palms over his head in reverence and replied:
க்ஷிப்ரமேஷ்யதி காகுத்ஸ்தோ ஹார்யரிக்ஷப்ரவரைர்வரிதஃ.
யஸ்தே யுதி விஜித்யாரீந்ஷோகஂ வ்யபநயிஷ்யதி৷৷5.39.14৷৷
யஸ்தே யுதி விஜித்யாரீந்ஷோகஂ வ்யபநயிஷ்யதி৷৷5.39.14৷৷
காகுத்ஸ்த: Kakutstha, ஹர்யரிக்ஷப்ரவரைஃ with vanaras and bears, க்ஷிப்ரம் at once, ஏஷ்யதி he will hasten, யஃ he, யுதி in war, அரீந் enemies, விஜித்ய winning over, தே your, ஷோகம் grief, வ்யபநயிஷ்யதி will relieve.
"Kakutstha Rama, accompanied by vanaras and bears will reach here soon and conquer the enemies in war and relieve your grief.
ந ஹி பஷ்யாமி மர்த்யேஷு நாஸுரேஷு ஸுரேஷு வா.
யஸ்தஸ்ய க்ஷிபதோ பாணாந்ஸ்தாதுமுத்ஸஹதேக்ரதஃ৷৷5.39.15৷৷
யஸ்தஸ்ய க்ஷிபதோ பாணாந்ஸ்தாதுமுத்ஸஹதேக்ரதஃ৷৷5.39.15৷৷
யஃ when he, பாணாந் arrows, க்ஷிபதஃ while he releases, தஸ்ய his, அக்ரதஃ in front, ஸ்தாதும் to stand, உத்ஸஹதே will have, மர்த்யேஷு among humans, நாஸுரேஷு or among demons, ஸுரேஷு வா or among gods, ந ஹி பஷ்யாமி I do not see.
"I do not see any one among humans or demons or even among gods who can face his arrows when released.
அப்யர்கமபி பர்ஜந்யமபி வைவஸ்வதஂ யமம்.
ஸ ஹி ஸோடுஂ ரணே ஷக்தஸ்தவ ஹேதோர்விஷேஷதஃ৷৷5.39.16৷৷

ஸஃ he, ரணே in war, அர்கமபி even the Sun, பர்ஜந்யமபி or the rain-god, வைவஸ்வதம் son of the Sun, யமம் Yama the lord of death, ஸோடும் to hear, ஷக்தஃ capable, தவ ஹேதோஃ for you, விஷேஷதஃ specially.
"Indeed, Rama is capable of conquering even the Sun-god, or the rain-god or Yama (the son of the Sun) specially for your sake.
ஸ ஹி ஸாகரபர்யந்தாஂ மஹீஂ ஷாஸிதுமீஹதி.
த்வந்நிமித்தோ ஹி ராமஸ்ய ஜயோ ஜநகநந்திநி৷৷5.39.17৷৷
த்வந்நிமித்தோ ஹி ராமஸ்ய ஜயோ ஜநகநந்திநி৷৷5.39.17৷৷
ஸஃ he, ஸாகரபர்யந்தாம் surrounded by the entire ocean, மஹீம் earth, ஷாஸிதும் to rule, அர்ஹதி ஹி is fit, ஜநகநந்திநி O Janaka's delight, ராமஸ்ய Rama's, ஜயஃ victory, த்வந்நிமித்தோ ஹி for your sake only.
"Rama is fit to rule the entire earth surrounded by the ocean. O delight of Janaka! he will succeed in serving your cause."
தஸ்ய தத்வசநஂ ஷ்ருத்வா ஸம்யக்ஸத்யஂ ஸுபாஷிதம்.
ஜாநகீ பஹுமேநேத வசநஂ சேதமப்ரவீத்৷৷5.39.18৷৷

