[Hanuman ruins Ashoka garden -- kills eighty thousand kinkaras]

తతః thereafter, పక్షినినాదేన by the sounds of birds, వృక్షభఙ్గస్వనేన by the cracking sound of trees, సర్వే all, లఙ్కానివాసినః the residents of Lanka, త్రాససమ్భ్రాన్తాః were panicked, బభూవుః became.
The residents of Lanka panicked at the shrieking sounds of birds and cracking sounds of trees.
విద్రుతాశ్చ భయత్రస్తా వినేదుర్మృగపక్షిణః.
రక్షసాం చ నిమిత్తాని క్రూరాణి ప్రతిపేదిరే৷৷5.42.2৷৷

మృగపక్షిణః beasts and birds, విద్రుతా: ran and flown away, భయత్రస్తాః became scared, వినేదుః screeching in all directions, రక్షసాం చ for the ogres, క్రూరాణి fierce, నిమిత్తాని portents, ప్రతిపేదిరే appeared.
The frightened beasts and birds ran and flew, screeching in all directions. Fierce portents appeared to the demons.
తతో గతాయాం నిద్రాయాం రాక్షస్యో వికృతాననాః.
తద్వనం దదృశుర్భగ్నం తం చ వీరం మహాకపిమ్৷৷5.42.3৷৷

తతః then, వికృతాననాః women of hideous faces, రాక్షస్యః ogressses, నిద్రాయామ్ in sleep, గతాయామ్ was awakened, భగ్నమ్ devastated, తత్ that, వనమ్ garden, వీరమ్ hero, తం మహాకపిం చ that great vanara, దదృశుః saw.
Hideous-looking ogresses, awakened from sleep, saw the garden devastated by the heroic Vanara.
స తా దృష్ట్వా మహాబాహుర్మహాసత్త్వో మహాబలః.
చకార సుమహద్రూపం రాక్షసీనాం భయావహమ్৷৷5.42.4৷৷

మహాబాహుః strong armed one, మహాసత్త్వః a great hero, మహాబలః mighty, సః he, Hanuman, తాః the women, దృష్ట్వా seeing, రాక్షసీనామ్ for the ogresses, భయావహమ్ to create fear, సుమహత్ very huge, రూపమ్ form, చకార assumed.
When the powerful, mighty and strong-armed Hanuman saw the ogresses he assumed a very huge form in order to strike terror in them.
తతస్తం గిరిసఙ్కాశమతికాయం మహాబలమ్.

తతః then, గిరిసఙ్కాశమ్ looking like a mountain, అతికాయమ్ of huge body, మహాబలమ్ mighty, తం వానరమ్ that vanara, దృష్ట్వా after seeing, రాక్షస్యః ogresses, జనకాత్మజామ్ Janaki, పప్రచ్ఛుః questioned.
Then, seeing the huge body of the mighty vanara resembling a mountain the ogresses questioned Janaki about him.
కోయం కస్య కుతో వాయం కిం నిమిత్తమిహాగతః.
కథం త్వయా సహానేన సంవాదః కృత ఇత్యుత৷৷5.42.6৷৷

అయమ్ this person, కః who, కస్య whose, అయమ్ he, కుతః from where, కిం నిమిత్తమ్ for what purpose, ఇహ here, ఆగతః he has come, ఉత or, అనేన by him, త్వయా సహ with you, సంవాదః talk, కృతః made.
"Who is he? By whom has he been sent? From where and why did he come here? What dialogue did you have with him?
ఆచక్ష్వ నో విశాలాక్షి మా భూత్తే సుభగే భయమ్.
సంవాదమసితాపాఙ్గే త్వయా కిం కృతవానయమ్৷৷5.42.7৷৷

