[Sita further appeals to Hanuman]

మణిం దత్త్వా తతః సీతా హనూమన్తమథాబ్రవీత్.

అభిజ్ఞానమభిజ్ఞాతమేతద్రామస్య తత్త్వతః৷৷5.39.1৷৷

సీతా Sita, మణిం Jewel, దత్త్వా having given, తతః that way, హనూమన్తమ్ to Hanuman, అబ్రవీత్ said, ఏతత్ this, రామస్య to Rama, అభిజ్ఞాత known, తత్త్వతః truly, అభిజ్ఞానమ్ signet.

Sita gave the jewel to Hanuman and said, "This signet ornament is known to Rama very well".

మణిం తు దృష్ట్వా రామో వై త్రయాణాం సంస్మరిష్యతి.

వీరో జనన్యా మమ చ రాజ్ఞో దశరథస్య చ৷৷5.39.2৷৷

మణిమ్ jewel, దృష్ట్వా after seeing, రామః Rama, త్రయాణామ్ of three of us, జనన్యాః of the mother, మమ చ me and, రాజ్ఞః king, దశరథస్య చ Dasaratha and, సంస్మరిష్యతి will recall.

"Seeing this jewel,Rama will recall three of us, my mother, myself and the king Dasaratha" (as this was given by her mother at her marriage.)

స భూయస్త్వం సముత్సాహే చోదితో హరిసత్తమ.

అస్మిన్కార్యసమారమ్భే ప్రచిన్తయ యదుత్తరమ్৷৷5.39.3৷৷

హరిసత్తమ great Hanuman, సః such Rama, త్వమ్ you, భూయః again, సముత్సాహచోదితః prompted by enthusiasm, అస్మిన్ in this, కార్యసమారమ్భే in this effort, యత్ that, ఉత్తరమ్ now, ప్రచిన్తయ think over.

"Great Hanuman! you are enthused now. You may think over the future course of action.

త్వమస్మిన్కార్యనిర్యోగే ప్రమాణం హరిసత్తమ.

హనుమన్యత్నమాస్థాయ దుఃఖక్షయకరో భవ৷৷5.39.4৷৷

తస్య చిన్తయతో యత్నో దుఃఖక్షయకరో భవేత్.

హరిసత్తమ O best of monkeys, అస్మిన్ in this, కార్యనిర్యోగే in carrying out this task, త్వమ్ you, ప్రమాణమ్ are responsible, హనుమాన్ Hanuman, యత్నమ్ initiative, ఆస్థాయ after making, దుఃఖక్షయకరః reducer of suffering, భవ you are, తస్య for him, చిన్తయతః thinking, యత్నః effort, దుఃఖక్షయకరః reducer of grief, భవేత్ become.

"O best of monkeys! it is your responsibility to carry out this task. O Hanuman! think carefully of that. Take the initiative to reduce my suffering. I am confident that you can do it."

స తథేతి ప్రతిజ్ఞాయ మారుతిర్భీమవిక్రమః৷৷5.39.5৷৷

శిరసా వన్ధ్య వైదేహీం గమనాయోపచక్రమే.

భీమవిక్రమః possessed with fierceful valour, సః మారుతిః that Maruti, తథేతి so be it, ప్రతిజ్ఞాయ promised, వైదేహీమ్ to Vaidehi, శిరసా with his head, వన్ధ్య having offered salutation, గమనాయ to depart, ఉపచక్రమే started.

Hanuman possessed with fierce valour said to Vaidehi, 'so be it' and bowed his head, and offered salutations before he departed.

జ్ఞాత్వా సమ్ప్రస్థితం దేవీ వానరం మారుతాత్మజమ్৷৷5.39.6৷৷

బాష్పగద్గదయా వాచా మైథిలీ వాక్యమబ్రవీత్.

దేవీ noble lady, మైథిలీ Mythili, మారుతాత్మజమ్ Maruti's son, వానరమ్ vanara, సమ్ప్రస్థితమ్ who had started, జ్ఞాత్వా having realised, బాష్పగద్గదయా with voice choked with tears, వాచా with speech, వాక్యమ్ these words, అబ్రవీత్ said.

The noble lady, Sita, having been fully convinced about Hanuman and realising that he is about to start, her voice was choked with tears. She said these words:

కుశలం హనుమన్బ్రూయాః సహితౌ రామలక్ష్మణౌ৷৷5.39.7৷৷

సుగ్రీవం చ సహామాత్యం వృద్ధాన్ సర్వాంశ్చ వానరాన్.

