[Vibheeshana consecrated as king of Lanka. Sri Rama sends a message to Sita through Hanuman.]

tērāvaṇavadhaṅdṛṣaṭavādēvaganadharavadānavāḥ .

jagamusasavaisavairavimānaisatēkathayanataśaśubhāḥkathāḥ ।।6.115.1।।


tē in the meantime, dēvaganadharavadānavāḥ Devas, Gandharvas, Danavasrāvaṇavadhama Ravana's destruction, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, tē they, śubhāḥauspicious, kathāḥ story, kathayanataḥ speaking to each other, savaiḥsavaiḥ their, vimānaiḥ aerial cars, jagamuḥ went

In the meantime, Devas, Gandharvas, Danavas speaking to each other an auspicious story of Ravana's destruction went in their respective aerial cars.
rāvaṇasayavadhaṅghōraṅrāghavasayaparākaramama .

suyudadhaṅvānarāṇāṅ ca sugarīvasaya ca manataritama ।।6.115.2।।

anurāgaṅ ca vīrayaṅ ca saumitarēralakaṣamaṇasaya ca .

pativaratātavaṅsītāyāhanūmatiparākaramama ।।6.115.3।।

kathayanatōmahābhāgājagamurahaṣaṭāyathāgatama .


mahābhāgāḥ highly respected, rāvaṇasaya Ravana's, ghōrama dreadful, vadhama end, rāghavasaya Raghava's, parākaramama prowess, vānarāṇāma Vanaras, suyudadhama good fight, sugarīvasaya Sugriva's, manataritama counsel, saumitarēḥ Saumithri, lakaṣamaṇasaya Lakshmana's, anurāgaṅ ca love, vīrayaṅ ca valour, sītāyāḥSita's, pativaratātavama fidelity of Sita, hanūmatiHanuman's, parākaramama valiance, kathayanataḥ speaking, hṛṣaṭāḥrejoiced, yathāgatama as they had come from, jagamuḥ returned

Speaking about the highly respected Raghava's prowess, the end of dreadful Ravana, the good fighting of Vanaras, counsel of Sugriva, valour of Hanuman, love of Lakshmana, fidelity of Sita, all rejoiced and returned as they had come.
rāghavasaturathaṅdivayaminadaradatataṅśikhiparabhama ।।6.115.4।।

anujañāyamahābhāgōramātaliṅparatayapūjayata .


mahābhāgō honourable, rāghavasatu Raghava too, inadaradatatama bestowed by Indra, śikhiparabhama aerial chariot, divayama wonderful, rathama chariot, anujañāya bidding farewell, mātalima Matali, paratayapūjayata joyously returned

Bidding farewell to Matali joyously, honourable Raghava returned the aerial chariot bestowed to him by Indra.
rāghavēṇābhayanujañātōmātaliśaśakarasārathiḥ ।।6.115.5।।

divayaṅtaṅrathamāsathāyadivamēvārūrōhasaha .

Matali, charioteer of Indra too taking Raghava's permission went to heaven in that wonderful chariot.
tasamiṅsatudivamārūḍhēsusārathisanatamē ।।6.115.6।।

rāghavaḥparamaparītasasugarīvaṅpariṣasavajē .


tasamina on his, divama heaven, ārūḍhē ascended, susārathi that charioteer, sanatamē rejoiced, rāghavaḥRaghava, paramaparītaḥ very dearly, sugarīvama Sugriva, pariṣasavajē embraced

"On Matali ascending to heaven, Raghava very dearly embraced Sugriva for his help in his victory."
pariṣavajaya ca sugarīvaṅlakaṣamaṇēnābhivāditaḥ ।।6.115.7।।

pūjayamānōharigaṇairājagāmabalālayama .


sugarīvama Sugriva, pariṣavajaya ca embracing, lakaṣamaṇēna Lakshmana, abhivāditaḥ initiated by, harigaṇaiḥ Vanara troops, pūjayamānaḥ worshipped, balālayama by the army, ājagāma went

On embracing Sugriva, greeted by Lakshmana, and worshipped by the army of Vanaras, Rama returned to the camp.
athōvāca sa kākutasathasasamīpaparivaratinama ।।6.115.8।।

saumitariṅsatatavasamapananaṅlakaṣamaṇaṅśubhalakaṣaṇama .


