హనుమతా Hanuman, ఏవమ్ in that manner, ఉక్తః spoken, సలక్ష్మణః Lakshmana, దశరథాత్మజః son of Dasaratha, రామః Rama, తం మణిమ్ that ornament, హృదయే to the bosom, కృత్వా held, ప్రరురోద wept.
Thus addressed by Hanuman, Rama held the token (Chudamani) against his bosom and wept with Lakshmana.
తం తు దృష్ట్వా మణిశ్రేష్ఠం రాఘవ శ్శోకకర్శితః.
నేత్రాభ్యామశ్రుపూర్ణాభ్యాం సుగ్రీవమిదమబ్రవీత్৷৷5.66.2৷৷

తం మణిశ్రేష్ఠమ్ the precious jewel, దృష్ట్వా seeing, రాఘవః Rama, శోకకర్శితః overcome with sorrow, అశ్రుపూర్ణాభ్యామ్ filled with tears, నేత్రాభ్యామ్ both eyes, సుగ్రీవమ్ to Sugriva, ఇదమ్ thus, అబ్రవీత్ spoke.
Seeing the precious jewel, Rama's eyes were filled with tears. Overwhelmed with grief, he spoke to Sugriva.
యథైవ ధేను స్స్రవతి స్నేహాద్వత్సస్య వత్సలా.
తథా మమాపి హృదయం మణిరత్నస్య దర్శనాత్৷৷5.66.3৷৷

వత్సలా fond of its calf, ధేనుః cow, వత్సస్య at the sight of calf, స్నేహాత్ out of love, యథైవ in the same way, స్రవతి distils milk from its teats, మమ హృదయమపి my heart also, మణిరత్నస్య at this excellent jewel, దర్శనాత్ on seeing, తథా so does.
"Just as a cow fond of its calf begins to distil milk from its teats at the sight of the calf, so does my heart melt at the sight of this excellent jewel.
మణిరత్నమిదం దత్తం వైదేహ్యాశ్శ్వశురేణ మే.
వధూకాలే యథాబద్ధమధికం మూర్ధ్ని శోభతే৷৷5.66.4৷৷

వధూకాలే at the time of marriage, మూర్ధ్ని to the head, ఆబద్ధమ్ tied, యథా so, శోభతే charming, ఇదమ్ this, మణిరత్నమ్ gem of ornament, మే శ్వశురేణ my father-in-law, వైదేహ్యాః to Vaidehi, దత్తమ్ presented.
అయం హి జలసమ్భూతో మణిస్సజ్జనపూజితః.

జలసమ్భూతః found in water, సజ్జనపూజితః worshipped by elders of the family, అయం మణిః this jewel యజ్ఞే in sacrificial ceremony, పరమతుష్టేన great joy, ధీమతా wise one, శక్రేణ by Indra, దత్తః given.
"This was found in water and was bestowed by Indra out of great joy on Janaka who had performed a grand sacrificial ceremony. So it was worshipped by elders of the family.
ఇమం దృష్ట్వా మణిశ్రేష్ఠం యథా తాతస్య దర్శనమ్.
అద్యాస్మ్యవగతస్సౌమ్య వైదేహస్య తథా విభోః৷৷5.66.6৷৷

సౌమ్య noble, అద్య now, ఇమమ్ this, మణిశ్రేష్ఠమ్ gem of jewel, దృష్ట్వా when I see, తాతస్య father's, తథా so also, విభోః king, వైదేహస్య of Videha, దర్శనమ్ seeing, యథా as if, అవగతః get.
"O noble Sugriva! now when I see this excellent jewel, I get direct sight of my father and king of Videha (in the same way as I obtained the sight of Sita).
అయం హి శోభతే తస్యాః ప్రియాయా మూర్ధ్ని మే మణిః.
అస్యాద్య దర్శనే నాహం ప్రాప్తాం తామివ చిన్తయే৷৷5.66.7৷৷

అయం మణిః this gem, మే ప్రియాయాః my beloved, మూర్ధ్ని head, శోభతే హి indeed shone, అద్య now, అస్య its, దర్శనేన mere look, తామ్ her, ప్రాప్తామివ as if I am seeing, చిన్తయే I think.
"This jewel was shining on the head of my beloved. Now its mere look makes me feel that I am seeing her.
కిమాహ సీతా వైదేహీ బ్రూహి సౌమ్య పునః పునః.
పిపాసుమివ తోయేన సిఞ్చన్తీ వాక్యవారిణా৷৷5.66.8৷৷