ஜாநகீ Janaki, தஸ்ய his, ஸத்யம் truth, ஸம்யக் proper, ஸுபாஷிதம் good words, தத் that, வசநம் words, ஷ்ருத்வா on hearing, பஹுமேநே held in great esteem, அத then, இதம் thus, வசநஂ ச and the word, அப்ரவீத் said.
On hearing the truthful, proper, pleasing words by Hanuman whom she held in great esteem, Sita said this:
ததஸ்தஂ ப்ரஸ்திதஂ ஸீதா வீக்ஷமாணா புநஃ புநஃ.
பர்தரிஸ்நேஹாந்விதஂ வாக்யஂ ஸௌஹார்தாதநுமாநயத்৷৷5.39.19৷৷
பர்தரிஸ்நேஹாந்விதஂ வாக்யஂ ஸௌஹார்தாதநுமாநயத்৷৷5.39.19৷৷
ததஃ then, ஸீதா Sita, ப்ரஸ்திதம் ready to start, தம் him, புநஃ புநஃ again and again, வீக்ஷமாணா looking at, பர்தரிஸ்நேஹாந்விதம் conveying her love to Rama, வாக்யம் word, ஸௌஹார்தாத் good-hearted, அநுமாநயத் she made him understand.
Sita again and again looked at Hanuman who was about to start. She made him understand her words conveying her love for Rama.
யதி வா மந்யஸே வீர வஸைகாஹமரிந்தம.
கஸ்மிஂஷ்சித்ஸஂவரிதே தேஷே விஷ்ராந்தஃஷ்வோ கமிஷ்யஸி৷৷5.39.20৷৷
கஸ்மிஂஷ்சித்ஸஂவரிதே தேஷே விஷ்ராந்தஃஷ்வோ கமிஷ்யஸி৷৷5.39.20৷৷
அரிந்தம O destroyer of enemies, வீர hero, மந்யஸே யதி if you think so, கஸ்மிஂஷ்சித் some where, ஸஂவரிதே in a closed space, தேஷே in location, ஏகாஹம் for one day, வஸ you may stay, விஷ்ராந்தஃ rest, ஷ்வஃ tomorrow, கமிஷ்யஸி you may go.
"O destroyer of enemies! if you think of halting for a day you may do so in a solitary location and leave tomorrow.
மம சேதல்பபாக்யாயா ஸாந்நித்யாத்தவ வாநர.
அஸ்ய ஷோகஸ்ய மஹதோ முஹூர்தஂ மோக்ஷணஂ பவேத்৷৷5.39.21৷৷
அஸ்ய ஷோகஸ்ய மஹதோ முஹூர்தஂ மோக்ஷணஂ பவேத்৷৷5.39.21৷৷
வாநர vanara, தவ your, ஸாந்நித்யாத் by the presence, அல்பபாக்யாயாஃ of an unfortunate woman, மம to me, மஹதஃ great, அஸ்ய ஷோகஸ்ய from the suffering, முஹூர்தம் for a short while, மோக்ஷணம் relief, பவேத் சேத் will be.
"Your presence will relieve me of my suffering, if you stay here for a while.
கதே ஹி ஹரிஷார்தூல புநராகமநாய து.
ப்ராணாநாமபி ஸந்தேஹோ மம ஸ்யாந்நாத்ர ஸஂஷயஃ৷৷5.39.22৷৷
ப்ராணாநாமபி ஸந்தேஹோ மம ஸ்யாந்நாத்ர ஸஂஷயஃ৷৷5.39.22৷৷
ஹரிஷார்தூல O tiger among vanaras, புநராகமநாய for your visit once again, கதே when you go, மம for me, ப்ராணாநாமபி and for my life, ஸந்தேஹஃ doubt, ஸ்யாத் will be, அத்ர here, ஸந்தேஹஃ doubt, ந no.
"O tiger among vanaras! if you leave this place to come again, my life will be uncertain, (if your coming is uncertain). There is no doubt about it.
தவாதர்ஷநஜஃ ஷோகோ பூயோ மாஂ பரிதாபயேத்.
துஃகாத்துஃகபராமரிஷ்டாஂ தீபயந்நிவ வாநர৷৷5.39.23৷৷