బ్రూయాస్త్వం వానరశ్రేష్ఠ కుశలం ధర్మసంహితమ్৷৷5.39.8৷৷

వానరశ్రేష్ఠః O great vanara, హనుమన్ O Hanuman, సహితౌ both, రామలక్ష్మణౌ Rama and Lakshmana, కుశలమ్ welfare, బ్రూయాః you may communicate, సహామాత్యమ్ along with his ministers, సుగ్రీవం చ and Sugriva, వృద్ధాన్ elders, సర్వాన్ all, వానరాన్ vanaras, త్వమ్ you, ధర్మసంహితమ్ righteous manner, కుశలమ్ welfare, బ్రూయాః you may communicate

"O Hanuman the great! communicate my welfare to both Rama and Lakshmana, to Sugriva, his ministers, elderly vanaras in righteous order.

యథా స చ మహాబాహుర్మాం తారయతి రాఘవః.

అస్మాద్ధుఃఖామ్బుసంరోధాత్త్వం సమాధాతుమర్హసి৷৷5.39.9৷৷

మహాబాహుః strong-armed, సః రాఘవః that Rama, అస్మాత్ from this, దుఃఖామ్బుసంరోధాత్ relieve me from this ocean of grief, యథా that way, తారయతి he helps me to cross, త్వమ్ you, సమాధాతుమ్ to pacify, అర్హసి you may.

"You must pacify the strong-armed Rama in a manner by which he will help me to cross the ocean of grief and rlieve me.

జీవన్తీం మాం యథా రామః సమ్భావయతి కీర్తిమాన్.

తత్తథా హనుమన్వాచ్యం వాచా ధర్మమవాప్నుహి৷৷5.39.10৷৷

హనుమాన్ Hanuman, కీర్తిమాన్ illustrious one, రామః Rama, మామ్ me, జీవన్తీమ్ while I am alove, యథా in such way, సమ్భావయతి will take me, తత్ that, తథా that way, వాచ్యమ్ words, వాచా tell, ధర్మమ్ righteous, అవాప్నుహి you will acquire.

"Let the illustrious Rama take me alive. Help me with your (persuasive) words and you will acquire merit.

నిత్యముత్సాహయుక్తాశ్చ వాచశ్రుత్వా త్వయేరితాః.

వర్ధిష్యతే దాశరథేః పౌరుషం మదవాప్తయే৷৷5.39.11৷৷

త్వయా you, ఈరితాః spoken, ఉత్సాహయుక్తాః full of determination for action, వాచః words, నిత్యమ్ ever, శ్రుత్వా after hearing, మదవాప్తయే for acquiring me, దాశరథేః son of Dasaratha, పౌరుషమ్ manliness, వర్ధిష్యతే will increase.

"On hearing your ever spirited words his manliness to get me back will be charged.

మత్సన్దేశయుతా వాచస్త్వత్తశ్శ్రుత్వా చ రాఘవః.

పరాక్రమవిధిం వీరో విధివత్సంవిధాస్యతి৷৷5.39.12৷৷

వీరః hero, రాఘవః Rama, త్వత్తః from you, మత్సన్దేశయుతాః with repetition of my message, వాచః words, శ్రుత్వా after hearing, విధివత్ arrange duly, పరాక్రమవిధమ్ following his valour, సంవిధాస్యతి will make efforts.

సీతాయా వచనం శ్రుత్వా హనుమాన్మారుతాత్మజః.

శిరస్యఞ్జలిమాధాయ వాక్యముత్తరమబ్రవీత్৷৷5.39.13৷৷

మారుతాత్మజః son of Maruta, హనుమాన్ Hanuman, సీతాయాః Sita's, వచనమ్ words, శ్రుత్వా after listening, శిరసి on his head, అఞ్జలిమ్ folded palms, ఆధాయ placed, ఉత్తరమ్ replied, వాక్యమ్ these words, అబ్రవీత్ said.

"Having heard Sita's words, Hanuman, son of Maruta, placed his folded palms over his head in reverence and replied:

క్షిప్రమేష్యతి కాకుత్స్థో హార్యృక్షప్రవరైర్వృతః.

యస్తే యుధి విజిత్యారీన్శోకం వ్యపనయిష్యతి৷৷5.39.14৷৷

కాకుత్స్థ: Kakutstha, హర్యృక్షప్రవరైః with vanaras and bears, క్షిప్రమ్ at once, ఏష్యతి he will hasten, యః he, యుధి in war, అరీన్ enemies, విజిత్య winning over, తే your, శోకమ్ grief, వ్యపనయిష్యతి will relieve.