సౌమ్య O handsome (Hanuman)!, పిపాసుమ్ for a thirsty one, తోయేన ఇవ like water, వాక్యవారిణా in life-giving water of words, సిఞ్చన్తీ sprinkle, వైదేహీ Vaidehi, సీతా Sita, కిమ్ what else, పునః పునః again and again, ఆహ to speak, బ్రూహి asked.
"O handsome Hanuman! Sita is like water for a thirsty person. Tell me again and again what Sita said to you. Sprinkle on me (life-giving) water of her words in the form of message.
ఇతస్తు కిం దుఃఖతరం యదిమం వారిసమ్భవమ్.
మణిం పశ్యామి సౌమిత్రే వైదేహీమాగతాం వినా৷৷5.66.9৷৷

సౌమిత్రే O Saumitri!, వారిసమ్భవమ్ found in water, ఇమం మణిమ్ this jewel, వైదేహీమ్ of Vaidehi, ఆగతాం వినా without her, యత్ పశ్యామి seeing this, ఇతః here, దుఃఖతరమ్ cause more sorrow, కిమ్ what?
"O Saumitri! I see this jewel born (formed) under water but not her. What can be more sorrowful to me?
చిరం జీవతి వైదేహీ యది మాసం ధరిష్యతి.
క్షణం సౌమ్య న జీవేయం వినా తామసితేక్షణామ్৷৷5.66.10৷৷

సౌమ్య O dear!, వైదేహీ Vaidehi, మాసమ్ one month, ధరిష్యతి యది if she lives, చిరమ్ for long, జీవతి living, సౌమ్య O dear, తామ్ her, అసితేక్షణాం వినా without the (enchanting) black-eyed, క్షణమ్ for a moment, న జీవేయమ్ I cannot live
నయ మామపి తం దేశం యత్ర దృష్టా మమ ప్రియా.
న తిష్ఠేయం క్షణమపి ప్రవృత్తిముపలభ్య చ৷৷5.66.11৷৷

మమ my, ప్రియా beloved, యత్ర దృష్టా where you saw, మామపి me too, తం దేశమ్ that place, నయ take me, ప్రవృత్తిమ్ where she is, ఉపలభ్య చ and knowing, క్షణమపి even a moment, న తిష్ఠేయమ్ not stay here.
"Take me to the place you saw my beloved. Knowing where she is I cannot stay here even for a moment.
కథం సా మమ సుశ్రోణీ భీరుభీరు స్సతీ సదా.
భయావహానాం ఘోరాణాం మధ్యే తిష్ఠతి రక్షసామ్৷৷5.66.12৷৷

సదా always, భీరుభీరుః సతీ very timid, మమ సుశ్రోణీ my fair-hipped beloved, భయావహానామ్ fearsome forms, ఘోరాణామ్ dreadful ones, రక్షసామ్ demons, మధ్యే midst, కథమ్ how, తిష్ఠతి does she remain.
"She is always very timid. How can my fair-hipped beloved remain in the midst of dreadful and fearsome demons?
శారద స్తిమిరోన్ముక్తో నూనం చన్ద్రం ఇవాంబుధైః.
ఆవృతం వదనం తస్యా న విరాజతి రాక్షసైః৷৷5.66.13৷৷

తిమిరోన్ముక్తః bereft of brightness, అమ్బుదైః by rain-clouds, చన్ద్రః ఇవ like the Moon, రాక్షసైః by demons, ఆవృతమ్ surrounded by, తస్యాః her, వదనమ్ countenance, న విరాజతి not shine, నూనమ్ surely.
"Her face resembling the autumnal Moon bereft of its stain, though covered with rain-clouds does not shine so bright.
కిమాహ సీతా హనుమంస్తత్త్వతః కథయాద్య మే.
ఏతేన ఖలు జీవిష్యే భేషజేనాతురో యథా৷৷5.66.14৷৷

హనుమాన్ Hanuman, సీతా Sita, కిమ్ what, ఆహ to go, అద్య now, తత్త్వతః truly, మే I am, కథయ told by her, ఆతురః eager, భేషజేన యథా just as medicine does, ఏతేన that alone, జీవిష్యే ఖలు indeed, keep me alive.
"O Hanuman! Tell me now truly what has been told by her. I am eager to know. Indeed, it will keep me alive just as medicne does. (I shall survive on the strength of her message)
మధురా మధురాలాపా కిమాహ మమ భామినీ.

మధురా lovely one, మధురాలాపా one who speaks sweetly, వరారోహా fair-hipped one, మద్విహీనా separated from me, మమ భామినీ my beloved, కిమ్ what, ఆహ did she say, మే to me, కథయస్వ you may narrate.
That lovely Sita who speaks sweetly, that fair-hipped beautiful one who has been separated from me, my beloved, what did she say? Please narrate.