வாநர vanara, துஃகாத் agonised, துஃகபராமரிஷ்டாம் agony increased further, மாம் me, தவ your,
அதர்ஷநஜஃ not seeing you, ஷோகஃ sorrow, தீபயந்நிவ as if inflamming my agony, பூயஃ again, பரிதாபயேத் it will trouble me.
"My agony would be increased further by not seeing you. It would be inflamming my agony and I would be even more pained.
அயஂ ச வீர ஸந்தேஹஸ்திஷ்டதீவ மமாக்ரதஃ.
ஸுமஹாஂஸ்த்வத்ஸஹாயேஷு ஹர்யரிக்ஷேஷு ஹரீஷ்வரஃ৷৷5.39.24৷৷

வீர hero, ஹரீஷ்வர chief of vanaras, த்வத்ஸஹாயேஷு your helpless, ஹர்யரிக்ஷேஷு among vanaras and bears, அயம் this, ஸுமஹாந் great, ஸந்தேஹஃ doubtful, மம அக்ரதஃ in front of me, திஷ்டதீவ dwells in my mind.
"O heroic chief of vanaras! I am doubtful as to whether vanaras and bears can extend help?
கதஂ நு கலு துஷ்பாரஂ தரிஷ்யந்தி மஹோததிம்.
தாநி ஹர்யரிக்ஷஸைந்யாநி தௌ வா நரவராத்மஜௌ৷৷5.39.25৷৷
தாநி ஹர்யரிக்ஷஸைந்யாநி தௌ வா நரவராத்மஜௌ৷৷5.39.25৷৷
தாநி those, ஹர்யரிக்ஷஸைந்யாநி army of vanaras and bears, தௌ they both, Rama and Lakshmana, நரவராத்மஜௌ princes, துஷ்பாரம் difficult to cross, மஹோததிம் ocean, கதஂ நு how indeed, தரிஷ்யந்தி they can cross.
"How can the army of vanaras and bears, for that matter, princes Rama and Lakshmana negotiate the ocean, which is difficult to cross?
த்ரயாணாமேவ பூதாநாஂ ஸாகரஸ்யாஸ்ய லங்கநே.
ஷக்திஸ்ஸ்யாத்வைநதேயஸ்ய தவ வா மாருதஸ்ய வா৷৷5.39.26৷৷
ஷக்திஸ்ஸ்யாத்வைநதேயஸ்ய தவ வா மாருதஸ்ய வா৷৷5.39.26৷৷
அஸ்ய of this, ஸாகரஸ்ய ocean's, லங்கநே to leap, வைநதேயஸ்ய வா for Bainateya (Garuda) or, தவ வா or you, மாருதஸ்ய or Wind-god வா or, த்ரயாணாம் for these three, பூதாநாம் living beings, ஷக்திஃ energy, ஸ்யாத் have.
"It is only three beings who have the capacity to leap over this ocean. Garuda, or you or the Wind-god.
ததஸ்மிந்கார்யநிர்யோகே வீரைவஂ துரதிக்ரமே.
கிஂ பஷ்யஸி ஸமாதாநஂ த்வஂ ஹி கார்யவிதாஂ வரஃ৷৷5.39.27৷৷
கிஂ பஷ்யஸி ஸமாதாநஂ த்வஂ ஹி கார்யவிதாஂ வரஃ৷৷5.39.27৷৷
வீர hero, தத் such, ஏவம் in that way, துரதிக்ரமே in a very difficult task, அஸ்மிந் in this, கார்யநிர்யோகே the task, கிம் what, ஸமாதாநம் means, பஷ்யஸி you foresee, த்வம் you, கார்யவிதாம் among those who are capable, வரஃ ஹி foremost.
"What means do you, being the foremost hero among the three who are capable performing this difficult task, foresee?
காமமஸ்ய த்வமேவைகஃ கார்யஸ்ய பரிஸாதநே.
பர்யாப்தஃ பரவீரக்ந யஷஸ்யஸ்தே பலோதயஃ৷৷5.39.28৷৷