"Kakutstha Rama, accompanied by vanaras and bears will reach here soon and conquer the enemies in war and relieve your grief.

న హి పశ్యామి మర్త్యేషు నాసురేషు సురేషు వా.

యస్తస్య క్షిపతో బాణాన్స్థాతుముత్సహతేగ్రతః৷৷5.39.15৷৷

యః when he, బాణాన్ arrows, క్షిపతః while he releases, తస్య his, అగ్రతః in front, స్థాతుమ్ to stand, ఉత్సహతే will have, మర్త్యేషు among humans, నాసురేషు or among demons, సురేషు వా or among gods, న హి పశ్యామి I do not see.

"I do not see any one among humans or demons or even among gods who can face his arrows when released.

అప్యర్కమపి పర్జన్యమపి వైవస్వతం యమమ్.

స హి సోఢుం రణే శక్తస్తవ హేతోర్విశేషతః৷৷5.39.16৷৷

సః he, రణే in war, అర్కమపి even the Sun, పర్జన్యమపి or the rain-god, వైవస్వతమ్ son of the Sun, యమమ్ Yama the lord of death, సోఢుమ్ to hear, శక్తః capable, తవ హేతోః for you, విశేషతః specially.

"Indeed, Rama is capable of conquering even the Sun-god, or the rain-god or Yama (the son of the Sun) specially for your sake.

స హి సాగరపర్యన్తాం మహీం శాసితుమీహతి.

త్వన్నిమిత్తో హి రామస్య జయో జనకనన్దిని৷৷5.39.17৷৷

సః he, సాగరపర్యన్తామ్ surrounded by the entire ocean, మహీమ్ earth, శాసితుమ్ to rule, అర్హతి హి is fit, జనకనన్దిని O Janaka's delight, రామస్య Rama's, జయః victory, త్వన్నిమిత్తో హి for your sake only.

"Rama is fit to rule the entire earth surrounded by the ocean. O delight of Janaka! he will succeed in serving your cause."

తస్య తద్వచనం శ్రుత్వా సమ్యక్సత్యం సుభాషితమ్.

జానకీ బహుమేనేథ వచనం చేదమబ్రవీత్৷৷5.39.18৷৷

జానకీ Janaki, తస్య his, సత్యమ్ truth, సమ్యక్ proper, సుభాషితమ్ good words, తత్ that, వచనమ్ words, శ్రుత్వా on hearing, బహుమేనే held in great esteem, అథ then, ఇదమ్ thus, వచనం చ and the word, అబ్రవీత్ said.

On hearing the truthful, proper, pleasing words by Hanuman whom she held in great esteem, Sita said this:

తతస్తం ప్రస్థితం సీతా వీక్షమాణా పునః పునః.

భర్తృస్నేహాన్వితం వాక్యం సౌహార్దాదనుమానయత్৷৷5.39.19৷৷

తతః then, సీతా Sita, ప్రస్థితమ్ ready to start, తమ్ him, పునః పునః again and again, వీక్షమాణా looking at, భర్తృస్నేహాన్వితమ్ conveying her love to Rama, వాక్యమ్ word, సౌహార్దాత్ good-hearted, అనుమానయత్ she made him understand.

Sita again and again looked at Hanuman who was about to start. She made him understand her words conveying her love for Rama.

యది వా మన్యసే వీర వసైకాహమరిన్దమ.

కస్మింశ్చిత్సంవృతే దేశే విశ్రాన్తఃశ్వో గమిష్యసి৷৷5.39.20৷৷

అరిన్దమ O destroyer of enemies, వీర hero, మన్యసే యది if you think so, కస్మింశ్చిత్ some where, సంవృతే in a closed space, దేశే in location, ఏకాహమ్ for one day, వస you may stay, విశ్రాన్తః rest, శ్వః tomorrow, గమిష్యసి you may go.

"O destroyer of enemies! if you think of halting for a day you may do so in a solitary location and leave tomorrow.

మమ చేదల్పభాగ్యాయా సాన్నిధ్యాత్తవ వానర.

అస్య శోకస్య మహతో ముహూర్తం మోక్షణం భవేత్৷৷5.39.21৷৷

వానర vanara, తవ your, సాన్నిధ్యాత్ by the presence, అల్పభాగ్యాయాః of an unfortunate woman, మమ to me, మహతః great, అస్య శోకస్య from the suffering, ముహూర్తమ్ for a short while, మోక్షణమ్ relief, భవేత్ చేత్ will be.