విశాలాక్షి large-eyed lady, నః to us, ఆచక్ష్వ O you may tell, సుభగే O auspicious one, తే to you, భయమ్ fear, మా భూత్ let there be none, అసితాపాఙ్గే O lady with dark side-glances, అయమ్ this, త్వయా with you, కిమ్ what, సంవాదమ్ dialogue, కృతవాన్ he had.
"O lovely, large-eyed lady! O auspicious one! have no fear. What conversation did he have with you? Tell us".
అథాబ్రవీన్మహాసాధ్వీ సీతా సర్వాఙ్గసున్దరీ.
రక్షసాం భీమరూపాణాం విజ్ఞానే మమ కా గతిః৷৷5.42.8৷৷

అథ then, మహాసాధ్వీ a chaste lady, సర్వాఙ్గసున్దరీ a lady of beautiful limbs, సీతా Sita, తదా then, అబ్రవీత్ said, భీమరూపాణామ్ of fierce form, రక్షసామ్ of ogresses, విజ్ఞానే in knowing, గతిః direction, మమ to me, కా what?
Chaste and beautiful Sita said, "How do I know about the ogresses who assume many fierce forms?"
యూయమేవాభిజానీత యోయం యద్వా కరిష్యతి.
అహిరేవ హ్యహేః పాదాన్విజానాతి న సంశయః৷৷5.42.9৷৷

అయమ్ this, యః whoever, యద్వా what, కరిష్యతి he is about, యూయమేవ you alone, అభిజానీత you may find out, అహేః of a serpent, పాదాన్ feet, అహిరేవ a serpent alone, విజానాతి knows, సంశయః doubt, న no.
"You alone can know about who he is and what he is about. A serpent alone knows the movement (foot-prints) of another serpent. There is no doubt about it.
అహమప్యస్య భీతాస్మి నైనం జానామి కో న్వయం.

అహమపి I am also, అస్య at him, భీతా అస్మి I am scared of, ఏనమ్ him, కో ను who he is, అయమ్ this person, న జానామి I do not know, ఏనమ్ him, ఆగతమ్ came, కామరూపిణమ్ who has assumed his desired form in various ways, రాక్షసమేవ demon only, వేద్మి I think.
"I am also scared of him. I do not know who he is. I think he is a demon, who came here assuming a form of his choice.
వైదేహ్యా వచనం శ్రుత్వా రాక్షస్యో విద్రుతా దిశః.
స్థితాః కాశ్చిద్గతాః కాశ్చిద్రావణాయ నివేదితుమ్৷৷5.42.11৷৷

వైదేహ్యాః Vaidehi's, వచనమ్ words, శ్రుత్వా after listening to, రాక్షస్యః ogresses, దిశః in all directions, విద్రుతాః ran, కాశ్చిత్ some, స్థితాః stood there, కాశ్చిత్ some, రావణాయ to Ravana, నివేదితుమ్ to report, గతాః fled.
LIstening to Vaidehi's words the ogresses divided themselves and fled in all directions. While some stood there, others went to report to Ravana.
రావణస్య సమీపే తు రాక్షస్యో వికృతాననాః.

వికృతాననాః ugly-faced, రాక్షస్యః she-demons, రావణస్య to Ravana, సమీపే presence, విరూపమ్ disfigured, భీమమ్ frightening, వానరమ్ vanara, ఆఖ్యాతుమ్ to report, ఉపచక్రముః started.
The ugly-faced ogresses went to the presence of Ravana and reported about the frightening form of the vanara.
అశోకవనికామధ్యే రాజన్భీమవపుః కపిః.
సీతయా కృతసంవాదస్తిష్ఠత్యమితవిక్రమః৷৷5.42.13৷৷

రాజన్ O king, సీతయా with Sita, కృతసంవాదః had a dialogue, భీమవపుః fearsome figure, అమితవిక్రమః very powerful, కపిః vanara, అశోకవనికామధ్యే in the midst of Ashoka garden, తిష్ఠతి is stationed.
"Your majesty! an extremely powerful and frightening Vanara had a dialogue with Sita. He is stationed in the midst of Ashoka garden.
న చ తం జానకీ సీతా హరిం హరిణలోచనా.
అస్మాభిర్బహుధా పృష్టా నివేదయితుమిచ్ఛతి৷৷5.42.14৷৷