atha and then, saḥkākutasatha: Kakuthsa, samīpaparivaratinama nearby surrounded, saumitarima Saumithri, satatavasamapananama rich in prowess, śubhalakaṣaṇama of auspicious nature, lakaṣamaṇama Lakshmana, uvāca spoke

And then, Kakuthsa spoke to Saumithri, of auspicious nature and endowed richly with prowess, who stood close by.
bhīṣaṇamimaṅsaumaya laṅakāyāmabhiṣēcaya ।।6.115.9।।

anurakataṅ ca bhakataṅ ca tathāpūravōpakāriṇama .


saumaya gentle, anurakatama very friendly, bhakataṅ ca devotion, tathā so also, pūravōpakāriṇama done good work in the past, imama him, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, laṅakāyāma in Lanka, abhiṣēcaya consecrate

"Gentle Lakshmana! Vibheeshana is friendly to me and devoted. He has done me good work in the past. Consecrate him in Lanka."
ēṣamēparamaḥkāmōyadimaṅrāvaṇānujama ।।6.115.10।।

laṅakāyāṅsaumaya paśayēmabhiṣikataṅvibhīṣaṇama .


saumaya gentle, ēṣaḥ being so, mē to me, paramaḥ very, kāmaḥ desire, yata that, rāvaṇānujama Ravana's brother, imaṅvibhīṣaṇama this Vibheeshana, laṅakāyāma at Lanka, abhiṣikatama consecrate, paśayēyama wish to see

"O gentle Lakshmana! I desire to see this Vibheeshana, Ravana's brother, consecrated at Lanka"
ēvamukatasatusaumitarīrāghavēṇamahātamanā ।।6.115.11।।

tathētayukatavāsusamahṛṣaṭaḥsauvaraṇaṅghaṭamādadē .


mahātamanā great self, rāghavēṇa by Raghava, ēvama in that manner, ukataḥ spoken, saumitari Saumithri, tathēti same way, susamahṛṣaṭaḥ very happy, sauvaraṇama golden, ghaṭama vessel, ādadē arranged to get

Great self-Raghava having spoken like that, Saumithri, very happily arranged to get a golden vessel.
tamaghaṭaṅvānarēnadarāṇāṅhasatēdatatavāmanōjavāna ।।6.115.12।।

vayādidēśamahāsatatava: samudarasalilaṅtadā .


mahāsatatava: endowed with mighty prowess, tadā then, tama that, ghaṭama vessel, vānarēnadarāṇāma chief of Vanaras, hasatē hand, datatavā given, manōjavāna endowed with speed of mind, samudarasalilama water from the ocean, vayādidēśa to get

Commanded like that, Lakshmana, endowed with mighty prowess placed that vessel in the hands of Vanara chief, who was endowed with the speed of the mind, to get water from the ocean.
atiśīgharaṅtatōgatavāvānarāsatēmanōjavāḥ ।।6.115.13।।

āgatāsatujalaṅgṛhayasamudarādavānarōtatamāḥ .


tataḥ then, manōjavāḥ who has the speed of mind, vānarōtatamāḥ foremost of Vanaras, atiśīgharama all speed, gatatavā going, samudarāta ocean's, jalama water, gṛhaya taking, āgatāḥ came

Then the foremost of the Vanaras, endowed with the speed of mind, with all speed went and got water from the ocean.
tataḥsatavēkaṅghaṭaṅgṛhayasamasathāpayaparamāsanē ।।6.115.14।।

ghaṭēnatēnasaumitarirabhayaṣiñacadavibhīṣaṇama .

laṅakāyāṅrakaṣasāṅmadhayērājānaṅrāmaśāsanāta ।।6.115.15।।

vidhināmanataradṛṣaṭēnasuhṛdagaṇasamāvṛtaḥ .


saumitariḥ Saumithri, suhṛdagaṇasamāvṛtaḥ surrounded by hosts of friends and dear, tataḥ then, ēkama one, ghaṭama vessel, gṛhaya taking, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, paramāsanē excellent seat, saṅsathāpaya making to sit, tēna thereafter, ghaṭēna with the vessel, rakaṣasāma Rakshasa, madhayē midst, manataradṛṣaṭēna chanting sacred verses, vidhinā in accordance with scriptures, rāmaśāsanāta by Rama's command, laṅakāyāma in Lanka, rājānama kingdom, abhayaṣiñacata consecrated