"Your presence will relieve me of my suffering, if you stay here for a while.

గతే హి హరిశార్దూల పునరాగమనాయ తు.

ప్రాణానామపి సన్దేహో మమ స్యాన్నాత్ర సంశయః৷৷5.39.22৷৷

హరిశార్దూల O tiger among vanaras, పునరాగమనాయ for your visit once again, గతే when you go, మమ for me, ప్రాణానామపి and for my life, సన్దేహః doubt, స్యాత్ will be, అత్ర here, సన్దేహః doubt, న no.

"O tiger among vanaras! if you leave this place to come again, my life will be uncertain, (if your coming is uncertain). There is no doubt about it.

తవాదర్శనజః శోకో భూయో మాం పరితాపయేత్.

దుఃఖాద్ధుఃఖపరామృష్టాం దీపయన్నివ వానర৷৷5.39.23৷৷

వానర vanara, దుఃఖాత్ agonised, దుఃఖపరామృష్టామ్ agony increased further, మామ్ me, తవ your,
అదర్శనజః not seeing you, శోకః sorrow, దీపయన్నివ as if inflamming my agony, భూయః again, పరితాపయేత్ it will trouble me.

"My agony would be increased further by not seeing you. It would be inflamming my agony and I would be even more pained.

అయం చ వీర సన్దేహస్తిష్ఠతీవ మమాగ్రతః.

సుమహాంస్త్వత్సహాయేషు హర్యృక్షేషు హరీశ్వరః৷৷5.39.24৷৷

వీర hero, హరీశ్వర chief of vanaras, త్వత్సహాయేషు your helpless, హర్యృక్షేషు among vanaras and bears, అయమ్ this, సుమహాన్ great, సన్దేహః doubtful, మమ అగ్రతః in front of me, తిష్ఠతీవ dwells in my mind.

"O heroic chief of vanaras! I am doubtful as to whether vanaras and bears can extend help?

కథం ను ఖలు దుష్పారం తరిష్యన్తి మహోదధిమ్.

తాని హర్యృక్షసైన్యాని తౌ వా నరవరాత్మజౌ৷৷5.39.25৷৷

తాని those, హర్యృక్షసైన్యాని army of vanaras and bears, తౌ they both, Rama and Lakshmana, నరవరాత్మజౌ princes, దుష్పారమ్ difficult to cross, మహోదధిమ్ ocean, కథం ను how indeed, తరిష్యన్తి they can cross.

"How can the army of vanaras and bears, for that matter, princes Rama and Lakshmana negotiate the ocean, which is difficult to cross?

త్రయాణామేవ భూతానాం సాగరస్యాస్య లఙ్ఘనే.

శక్తిస్స్యాద్వైనతేయస్య తవ వా మారుతస్య వా৷৷5.39.26৷৷

అస్య of this, సాగరస్య ocean's, లఙ్ఘనే to leap, వైనతేయస్య వా for Bainateya (Garuda) or, తవ వా or you, మారుతస్య or Wind-god వా or, త్రయాణామ్ for these three, భూతానామ్ living beings, శక్తిః energy, స్యాత్ have.

"It is only three beings who have the capacity to leap over this ocean. Garuda, or you or the Wind-god.

తదస్మిన్కార్యనిర్యోగే వీరైవం దురతిక్రమే.

కిం పశ్యసి సమాధానం త్వం హి కార్యవిదాం వరః৷৷5.39.27৷৷

వీర hero, తత్ such, ఏవమ్ in that way, దురతిక్రమే in a very difficult task, అస్మిన్ in this, కార్యనిర్యోగే the task, కిమ్ what, సమాధానమ్ means, పశ్యసి you foresee, త్వమ్ you, కార్యవిదామ్ among those who are capable, వరః హి foremost.

"What means do you, being the foremost hero among the three who are capable performing this difficult task, foresee?

కామమస్య త్వమేవైకః కార్యస్య పరిసాధనే.

పర్యాప్తః పరవీరఘ్న యశస్యస్తే ఫలోదయః৷৷5.39.28৷৷

పరవీరఘ్న slayer of enemy heroes, అస్య కార్యస్య this task, పరిసాధనే to accomplish, త్వమ్ you, ఏక ఏవ alone are, పర్యాప్తః కామమ్ are competent, తే to you, ఫలోదయః fruit, యశస్యః of the accomplishment.

"O slayer of enemy heroes! if you alone can accomplish this task the fame of doing this will be yours.