హరిణలోచనా deer-eyed, జానకీ Janaki, సీతా Sita, అస్మాభిః by us, పృష్టా questioned, తమ్ about him, నివేదయితుమ్ to disclose, న ఇచ్ఛతి not willing.
"The deer-eyed Sita is not willing to disclose to us his identity even when we questioned her.
వాసవస్య భవేద్దూతో దూతో వైశ్రవణస్య వా.
ప్రేషితో వాపి రామేణ సీతాన్వేషణకాఙ్క్షయా৷৷5.42.15৷৷

వాసవస్య Vasava's, దూతః envoy, వైశ్రవణస్య Vaisravana's, దూతో వా is he an envoy, సీతాన్వేషణకాఙ్క్షయా or one who has come to trace Sita, రామేణ by Rama, ప్రేషితో వాపి or sent, భవేత్ may be.
"He may be an envoy of Indra or Kubera or of Rama sent with an intent to trace Sita.
తేన త్వద్భుతరూపేణ యత్తత్తవ మనోహరమ్.
నానామృగగణాకీర్ణం ప్రమృష్టం ప్రమదావనమ్৷৷5.42.16৷৷

అద్భుతరూపేణ by a person of wonderful form, తేన by him, మనోహరమ్ delightful, నానామృగగణాకీర్ణమ్ filled with various kinds of animals, యత్ such, తవ your, ప్రమదావనమ్ beautiful pleasure garden, ప్రమృష్టమ్ ruined.
"Your beautiful pleasure garden filled with a variety of beasts has been ruined by this wonderful figure.
న తత్ర కశ్చిదుద్దేశో యస్తేన న వినాశితః.
యత్ర సా జానకీ సీతా స తేన న వినాశితః৷৷5.42.17৷৷
యత్ర సా జానకీ సీతా స తేన న వినాశితః৷৷5.42.17৷৷
తేన by him, యః whichever, న వినాశితః not ruined, ఉద్దేశః place, తత్ర there, కశ్చిత్ even one, న not, సా that, జానకీ Janaki, సీతా Sita, యత్ర wherever, సః that place, తేన by him, న వినాశితః not ruined.
There is not a single place that has not been ruined by him there. Only the place where Janaka's daughter, Sita is resting has not been touched.
జానకీరక్షణార్థం వా శ్రమాద్వా నోపలభ్యతే.
అథవా కశ్శ్రమస్తస్య సైవ తేనాభిరక్షితా৷৷5.42.18৷৷
అథవా కశ్శ్రమస్తస్య సైవ తేనాభిరక్షితా৷৷5.42.18৷৷
జానకీరక్షణార్థం వా is it to protect Janaki, శ్రమాద్వా or is it because he was tired, నోపలభ్యతే we are not able to understand, అథవా or else, తస్య his, శ్రమః tiresomeness, కః what, తేన by him, సైవ she alone, అభిరక్షితా is spared.
"It is not clear whether he spared that place for protecting Janakai or he stopped due to exhaustion. What is fatigue for him? It must be to save her that she is spared by him.
చారుపల్లవపుష్పాఢ్యం యం సీతా స్వయమాస్థితా.
ప్రవృద్ధశ్శింశుపావృక్ష స్స చ తేనాభిరక్షితః৷৷5.42.19৷৷

సీతా Sita, చారుపల్లవపుష్పాఢ్యమ్ a tree with lovely tender leaves and flowers, యమ్ whom, స్వయమ్ personally, ఆస్థితా she resorted, సః that, ప్రవృద్ధః large, శింశుపావృక్షః simsupa tree, తేన by him, అభిరక్షితః is saved from destruction.
"He has spared the simsupa tree with lovely, tender leaves and flowers which is a chosen resort by Sita.
తస్యోగ్రరూపస్యోగ్ర! త్వం దణ్డమాజ్ఞాతుమర్హసి.
సీతా సమ్భాషితా యేన తద్వనం చ వినాశితమ్৷৷5.42.20৷৷

