[Jambavan says it is advisable to follow Rama's instruction.]

తస్య తద్వచనం శ్రుత్వా వాలిసూనురభాషత.

అయుక్తం తు వినా దేవీం దృష్టవద్భిశ్చ వానరాః৷৷5.60.1৷৷

సమీపం గన్తుమస్మాభీ రాఘవస్య మహాత్మనః.


తస్య his, తత్ that, వచనమ్ words, శ్రుత్వా on hearing, వాలిసూనుః Vali's son, అభాషత said this, వానరాః O vanaras, దృష్టవద్భిః even after seeing, అస్మాభిః her, దేవీం వినా without Sita, మహాత్మనః great soul, రాఘవస్య to Rama, సమీపమ్ near, గన్తుమ్ going, అయుక్తం తు not appropriate.

After hearing Hanuman, Vali's son said" O vanaras! (Hanuman) having seen Sita it is not proper on our part to go without Sita to the great soul Rama.
దృష్టా దేవీ న చానీతా ఇతి తత్ర నివేదనమ్৷৷5.60.2৷৷

అయుక్తమివ పశ్యామి భవద్భిః ఖ్యాతవిక్రమైః.


ఖ్యాతవిక్రమైః known for valour, భవద్భిః you too, దేవీ god-like lady, దృష్టా seeing, న ఆనీతా చ not brought her, ఇతి this, తత్ర there, నివేదనమ్ tell, అయుక్తమివ not proper, పశ్యామి I think.

"O vanaras, you are known for your valour. I think, to tell Rama that we have seen Sita but not brought her is not proper".
న హి నః ప్లవనే కశ్చిన్నాపి కశ్చిత్పరాక్రమే৷৷5.60.3৷৷

తుల్య స్సామరదైత్యేషు లోకేషు హరిసత్తమాః.


హరిసత్తమాః noble vanaras, సామరదైత్యేషు gods or demons, లోకేషు in the world, ప్లవనే in leaping, నః none, తుల్యః match, కశ్చిత్ even few, న హి not indeed, పరాక్రమేపి even in valour, కశ్చిత్ are there, న no one.

"O noble vanaras! Indeed either among gods or among demons there is none who can match the vanaras in leaping and exhibiting valour.
తేష్వేవం హతవీరేషు రాక్షసేషు హనూమతా৷৷5.60.4৷৷

కిమన్యదత్ర కర్తవ్యం గృహీత్వా యామ జానకీమ్.


తేషు hence, రాక్షసేషు among demons, హనూమతా Hanuman, ఏవమ్ in that way, హతవీరేషు dead heroes, అత్ర there, కిమ్ what, అన్యత్ other, కర్తవ్యమ్ action, జానకీమ్ Janaki, గృహీత్వా get, యామ here.

"Hence, having killed the heroes among ogres what other task has Hanuman to do? Let us get Sita.
తమేవం కృతసఙ్కల్పం జామ్బవాన్ హరిసత్తమః৷৷5.60.5৷৷

ఉవాచ పరమప్రీతో వాక్యమర్థవదర్థవిత్.


అర్థవిత్ knower of ways of execution of tasks, హరిసత్తమః noble vanara, జామ్బవాన్ Jambavan, పరమప్రీతః very pleased, ఏవమ్ in that way, కృతసంకల్పమ్ determined, తమ్ him, అర్థవత్ commnading way, వాక్యమ్ these words, ఉవాచ spoke.

"Jambavan, the noble vanara, skilled in the execution of tasks thus commanded in a determined manner:
న తావదేషా మతిరక్షమా నో యథా భవాన్ పశ్యతి రాజపుత్ర.

యథా తు రామస్య మతిర్నివిష్టా తథా భవాన్ పశ్యతు కార్యసిద్ధిమ్৷৷5.60.6৷৷


రాజపుత్ర O prince, భవాన్ you, యథా this way, పశ్యతి thought of, ఏషా also, మతిః to my mind, నః none, అక్షమా acceptable, న తావత్ we are capable, తు you, రామస్య Rama's, మతిః mind, యథా this way, నివిష్టా should act, తథా that way, భవాన్ you, కార్యసిద్ధిమ్ to accomplish the work, పశ్యతు do it.

"O prince! what you think is acceptable to us also. Even though we are capable of achieving, knowing what is in Rama's mind, we should act only according to his command to accomplish the task.
ఇత్యార్షే శ్రీమద్రామాయణే వాల్మీకీయ ఆదికావ్యే సున్దరకాణ్డే షష్టితమస్సర్గః৷৷
Thus ends the sixtieth sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramyana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