బలైస్సమగ్రైర్యది మాం రావణం జిత్య సంయుగే.

విజయీ స్వపురం యాయాత్తత్తస్య సదృశం భవేత్৷৷5.39.29৷৷

సంయుగే in war, సమగ్రైః with the entire, బలైః with army, రావణమ్ Ravana, జిత్య after winning, మామ్ me, విజయీ victorious , స్వపురమ్ his own city, యాయాత్ యది if he can reach, తత్ that, తస్య his, సదృశమ్ worthy of him, భవేత్ will be.

"It would be worthy of Rama if he with his entire army emerges victorious over Ravana
in a battle and takes me to his city.

శరైస్తు సఙ్కులాం కృత్వా లఙ్కాం పరబలార్దనః.

మాం నయేద్యది కాకుత్స్థః తత్తస్య సదృశం భవేత్৷৷5.39.30৷৷

పరబలార్దనః slayer of enemy army, కాకుత్స్థః Kakutstha, లఙ్కామ్ Lanka, శరైః with arrows, సఙ్కులామ్ an agitated place, కృత్వా does, మామ్ me, నయేద్యది if he takes, తత్ that, తస్య his action, సదృశమ్ agreeable, భవేత్ will be.

"If Kakutstha (Rama), slayer of the enemy army fills the entire Lanka with his arrows and takes me, then his action will be worthy of him.

తద్యథా తస్య విక్రాన్తమనురూపం మహాత్మనః.

భవేదాహవశూరస్య తథా త్వముపపాదయ৷৷5.39.31৷৷

తత్ that, మహాత్మనః of the great self, ఆహవశూరస్య of the hero in war, తస్య his, అనురూపమ్ worthy of him, విక్రాన్తమ్ victorious, యథా in such a way, భవేత్ will be, తథా in that way, త్వమ్ you, ఉపపాదయ you may make arrangement.

"You may make arrangement in such a manner that, that great self, the hero in war makes his victorious march which is worthy of him."

తదర్థోపహితం వాక్యం ప్రశ్రితం హేతుసంహితమ్.

నిశమ్య హనుమాన్శేషం వాక్యముత్తరమబ్రవీత్৷৷5.39.32৷৷

హనుమాన్ Hanuman, అర్థోపహితమ్ meaningful, ప్రశ్రితమ్ courteous, హేతుసంహితమ్ logical, తత్ those, వాక్యమ్ words, నిశమ్య having heard, శేషమ్ the rest, వాక్యమ్ word, అబ్రవీత్ said, ఉత్తరం in reply.

Having heard the meaningful, courteous and logical words of Sita, Hanuman replied:

దేవి హర్యృక్షసైన్యానామీశ్వరః ప్లవతాం వరః.

సుగ్రీవస్సత్త్వసమ్పన్నస్తవార్థే కృతనిశ్చయః৷৷5.39.33৷৷

దేవి Devi, హర్యృక్షసైన్యానామ్ of the army of vanaras and bears, ఈశ్వరః lord, ప్లవతాం వరః foremost among monkeys, సత్త్వసమ్పన్నః richly endowed with satva-guna, సుగ్రీవః Sugriva, తవ అర్ధే for your sake, కృతనిశ్చయః detemined to accomplish.

"O Devi! the lord of monkeys, Sugriva heads the army of vanaras and bears. He is richly endowed with satva-guna and is determined to accomplish your cause and free you from sorrow.

స వానరసహస్రాణాం కోటీభిరభిసంవృతః.

క్షిప్రమేష్యతి వైదేహి రాక్షసానాం నిబర్హణః৷৷5.39.34৷৷

వైదేహి Vaidehi, సః he, the Sugriva, వానరసహస్రాణామ్ of thousands of vanaras, కోటీభిః with crores of them, అభిసంవృతః is surrounded, రాక్షసానామ్ of all the ogres, నిబర్హణః will destroy, క్షిప్రమ్ swiftly, ఏష్యతి he will reach.

"O Vaidehi! Sugriva will reach this place with thousands of crores of vanaras very soon and would kill all the ogres.

తస్య విక్రమసమ్పన్నాస్సత్త్వవన్తో మహాబలాః.

మనస్సఙ్కల్పసమ్పాతా నిదేశే హరయః స్థితాః৷৷5.39.35৷৷

విక్రమసమ్పన్నాః powerful, సత్త్వవన్తః virtuous, మహాబలాః mighty, మనస్సఙ్కల్పసమ్పాతాః who can leap with the speed of mind, హరయః vanaras, తస్య his, నిదేశే at his command, స్థితాః awaiting.