యేన whomsoever, సీతా Sita, సమ్భాషితా had dialogue, తత్ వనం చ that garden also, వినాశితమ్ has been ruined, తస్య his, ఉగ్రరూపస్య of a fierce form, త్వమ్ you, ఉగ్రమ్ severe, దణ్డమ్ punishment, ఆజ్ఞాతుమ్ to order, అర్హసి is proper
"Your highness should take severe action on that person of fierce appearance with whom Sita dared to speak, and by whom the garden is ruined.
మనః పరిగృహీతాం తాం తవ రక్షోగణేశ్వర.
కస్సీతామభిభాషేత యో న స్యాత్త్యక్తజీవితః৷৷5.42.21৷৷

రక్షోగణేశ్వర O lord of the demon clan, మనః పరిగృహీతామ్ one who is desired by you, తాం సీతామ్ that Sita, యః whoever, త్యక్తజీవితః given up hope of life, న స్యాత్ if not, కః who, అభిభాషేత he will dare to talk.
"O lord of the demon clan! Who dares to talk to Sita if he has not given up all hope of life, since she is desired by you".
రాక్షసీనాం వచశ్త్రుత్వా రావణో రాక్షసేశ్వరః.
హుతాగ్నిరివ జజ్వాల కోపసంవర్తితేక్షణః৷৷5.42.22৷৷

రాక్షసేశ్వరః lord of ogres, రావణః Ravana, రాక్షసీనామ్ she-demons, వచః words, శ్రుత్వా after hearing, కోపసంవర్తితేక్షణః his eye-balls rolling in anger, హుతాగ్నిరివ like sacrificial fire into which offering is made,జజ్వాల flared.
On listening to the report of the ogresses, Ravana, the lord of demons flared up like blazing flame of a sacrificial fire, his eyeballs rolling in rage.
తస్య క్రుద్ధస్య నేత్రాభ్యాం ప్రాపతన్నాస్రబిన్దవః.
దీప్తాభ్యామివ దీపాభ్యాం సార్చిష స్స్నేహబిన్దవః৷৷5.42.23৷৷

క్రుద్ధస్య of the angry, తస్య his, నేత్రాభ్యామ్ from both the eyes, దీప్తాభ్యామ్ burning ones, దీపాభ్యామ్ from two lamps, సార్చిషః with flames, స్నేహబిన్దవః ఇవ like drops of oil, అస్రబిన్దవః drops of tears, ప్రాపతన్ fell down.
From his angry eyes fell down drops of tears just as burning drops of oil drip from two burning lamps.
ఆత్మనస్సదృశాన్శూరాన్కిఙ్కరాన్నామ రాక్షసాన్.
వ్యాదిదేశ మహాతేజా నిగ్రహార్థం హనూమతః৷৷5.42.24৷৷