பரவீரக்ந slayer of enemy heroes, அஸ்ய கார்யஸ்ய this task, பரிஸாதநே to accomplish, த்வம் you, ஏக ஏவ alone are, பர்யாப்தஃ காமம் are competent, தே to you, பலோதயஃ fruit, யஷஸ்யஃ of the accomplishment.
"O slayer of enemy heroes! if you alone can accomplish this task the fame of doing this will be yours.
பலைஸ்ஸமக்ரைர்யதி மாஂ ராவணஂ ஜித்ய ஸஂயுகே.
விஜயீ ஸ்வபுரஂ யாயாத்தத்தஸ்ய ஸதரிஷஂ பவேத்৷৷5.39.29৷৷

ஸஂயுகே in war, ஸமக்ரைஃ with the entire, பலைஃ with army, ராவணம் Ravana, ஜித்ய after winning, மாம் me, விஜயீ victorious , ஸ்வபுரம் his own city, யாயாத் யதி if he can reach, தத் that, தஸ்ய his, ஸதரிஷம் worthy of him, பவேத் will be.
"It would be worthy of Rama if he with his entire army emerges victorious over Ravana
in a battle and takes me to his city.
ஷரைஸ்து ஸங்குலாஂ கரித்வா லங்காஂ பரபலார்தநஃ.

பரபலார்தநஃ slayer of enemy army, காகுத்ஸ்தஃ Kakutstha, லங்காம் Lanka, ஷரைஃ with arrows, ஸங்குலாம் an agitated place, கரித்வா does, மாம் me, நயேத்யதி if he takes, தத் that, தஸ்ய his action, ஸதரிஷம் agreeable, பவேத் will be.
"If Kakutstha (Rama), slayer of the enemy army fills the entire Lanka with his arrows and takes me, then his action will be worthy of him.
தத்யதா தஸ்ய விக்ராந்தமநுரூபஂ மஹாத்மநஃ.
பவேதாஹவஷூரஸ்ய ததா த்வமுபபாதய৷৷5.39.31৷৷

தத் that, மஹாத்மநஃ of the great self, ஆஹவஷூரஸ்ய of the hero in war, தஸ்ய his, அநுரூபம் worthy of him, விக்ராந்தம் victorious, யதா in such a way, பவேத் will be, ததா in that way, த்வம் you, உபபாதய you may make arrangement.
"You may make arrangement in such a manner that, that great self, the hero in war makes his victorious march which is worthy of him."

Having heard the meaningful, courteous and logical words of Sita, Hanuman replied:
தேவி ஹர்யரிக்ஷஸைந்யாநாமீஷ்வரஃ ப்லவதாஂ வரஃ.
ஸுக்ரீவஸ்ஸத்த்வஸம்பந்நஸ்தவார்தே கரிதநிஷ்சயஃ৷৷5.39.33৷৷

தேவி Devi, ஹர்யரிக்ஷஸைந்யாநாம் of the army of vanaras and bears, ஈஷ்வரஃ lord, ப்லவதாஂ வரஃ foremost among monkeys, ஸத்த்வஸம்பந்நஃ richly endowed with satva-guna, ஸுக்ரீவஃ Sugriva, தவ அர்தே for your sake, கரிதநிஷ்சயஃ detemined to accomplish.
"O Devi! the lord of monkeys, Sugriva heads the army of vanaras and bears. He is richly endowed with satva-guna and is determined to accomplish your cause and free you from sorrow.
ஸ வாநரஸஹஸ்ராணாஂ கோடீபிரபிஸஂவரிதஃ.
க்ஷிப்ரமேஷ்யதி வைதேஹி ராக்ஷஸாநாஂ நிபர்ஹணஃ৷৷5.39.34৷৷

வைதேஹி Vaidehi, ஸஃ he, the Sugriva, வாநரஸஹஸ்ராணாம் of thousands of vanaras, கோடீபிஃ with crores of them, அபிஸஂவரிதஃ is surrounded, ராக்ஷஸாநாம் of all the ogres, நிபர்ஹணஃ will destroy, க்ஷிப்ரம் swiftly, ஏஷ்யதி he will reach.
"O Vaidehi! Sugriva will reach this place with thousands of crores of vanaras very soon and would kill all the ogres.
தஸ்ய விக்ரமஸம்பந்நாஸ்ஸத்த்வவந்தோ மஹாபலாஃ.
மநஸ்ஸங்கல்பஸம்பாதா நிதேஷே ஹரயஃ ஸ்திதாஃ৷৷5.39.35৷৷