"Valiant, virtuous and powerful vanaras who can leap with the speed of mind are awaiting orders (of Sugriva).

యేషాం నోపరి నాధస్తాన్న తిర్యక్సజ్జతే గతిః.

న చ కర్మసు సీదన్తి మహత్స్వమితతేజసః৷৷5.39.36৷৷

యేషామ్ for those monkeys, గతిః movement, ఉపరి upward, న సజ్జతే do not get impeded, అధస్తాత్ downward, న not, తిర్యక్ horizontally, న not, అమితతేజసః very brilliant ones, మహత్సు any kind, కర్మసు of task, న సీదన్తి do not care

"Their course cannot be impeded either upward, or downward or right or left. They are indeed very brilliant and would never fail in any task.

అసకృత్తైర్మహోత్సాహైస్ససాగరధరాధరా.

ప్రదక్షిణీకృతా భూమిర్వాయుమార్గానుసారిభిః৷৷5.39.37৷৷

మహోత్సాహైః by the enthusiastic, వాయుమార్గానుసారిభిః following aerial path, తైః by them, అసకృత్ repeatedly, ససాగరధరాధరా with the oceans and mountains, భూమిః earth, ప్రదక్షిణీకృతా has been circumambulated.

"They have often circumambulated the earth including its oceans and mountains through the aerial path with great enthusiasm.

మద్విశిష్టాశ్చ తుల్యాశ్చ సన్తి తత్ర వనౌకసః.

మత్తః ప్రత్యవరః కశ్చిన్నాస్తి సుగ్రీవసన్నిధౌ৷৷5.39.38৷৷

తత్ర there, మద్విశిష్టాశ్చ more powerful than me, తుల్యాశ్చ those equal to me, వనౌకసః vanaras who move in the forest, సన్తి are, మత్తః to me, ప్రత్యవరః inferior, కశ్చిత్ not even one, సుగ్రీవసన్నిధౌ under Sugriva, నాస్తి not there.

"The vanaras under Sugriva who move in the forest are more powerful than me or equal to me. None is inferior to me.

అహం తావదిహ ప్రాప్తః కిం పునస్తే మహాబలాః.

న హి ప్రకృష్టాః ప్రేష్యన్తే ప్రేష్యన్తే హీతరే జనాః৷৷5.39.39৷৷

అహం తావత్ I have, ఇహ here, అనుప్రాప్తః reached, మహాబలాః very powerful, తే to you, కిం పునః why
not others, ప్రకృష్టాః the best ones, న ప్రేష్యన్తే హి will not be sent, ఇతరే others, జనాః ordinary ones, ప్రేష్యన్తే హి will be sent.

"If I have managed to come here, why not the other powerful ones? The superior leaders are not sent (as messengers). Only ordinary ones like me are.

తదలం పరితాపేన దేవి శోకో వ్యపైతు తే.

ఏకోత్పాతేన తే లఙ్కామేష్యన్తి హరియూథపాః৷৷5.39.40৷৷

దేవి noble lady, తత్ therefore, పరితాపేన with lamentation, అలమ్ enough, తే your, శోకః agony, వ్యపైతు may be given up, తే those, హరియూథపాః monkey troops, ఏకోత్పాతేన in one stride, లఙ్కామ్ to Lanka, ఏష్యన్తి will reach.

"O noble lady! therefore, give up your agony. Enough of your lamentation. The monkey troops will reach this place in one stride.

మమ పృష్ఠగతౌ తౌ చ చన్ద్రసూర్యావివోదితౌ.

త్వత్సకాశం మహాసత్త్వౌ నృసింహావాగమిష్యతః৷৷5.39.41৷৷

మహాసత్త్వౌ both great men, నృసింహౌ both lions among men, తౌ చ and both, మమ my, పృష్ఠగతౌ on my back, ఉదితౌ just risen, చన్ద్రసూర్యావివ like Sun and Moon, త్వత్సకాశమ్ to your presence, ఆగమిష్యతః will come.

"Both the valiant Rama and Lakshmana, lions among men, looking brilliant like Sun and Moon will come to you riding on my back.

తతో వీరౌ నరవరౌ సహితౌ రామలక్ష్మణౌ.

ఆగమ్య నగరీం లఙ్కాం సాయకైర్విధమిష్యతః৷৷5.39.42৷৷

తతః then, వీరౌ two heroes, నరవరౌ both the princes, రామలక్ష్మణౌ Rama and Lakshmana, సహితౌ together, ఆగమ్య on coming, లఙ్కాం నగరీమ్ to the city of Lanka, సాయకైః with their arrows, విధమిష్యతః will blow away.