మహాతేజాః powerful, హనూమతః Hanuman's, నిగ్రహార్థమ్ to catch, ఆత్మనః his, సదృశాన్ equals, శూరాన్ heroes, కిఙ్కరాన్నామ called kinkaras, రాక్షసాన్ demons, వ్యాదిదేశ commanded.
Then powerful Ravana commanded heroic demons called kinkaras who vied in strength to catch Hanuman.
తేషామశీతిసాహస్రం కిఙ్కరాణాం తరస్వినామ్.
నిర్యయుర్భవనాత్తస్మాత్కూటముద్గరపాణయః৷৷5.42.25৷৷
మహోదరా మహాదంష్ట్రా ఘోరరూపా మహాబలాః.
యుద్ధాభిమనసస్సర్వే హనుమద్గ్రహణోద్యతాః৷৷5.42.26৷৷
నిర్యయుర్భవనాత్తస్మాత్కూటముద్గరపాణయః৷৷5.42.25৷৷
మహోదరా మహాదంష్ట్రా ఘోరరూపా మహాబలాః.
యుద్ధాభిమనసస్సర్వే హనుమద్గ్రహణోద్యతాః৷৷5.42.26৷৷
తరస్వినామ్ of swift-moving ones, తేషాం కిఙ్కరాణామ్ of the kinkaras, అశీతిసాహస్రమ్ eighty thousand, మహోదరాః large-bellied, మహాదంష్ట్రాః large-toothed, ఘోరరూపాః dreadful-looking, మహాబలాః powerful, యుద్ధాభిమనసః ready to fight in war, సర్వే all, కూటముద్గరపాణయః hammers and clubs, హనుమద్గ్రహణోద్యతాః resolved to capture Hanuman, తస్మాత్ from that, భవనాత్ building, నిర్యయుః came out.
Eighty thousand powerful kinkaras (a clan of demons), large-bellied, with large teeth and of dreadful appearance, swift in action, armed with hammers and clubs marched from there, resolved to capture Hanuman.
తే కపీన్ద్రం సమాసాద్య తోరణస్థమవస్థితమ్.
అభిపేతుర్మహావేగాః పతఙ్గా ఇవ పావకమ్৷৷5.42.27৷৷

తే they, తోరణస్థమ్ near the archway, అవస్థితమ్ stood ready, కపీన్ద్రమ్ leader of vanaras, సమాసాద్య having approached, మహావేగాః swift ones, పతఙ్గాః moths, పావకమ్ ఇవ like rushing into the flame, అభిపేతుః rushed.
The kinkaras rushed towards the leader of vanaras who stood near the archway like the moths rushing towards the flame.
తే గదాభిర్విచిత్రాభిః పరిఘైః కాఞ్చనాఙ్గదైః.
ఆజఘ్నుర్వానరశ్రేష్ఠం శరైశ్చాదిత్యసన్నిభైః৷৷5.42.28৷৷

తే they, విచిత్రాభిః with wonderful ones, గదాభిః with iron maces, కాఞ్చనాఙ్గదైః edged with gold, పరిఘైః with crow-bars, ఆదిత్యసన్నిభైః resembling the Sun, శరైశ్చ with arrows, వానరశ్రేష్ఠమ్ best of vanaras, ఆజఘ్నుః assailed.
They assailed Hanuman with iron maces, crow-bars edged with gold and shining arrows resembling the Sun.
ముద్గరైః పట్టిశైశ్శూలైః ప్రాసతోమరశక్తిభిః.
పరివార్య హనూమన్తం సహసా తస్థురగ్రతః৷৷5.42.29৷৷

ముద్గరైః with hammers, పట్టి with sharp-edged spears, శూలైః with tridents, ప్రాసతోమరశక్తిభిః with barbed missiles and powerful javelins, సహసా at once, హనూమన్తమ్ Hanuman, పరివార్య surrounded, అగ్రతః in front of him, తస్థుః stood.
They quickly surrounded Hanuman and stood with hammers, sharp-edged spears, tridents, barbed missiles and powerful javelins.
హనుమానపి తేజస్వీ శ్రీమాన్పర్వతసన్నిభః.
క్షితావావిధ్య లాఙ్గూలం ననాద చ మహాస్వనమ్৷৷5.42.30৷৷

తేజస్వీ brilliant, శ్రీమాన్ illustrious one, పర్వతసన్నిభః resembling a mountain, హనుమానపి Hanuman also, లాఙ్గూలమ్ tail, క్షితౌ on the ground, ఆవిధ్య waved, మహాస్వనమ్ causing loud sound, ననాద చ roared.
Gigantic Hanuman, illustrious and brilliant, roared and waved his tail striking it with force on the ground causing loud sound.
స భూత్వా సుమహాకాయో హనుమాన్మారుతాత్మజః.
ధృష్టమాస్ఫోటయామాస లఙ్కాం శబ్దేన పూరయన్৷৷5.42.31৷৷