விக்ரமஸம்பந்நாஃ powerful, ஸத்த்வவந்தஃ virtuous, மஹாபலாஃ mighty, மநஸ்ஸங்கல்பஸம்பாதாஃ who can leap with the speed of mind, ஹரயஃ vanaras, தஸ்ய his, நிதேஷே at his command, ஸ்திதாஃ awaiting.
"Valiant, virtuous and powerful vanaras who can leap with the speed of mind are awaiting orders (of Sugriva).
யேஷாஂ நோபரி நாதஸ்தாந்ந திர்யக்ஸஜ்ஜதே கதிஃ.
ந ச கர்மஸு ஸீதந்தி மஹத்ஸ்வமிததேஜஸஃ৷৷5.39.36৷৷

யேஷாம் for those monkeys, கதிஃ movement, உபரி upward, ந ஸஜ்ஜதே do not get impeded, அதஸ்தாத் downward, ந not, திர்யக் horizontally, ந not, அமிததேஜஸஃ very brilliant ones, மஹத்ஸு any kind, கர்மஸு of task, ந ஸீதந்தி do not care
"Their course cannot be impeded either upward, or downward or right or left. They are indeed very brilliant and would never fail in any task.
அஸகரித்தைர்மஹோத்ஸாஹைஸ்ஸஸாகரதராதரா.

மஹோத்ஸாஹைஃ by the enthusiastic, வாயுமார்காநுஸாரிபிஃ following aerial path, தைஃ by them, அஸகரித் repeatedly, ஸஸாகரதராதரா with the oceans and mountains, பூமிஃ earth, ப்ரதக்ஷிணீகரிதா has been circumambulated.
"They have often circumambulated the earth including its oceans and mountains through the aerial path with great enthusiasm.
மத்விஷிஷ்டாஷ்ச துல்யாஷ்ச ஸந்தி தத்ர வநௌகஸஃ.
மத்தஃ ப்ரத்யவரஃ கஷ்சிந்நாஸ்தி ஸுக்ரீவஸந்நிதௌ৷৷5.39.38৷৷
மத்தஃ ப்ரத்யவரஃ கஷ்சிந்நாஸ்தி ஸுக்ரீவஸந்நிதௌ৷৷5.39.38৷৷
தத்ர there, மத்விஷிஷ்டாஷ்ச more powerful than me, துல்யாஷ்ச those equal to me, வநௌகஸஃ vanaras who move in the forest, ஸந்தி are, மத்தஃ to me, ப்ரத்யவரஃ inferior, கஷ்சித் not even one, ஸுக்ரீவஸந்நிதௌ under Sugriva, நாஸ்தி not there.
"The vanaras under Sugriva who move in the forest are more powerful than me or equal to me. None is inferior to me.
அஹஂ தாவதிஹ ப்ராப்தஃ கிஂ புநஸ்தே மஹாபலாஃ.
ந ஹி ப்ரகரிஷ்டாஃ ப்ரேஷ்யந்தே ப்ரேஷ்யந்தே ஹீதரே ஜநாஃ৷৷5.39.39৷৷

அஹஂ தாவத் I have, இஹ here, அநுப்ராப்தஃ reached, மஹாபலாஃ very powerful, தே to you, கிஂ புநஃ why
not others, ப்ரகரிஷ்டாஃ the best ones, ந ப்ரேஷ்யந்தே ஹி will not be sent, இதரே others, ஜநாஃ ordinary ones, ப்ரேஷ்யந்தே ஹி will be sent.
"If I have managed to come here, why not the other powerful ones? The superior leaders are not sent (as messengers). Only ordinary ones like me are.
ததலஂ பரிதாபேந தேவி ஷோகோ வ்யபைது தே.
ஏகோத்பாதேந தே லங்காமேஷ்யந்தி ஹரியூதபாஃ৷৷5.39.40৷৷