"Both the heroes, Rama and Lakshmana will come and blow up the city of Lanka with their unfailing arrows.

సగణం రావణం హత్త్వా రాఘవో రఘునన్దనః.

త్వామాదాయ వరారోహే స్వపురీం ప్రతియాస్యతి৷৷5.39.43৷৷

వరారోహే O beautiful lady, రఘునన్దనః the delight of the Raghu race, రాఘవః Rama, సగణమ్ along with his kins, రావణమ్ Ravana, హత్త్వా on killing, త్వామ్ you, ఆదాయ after taking you, స్వపురీమ్ their city, ప్రతియాస్యతి would go back.

"O beautiful lady! Raghava, the delight of the Raghu race would kill Ravana and his kins and return with you to his city৷৷

తదాశ్వసిహి భద్రం తే భవ త్వం కాలకాఙ్క్షిణీ.

నచిరాద్ద్రక్ష్యసే రామం ప్రజ్వలన్తమివానలమ్৷৷5.39.44৷৷

తత్ therefore, ఆశ్వసిహి rest assured, తే భద్రమ్ let it be auspicious to you, త్వమ్ you, కాలకాఙ్క్షిణీ count your time, భవ be, ప్రజ్వలన్తమ్ burning, అనలమ్ ఇవ like the fire, రామమ్ Rama, నచిరాత్ shortly, ద్రక్ష్యసే would see.

"Therefore, count the days and rest assured. Let it be auspicious to you. You will shortly see Rama burning like fire.

నిహతే రాక్షసేన్ద్రేస్మిన్సపుత్రామాత్యబాన్ధవే.

త్వం సమేష్వసి రామేణ శశాఙ్కేనేవ రోహిణీ৷৷5.39.45৷৷

సపుత్రామాత్యబాన్ధవే along with his sons, ministers and relatives, అస్మిన్ when, రాక్షసేన్ద్రే the king of demons, నిహతే killed, త్వమ్ you, రోహిణీ Rohini, శశాఙ్కేనేవ like the Moon, రామేణ with Rama, సమేష్యసి you will reunite.

"When Ravana is slain, with his sons, ministers and kith and kin, you will reunite with
Rama as Rohini unites with the Moon.

క్షిప్రం త్వం దేవి శోకస్య పారం యాస్యసి మైథిలి.

రావణం చైవ రామేణ నిహతం ద్రక్ష్యసేచిరాత్৷৷5.39.46৷৷

దేవి queen, మైథిలి Mythili, త్వమ్ you, క్షిప్రమ్ soon, శోకస్య grief, పారమ్ to the other shore, యాస్యసి will go, అచిరాత్ very shortly, రామేణ by Rama, రావణమ్ Ravana, నిహతం slain, ద్రక్ష్యసే చైవ you will see.

"O queen Mythili! you come to the end of your sorrow and will soon see Ravana killed by Rama".

ఏవమాశ్వాస్య వైదేహీం హనుమాన్మారుతాత్మజః.

గమనాయ మతిం కృత్వా వైదేహీం పునరబ్రవీత్৷৷5.39.47৷৷

మారుతాత్మజః son of the Wind-god, హనుమాన్ Hanuman, వైదేహీమ్ to Vaidehi, ఏవమ్ in that manner, ఆశ్వాస్య having consoled, గమనాయ to depart, మతిమ్ thought, కృత్వా after resolving, పునః again, వైదేహీమ్ to Vaidehi, అబ్రవీత్ said.

Having thus consoled Vaidehi, Hanuman, son of the Wind-god resolved to depart. Once again he spoke to Vadehi:

తమరిఘ్నం కృతాత్మానం క్షిప్రం ద్రక్ష్యసి రాఘవమ్.

లక్ష్మణం చ ధనుష్పాణిం లఙ్కాద్వారముపాగతమ్৷৷5.39.48৷৷

లఙ్కాద్వారమ్ at the entrance of Lanka, ఉపాగతమ్ reached, అరిఘ్నమ్ slayer of foes, కృతాత్మానమ్ an accomplished man, తం రాఘవమ్ that Rama, ధనుష్పాణిమ్ wielder of bow, లక్ష్మణం చ and Lakshmana, క్షిప్రమ్ very soon, ద్రక్ష్యసి you will see.

"Very soon you would see the slayer of foes, who is an accomplished wielder of the bow (Rama) along with Lakshmana at the entrance of Lanka.