మారుతాత్మజః Maruti's son, సః హనుమాన్ that Hanuman, సుమహాకాయః with a huge body, భూత్వా assuming, శబ్దేన by the sound, లఙ్కామ్ entire Lanka, పూరయన్ echoed, ధృష్టమ్ wildly, అస్ఫోటయామాస patted.
Hanuman, son of Maruti, enlarged his body to a huge size and patted himself wildly making loud noise that echoed the entire Lanka.
తస్యాస్ఫోటితశబ్దేన మహతా సానునాదినా.
పేతుర్విహఙ్గా గగనాదుచ్చైశ్చేదమఘోషయత్৷৷5.42.32৷৷

సానునాదినా by the frightening echoing sound, మహతా with great, తస్య his, అస్ఫోటితశబ్దేన by the sound of the patting, విహఙ్గాః birds, గగనాత్ from the sky, పేతుః fell down, ఉచ్చైః with a loud noise, ఇదమ్ thus, అఘోషయత్ చ proclaimed.
By the highly frightening sound caused by Hanuman patting, the birds from the sky fell down making a loud noise and Hanuman proclaimed in a loud voice as follows:
జయత్యతిబలో రామో లక్ష్మణశ్చ మహాబలః.
రాజా జయతి సుగ్రీవో రాఘవేణాభిపాలితః৷৷5.42.33৷৷

అతిబలః mighty, రామః Rama, జయతి is victorious, మహాబలః powerful, లక్ష్మణశ్చ Lakshmana also, రాఘవేణ by Rama, అభిపాలితః ruled, రాజా king, సుగ్రీవః Sugriva, జయతి is victorious.

"I, son of the Wind-god, destroyer of hostile armies, am a servant of Rama, the lord of Kosala kingdom, a man of unwearied action.
న రావణసహస్రం మే యుద్ధే ప్రతిబలం భవేత్.
శిలాభిస్తు ప్రహరతః పాదపైశ్చ సహస్రశః৷৷5.42.35৷৷

సహస్రశః a thousand ways, శిలాభిః with stones, పాదపైశ్చ with even trees, ప్రహరతః while I pound, మే to me, యుద్ధే in war, రావణసహస్రమ్ a thousand Ravanas, ప్రతిబలమ్ match in strength, న భవేత్ will not.
Even a thousand Ravanas will not match me in strength when I pound stones and trees in a thousand ways.
అర్దయిత్వా పురీం లఙ్కామభివాద్య చ మైథిలీమ్.

సర్వరక్షసామ్ all ogres, మిషతామ్ as they gaze, లఙ్కాం పురీమ్ city of Lanka, అర్దయిత్వా shall destroy, మైథిలీమ్ to Mythili, అభివాద్య చ and pay respects, సమృద్ధార్థః having accomplished my purpose, గమిష్యామి I will return.
"I shall destroy the city of Lanka and pay my respects to Mythili right under the nose of all demons. I will return with my purpose accomplished.
తస్య సన్నాదశబ్దేన తేభవన్భయశఙ్కితాః.
దదృశుశ్చ హనూమన్తం సన్ధ్యామేఘమివోన్నతమ్৷৷5.42.37৷৷

తే they, తస్య his, సన్నాదశబ్దేన with the sound of hearing, భయశఙ్కితా: errified, అభవన్ seemed, సన్ధ్యామేఘమివ like a cloud in twilight, ఉన్నతమ్ towering, హనూమన్తమ్ Hanuman, దదృశుశ్చ saw.
Terrified on hearing the roar, the kinkaras looked at the towering Hanuman who seemed like a cloud in twilight (red in colour).
స్వామిసన్దేశనిశ్శఙ్కాస్తతస్తే రాక్షసాః కపిమ్.