தேவி noble lady, தத் therefore, பரிதாபேந with lamentation, அலம் enough, தே your, ஷோகஃ agony, வ்யபைது may be given up, தே those, ஹரியூதபாஃ monkey troops, ஏகோத்பாதேந in one stride, லங்காம் to Lanka, ஏஷ்யந்தி will reach.
"O noble lady! therefore, give up your agony. Enough of your lamentation. The monkey troops will reach this place in one stride.
மம பரிஷ்டகதௌ தௌ ச சந்த்ரஸூர்யாவிவோதிதௌ.
த்வத்ஸகாஷஂ மஹாஸத்த்வௌ நரிஸிஂஹாவாகமிஷ்யதஃ৷৷5.39.41৷৷

மஹாஸத்த்வௌ both great men, நரிஸிஂஹௌ both lions among men, தௌ ச and both, மம my, பரிஷ்டகதௌ on my back, உதிதௌ just risen, சந்த்ரஸூர்யாவிவ like Sun and Moon, த்வத்ஸகாஷம் to your presence, ஆகமிஷ்யதஃ will come.
"Both the valiant Rama and Lakshmana, lions among men, looking brilliant like Sun and Moon will come to you riding on my back.
ததோ வீரௌ நரவரௌ ஸஹிதௌ ராமலக்ஷ்மணௌ.
ஆகம்ய நகரீஂ லங்காஂ ஸாயகைர்விதமிஷ்யதஃ৷৷5.39.42৷৷
ஆகம்ய நகரீஂ லங்காஂ ஸாயகைர்விதமிஷ்யதஃ৷৷5.39.42৷৷
ததஃ then, வீரௌ two heroes, நரவரௌ both the princes, ராமலக்ஷ்மணௌ Rama and Lakshmana, ஸஹிதௌ together, ஆகம்ய on coming, லங்காஂ நகரீம் to the city of Lanka, ஸாயகைஃ with their arrows, விதமிஷ்யதஃ will blow away.
"Both the heroes, Rama and Lakshmana will come and blow up the city of Lanka with their unfailing arrows.
ஸகணஂ ராவணஂ ஹத்த்வா ராகவோ ரகுநந்தநஃ.
த்வாமாதாய வராரோஹே ஸ்வபுரீஂ ப்ரதியாஸ்யதி৷৷5.39.43৷৷
த்வாமாதாய வராரோஹே ஸ்வபுரீஂ ப்ரதியாஸ்யதி৷৷5.39.43৷৷
வராரோஹே O beautiful lady, ரகுநந்தநஃ the delight of the Raghu race, ராகவஃ Rama, ஸகணம் along with his kins, ராவணம் Ravana, ஹத்த்வா on killing, த்வாம் you, ஆதாய after taking you, ஸ்வபுரீம் their city, ப்ரதியாஸ்யதி would go back.
"O beautiful lady! Raghava, the delight of the Raghu race would kill Ravana and his kins and return with you to his city৷৷
ததாஷ்வஸிஹி பத்ரஂ தே பவ த்வஂ காலகாங்க்ஷிணீ.
நசிராத்த்ரக்ஷ்யஸே ராமஂ ப்ரஜ்வலந்தமிவாநலம்৷৷5.39.44৷৷
நசிராத்த்ரக்ஷ்யஸே ராமஂ ப்ரஜ்வலந்தமிவாநலம்৷৷5.39.44৷৷
தத் therefore, ஆஷ்வஸிஹி rest assured, தே பத்ரம் let it be auspicious to you, த்வம் you, காலகாங்க்ஷிணீ count your time, பவ be, ப்ரஜ்வலந்தம் burning, அநலம் இவ like the fire, ராமம் Rama, நசிராத் shortly, த்ரக்ஷ்யஸே would see.
"Therefore, count the days and rest assured. Let it be auspicious to you. You will shortly see Rama burning like fire.
நிஹதே ராக்ஷஸேந்த்ரேஸ்மிந்ஸபுத்ராமாத்யபாந்தவே.
த்வஂ ஸமேஷ்வஸி ராமேண ஷஷாங்கேநேவ ரோஹிணீ৷৷5.39.45৷৷
த்வஂ ஸமேஷ்வஸி ராமேண ஷஷாங்கேநேவ ரோஹிணீ৷৷5.39.45৷৷
ஸபுத்ராமாத்யபாந்தவே along with his sons, ministers and relatives, அஸ்மிந் when, ராக்ஷஸேந்த்ரே the king of demons, நிஹதே killed, த்வம் you, ரோஹிணீ Rohini, ஷஷாங்கேநேவ like the Moon, ராமேண with Rama, ஸமேஷ்யஸி you will reunite.
"When Ravana is slain, with his sons, ministers and kith and kin, you will reunite with
Rama as Rohini unites with the Moon.
க்ஷிப்ரஂ த்வஂ தேவி ஷோகஸ்ய பாரஂ யாஸ்யஸி மைதிலி.
ராவணஂ சைவ ராமேண நிஹதஂ த்ரக்ஷ்யஸேசிராத்৷৷5.39.46৷৷