నఖదంష్ట్రాయుధాన్వీరాన్సిమ్హశార్దూలవిక్రమాన్.

వానరాన్వారణేన్ద్రాభాన్క్షిప్రం ద్రక్ష్యసి సఙ్గతాన్৷৷5.39.49৷৷

నఖదంష్ట్రాయుధాన్ whose nails and teeth are their weapons, వీరాన్ heroes, సింహశార్దూలవిక్రమాన్ resembling lion and tiger in valour, వారణేన్ద్రాభాన్ who resemble well-bred elephants, సఙ్గతాన్ reach, వానరాన్ vanaras, క్షిప్రమ్ soon, ద్రక్ష్యసి you will see.

"You will soon see heroic vanaras whose weapons are their teeth, who are like lion and tiger in their valour. They are (mighty) like well-bred elephants.

శైలామ్బుదనికాశానాం లఙ్కామలయసానుషు.

నర్దతాం కపిముఖ్యానామార్యే యూధాన్యనేకశః৷৷5.39.50৷৷

ఆర్యే respectable lady!, శైలామ్బుదనికాశానామ్ whose body is like clouds on mountain, నర్దతామ్ of the roaring, కపిముఖ్యానామ్ of the chiefs of vanaras, అనేకశః in many ways, యూధాని troops, లఙ్కామలయసానుషు on the mountain of Lanka.

"O respectable lady! you would see many troops of vanara chiefs who resemble clouds hovering on the mountain peaks of Lanka-roaring.

స తు మర్మణి ఘోరేణ తాడితో మన్మథేషుణా.

న శర్మ లభతే రామస్సింహార్ధిత ఇవ ద్విపః৷৷5.39.51৷৷

సః రామః that Rama, ఘోరేణ by the dreadful, మన్మథేషుణా arrows of god of love, మర్మణి pierced into vitals, తాడితః hit, సింహార్దితః hit by a lion, ద్విపః ఇవ like an elephant, న శర్మ లభతే is not happy

"Rama is tormented by the dreadful arrows of the god of love pierced into vitals, like an elephant hit by a lion. He has no happiness in life.

మా రుదో దేవి శోకేన మాభూత్తే మనసోప్రియమ్.

శచీవ పత్యా శక్రేణ భర్త్రా నాథవతీ హ్యసి৷৷5.39.52৷৷

దేవి devi, శోకేన with sorrow, మా రుదః do not cry, తే your, మనసః in mind, అప్రియమ్ unpleasant, మాభూత్ no thought be entertained, పత్యా with a husband శక్రేణ to Indra, శచీవ like Sachi, భర్త్రా by your husband, నాథవతీ you have a great husband, అసి హి you are.

"O devi! weep no more.Entertain no unpleasant thoughts.You have a great husband, just as Sachi has her lord Indra.

రామాద్విశిష్టః కోన్యోస్తి కశ్చిత్సౌమిత్రిణా సమః.

అగ్నిమారుతకల్పౌ తౌ భ్రాతరౌ తవ సంశ్రయౌ৷৷5.39.53৷৷

రామాత్ than Rama, విశిష్టః more distinguished, అన్యః others, కః who is there, అస్తి is, సౌమిత్రిణా to Lakshmana, సమః equal, కశ్చిత్ who is there, అగ్నిమారుతకల్పౌ equal to fire and wind, తౌ భ్రాతరౌ both brothers, తవ your, సంశ్రయౌ they are your refuge.

"Who is superior to Rama? Who is equal to Lakshmana? Both the brothers are like Fire and Wind. They are your refuge.

నాస్మింశ్చిరం వత్స్యసి దేవి దేశే రక్షోగణైరధ్యుషితేతిరౌద్రే.

న తే చిరాదామగమనం ప్రియస్య క్షమస్వ మత్సఙ్గమకాలమాత్రమ్৷৷5.39.54৷৷

దేవి noble lady, రక్షోగణైః by the hosts of ogres, అధ్యుషితే in a stronghold, అతిరౌద్రే in a dreadful place, అస్మిన్ దేశే country, చిరమ్ not very long, న వత్స్యసి will not stay, తే ప్రియస్య with your beloved, ఆగమనమ్ coming, న చిరాత్ not very long, మత్సఙ్గమకాలమాత్రమ్ for this period, క్షమస్వ pardon me.

"O noble lady! You will not stay longer in this country, which is a strong hold of hosts of demons and a dreadful place It will not be very long before you unite with your beloved. Pray, have patience till then.