తతః then, తే they, రాక్షసాః demons, స్వామిసన్దేశనిఃశఙ్కా: on account the king's command putting aside their fear, చిత్రైః with dreadful, ప్రహరణైః with weapons, కపిమ్ the vanara, అభిపేతుః attacked him.
Obeying their king's commnad, putting aside their fear, the kinkaras freely attacked the vanara from all directions with dreadful weapons.
స తైః పరివృతశ్శూరైస్సర్వతస్సుమహాబలః.

సుమహాబలః exceesively powerful one, సః he, Hanuman, శూరైః with heroes, తైః with those, సర్వతః all over, పరివృతః surrounded, తోరణాశ్రితమ్ near the archway, భీమమ్ terrific, ఆయసమ్ a weapon made of iron, పరిఘమ్ iron beam, ఆససాద picked up.
Extremely powerful Hanuman surrounded by heroes all over, on his part went to the archway and picked up a terrific iron beam.
స తం పరిఘమాదాయ జఘాన రజనీచరాన్.
స పన్నగమివాదాయ స్ఫురన్తం వినతాసుతః৷৷5.42.40৷৷
విచచారామ్బరే వీరః పరిగృహ్య చ మారుతిః.
స పన్నగమివాదాయ స్ఫురన్తం వినతాసుతః৷৷5.42.40৷৷
విచచారామ్బరే వీరః పరిగృహ్య చ మారుతిః.
సః he, తం పరిఘమ్ that iron beam, ఆదాయ took hold, రజనీచరాన్ night-rangers, జఘాన struck them, వీరః hero, సః మారుతిః that Maruti, వినతాసుతః just as Vinatha's son, స్ఫురన్తమ్ shoots, పన్నగమ్ serpent, ఆదాయ seized, పరిగృహ్య took hold, అమ్బరే in the sky, విచచార started moving.
Hanuman, the mighty hero, seized the iron beam and struck the kinkaras, just as Garuda, the son of Vinata shoots up a struggling serpent and starts taking strides in the sky with the weapon in his hand (like Indra with his thunderbolt did with demons).

యుద్ధాకాఙ్క్షీ పునర్వీరస్తోరణం సముపాశ్రితః.

వీరః hero, సః మారుతాత్మజః that Wind-god's son, వీరాన్ heroes, కిఙ్కరాన్ kinkaras, రాక్షసాన్ ogres, హత్వా having killed, పునః again, యుద్ధాకాఙ్క్షీ desiring further combat, తోరణమ్ archway, సముపాశ్రితః reached.
The great Wind-god's son killed the kinkaras, and returned to the archway desiring further combat.
తతస్తస్మాద్భయాన్ముక్తాః కతిచిత్తత్ర రాక్షసాః৷৷5.42.42৷৷
నిహతాన్కిఙ్కరాన్సర్వాన్రావణాయన్యవేదయన్.

తతః then, తత్ర that, తస్మాత్ from fear, భయాత్ out of fear, ముక్తాః relieved, కతిచిత్ some, రాక్షసాః ogres, సర్వాన్ all, కిఙ్కరాన్ kinkaras, నిహతాన్ killed, రావణాయ to Ravana, న్యవేదయన్ reported.
Then a few surviving ogres took to their heels after getting over that shock and reported to Ravana of the destruction of the kinkaras in the combat

స he, రాజా king, రాక్షసానామ్ of ogres, మహత్ mighty, బలమ్ army, నిహతమ్ killed, నిశమ్య after hearing, పరివృత్తలోచనః with his eyes rolling, పరాక్రమే in valour, అప్రతిమమ్ matchless, సమరే in war, సుదుర్జయమ్ difficult to conquer, ప్రహస్తపుత్రమ్ son of Prahasta, సమాదిదేశ commanded.
The mighty demon king having heard about the killing of the formidable army of ogres, his eyes rolling in rage, commanded the son of Prahasta, who is difficult to conquer and matchless in war.