தேவி queen, மைதிலி Mythili, த்வம் you, க்ஷிப்ரம் soon, ஷோகஸ்ய grief, பாரம் to the other shore, யாஸ்யஸி will go, அசிராத் very shortly, ராமேண by Rama, ராவணம் Ravana, நிஹதஂ slain, த்ரக்ஷ்யஸே சைவ you will see.
"O queen Mythili! you come to the end of your sorrow and will soon see Ravana killed by Rama".
ஏவமாஷ்வாஸ்ய வைதேஹீஂ ஹநுமாந்மாருதாத்மஜஃ.
கமநாய மதிஂ கரித்வா வைதேஹீஂ புநரப்ரவீத்৷৷5.39.47৷৷

மாருதாத்மஜஃ son of the Wind-god, ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, வைதேஹீம் to Vaidehi, ஏவம் in that manner, ஆஷ்வாஸ்ய having consoled, கமநாய to depart, மதிம் thought, கரித்வா after resolving, புநஃ again, வைதேஹீம் to Vaidehi, அப்ரவீத் said.
Having thus consoled Vaidehi, Hanuman, son of the Wind-god resolved to depart. Once again he spoke to Vadehi:
தமரிக்நஂ கரிதாத்மாநஂ க்ஷிப்ரஂ த்ரக்ஷ்யஸி ராகவம்.
லக்ஷ்மணஂ ச தநுஷ்பாணிஂ லங்காத்வாரமுபாகதம்৷৷5.39.48৷৷

லங்காத்வாரம் at the entrance of Lanka, உபாகதம் reached, அரிக்நம் slayer of foes, கரிதாத்மாநம் an accomplished man, தஂ ராகவம் that Rama, தநுஷ்பாணிம் wielder of bow, லக்ஷ்மணஂ ச and Lakshmana, க்ஷிப்ரம் very soon, த்ரக்ஷ்யஸி you will see.
"Very soon you would see the slayer of foes, who is an accomplished wielder of the bow (Rama) along with Lakshmana at the entrance of Lanka.
நகதஂஷ்ட்ராயுதாந்வீராந்ஸிம்ஹஷார்தூலவிக்ரமாந்.
வாநராந்வாரணேந்த்ராபாந்க்ஷிப்ரஂ த்ரக்ஷ்யஸி ஸங்கதாந்৷৷5.39.49৷৷

நகதஂஷ்ட்ராயுதாந் whose nails and teeth are their weapons, வீராந் heroes, ஸிஂஹஷார்தூலவிக்ரமாந் resembling lion and tiger in valour, வாரணேந்த்ராபாந் who resemble well-bred elephants, ஸங்கதாந் reach, வாநராந் vanaras, க்ஷிப்ரம் soon, த்ரக்ஷ்யஸி you will see.
"You will soon see heroic vanaras whose weapons are their teeth, who are like lion and tiger in their valour. They are (mighty) like well-bred elephants.
ஷைலாம்புதநிகாஷாநாஂ லங்காமலயஸாநுஷு.
நர்ததாஂ கபிமுக்யாநாமார்யே யூதாந்யநேகஷஃ৷৷5.39.50৷৷

ஆர்யே respectable lady!, ஷைலாம்புதநிகாஷாநாம் whose body is like clouds on mountain, நர்ததாம் of the roaring, கபிமுக்யாநாம் of the chiefs of vanaras, அநேகஷஃ in many ways, யூதாநி troops, லங்காமலயஸாநுஷு on the mountain of Lanka.
"O respectable lady! you would see many troops of vanara chiefs who resemble clouds hovering on the mountain peaks of Lanka-roaring.
ஸ து மர்மணி கோரேண தாடிதோ மந்மதேஷுணா.
ந ஷர்ம லபதே ராமஸ்ஸிஂஹார்தித இவ த்விபஃ৷৷5.39.51৷৷

ஸஃ ராமஃ that Rama, கோரேண by the dreadful, மந்மதேஷுணா arrows of god of love, மர்மணி pierced into vitals, தாடிதஃ hit, ஸிஂஹார்திதஃ hit by a lion, த்விபஃ இவ like an elephant, ந ஷர்ம லபதே is not happy
"Rama is tormented by the dreadful arrows of the god of love pierced into vitals, like an elephant hit by a lion. He has no happiness in life.
மா ருதோ தேவி ஷோகேந மாபூத்தே மநஸோப்ரியம்.
ஷசீவ பத்யா ஷக்ரேண பர்த்ரா நாதவதீ ஹ்யஸி৷৷5.39.52৷৷

தேவி devi, ஷோகேந with sorrow, மா ருதஃ do not cry, தே your, மநஸஃ in mind, அப்ரியம் unpleasant, மாபூத் no thought be entertained, பத்யா with a husband ஷக்ரேண to Indra, ஷசீவ like Sachi, பர்த்ரா by your husband, நாதவதீ you have a great husband, அஸி ஹி you are.
"O devi! weep no more.Entertain no unpleasant thoughts.You have a great husband, just as Sachi has her lord Indra.
ராமாத்விஷிஷ்டஃ கோந்யோஸ்தி கஷ்சித்ஸௌமித்ரிணா ஸமஃ.
அக்நிமாருதகல்பௌ தௌ ப்ராதரௌ தவ ஸஂஷ்ரயௌ৷৷5.39.53৷৷

ராமாத் than Rama, விஷிஷ்டஃ more distinguished, அந்யஃ others, கஃ who is there, அஸ்தி is, ஸௌமித்ரிணா to Lakshmana, ஸமஃ equal, கஷ்சித் who is there, அக்நிமாருதகல்பௌ equal to fire and wind, தௌ ப்ராதரௌ both brothers, தவ your, ஸஂஷ்ரயௌ they are your refuge.
"Who is superior to Rama? Who is equal to Lakshmana? Both the brothers are like Fire and Wind. They are your refuge.
நாஸ்மிஂஷ்சிரஂ வத்ஸ்யஸி தேவி தேஷே ரக்ஷோகணைரத்யுஷிதேதிரௌத்ரே.
ந தே சிராதாமகமநஂ ப்ரியஸ்ய க்ஷமஸ்வ மத்ஸங்கமகாலமாத்ரம்৷৷5.39.54৷৷

தேவி noble lady, ரக்ஷோகணைஃ by the hosts of ogres, அத்யுஷிதே in a stronghold, அதிரௌத்ரே in a dreadful place, அஸ்மிந் தேஷே country, சிரம் not very long, ந வத்ஸ்யஸி will not stay, தே ப்ரியஸ்ய with your beloved, ஆகமநம் coming, ந சிராத் not very long, மத்ஸங்கமகாலமாத்ரம் for this period, க்ஷமஸ்வ pardon me.
"O noble lady! You will not stay longer in this country, which is a strong hold of hosts of demons and a dreadful place It will not be very long before you unite with your beloved. Pray, have patience till then.
இத்யார்ஷே ஷ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே வால்மீகீய ஆதிகாவ்யே ஸுந்தரகாண்டே ஏகோநசத்வாரிஂஷஸ்ஸர்கஃ৷৷