Vibheeshana was made to sit on an excellent seat, surrounded by hosts of friends and dear ones. Thereafter, in the midst of Rakshasas chanting sacred verses in accordance with scriptures, Saumithri took a vessel of water and duly consecrated Vibhishana with the water in the vessel as commanded by Rama, in Lanka.
abhayaṣiñacaṅsatadāsaravērākaṣasāvānarāsatathā ।।6.115.16।।

paraharaṣamatulaṅgatavātuṣaṭuvūrāmamavē ha .


tadā then, saravē all, rākaṣasāḥ Rakshasas, satathā like that, vānarāḥ Vanaras, abhayaṣiñacana consecrated, atulama extreme, paraharaṣama joy, gatavā went, rāmamēvahi Rama alone, tuṣaṭuvuḥ paid tribute

Thereafter all the Rakshasas and Vanaras also consecrated with extreme joy and paid tribute to Rama alone.
tasayāmātayājahṛṣirēbhakatāyēcāsayarākaṣasāḥ ।।6.115.17।।

dṛṣaṭavābhiṣikataṅlaṅakāyāṅrākaṣasēnadaraṅvibhīṣaṇama .


laṅakāyāma in Lanka, abhiṣikatama consecrated, rākaṣasēnadarama Rakshasa king, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, tasaya his, amātayāḥ ministers, asaya his, bhakatāḥ devotees, yērākaṣasāḥ this Rakshasa, jahṛṣirē felt rejoiced

Seeing Vibheeshana consecrated and becoming a king of Lanka, all his ministers and devotees felt rejoiced.
rāghavaḥparamāṅparītiṅjagāmasahalakaṣamaṇaḥ ।।6.115.18।।

sa tadarājayaṅmahataparāpayarāmadatataṅvibhīṣaṇaḥ .


sahalakaṣamaṇaḥ with Lakshmana, rāghavaḥ Raghava, paramāma extreme, parītima felicity, jagāma felt, saḥ he, vibhīṣaṇaḥ Vibheeshana, rāmadatatama given by Rama, mahata great, tata that rājayama kingdom, parāpaya attained

Vibheeshana felt extreme felicity for attaining the kingdom given by great Rama with Lakshmana.
parakṛtayasasānatavayitavā ca tatōrāmamupāgamata ।।6.115.19।।

dadhayakaṣatānamōdakāṅśacalājāsasumanasasatathā .

ājaharurathasanatuṣaṭāḥpaurāsatasamainiśācarāḥ ।।6.115.20।।


parakṛtīḥ subjects, sānatavayitavā consoling with good words, tataḥ that, rāmama Rama, upāgamata came, atha and then, paurāḥ people, niśācarāḥ night ranger, sanatuṣaṭāḥ very happy, dadhi curds, akaṣatāna rice mixed with turmeric, mōdakāṅśaca sweets, lājāḥ parched grain, tathā that way, sumanasaḥ flowers, tasamai on him, ājaharuḥ offered

Consoling the subjects of the kingdom with good words, Vibheeshana sought Rama's presence. The people were very happy and brought curds, yellow rice grains (rice mixed with turmeric), flowers and sweets and parched grain and offered.
saḥtāna gṛhītavāduradharaṣōrāghavāyanayavēdayata ।।6.115.21।।

māṅagalayaṅmaṅagalaṅsaravaṅlakaṣamaṇāya ca vīrayavāna .


duradharaṣaḥ difficult to encounter, vīrayavāna valiant, saḥhe, tāna him, gṛhītavā received, saravama all, māṅagalayama benign offerings, maṅagalama auspicious, rāghavāya to Raghava, lakaṣamaṇāya and Lakshmana, nayavēdayata presented

Valiant Vibheeshana, who is difficult to encounter, presented the benign offerings and auspicious ones received by him to Rama and Lakshmana.
kṛtakārayaṅsamṛdadhārathaṅdṛṣaṭavārāmōvibhīṣaṇama ।।6.115.22।।

paratijagarāhatatasaravaṅtasayaivapariyakāmayayā .


rāmaḥ Rama, kṛtakārayama accomplished, samṛdadhārathama richly endowed, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, tasaya his, pariyakāmayayāēva to please, tata those, saravama all, paratijagarāha received in return

Rama having accomplished the task, thoughtfully pleased did not desire for the offerings, accepted them to please Vibheeshana.
tataḥśailōpamaṅvīraṅparāñajaliṅparaṇataṅsathitama ।।6.115.23।।

uvācēdaṅvacōrāmōhanūmanataṅpalavaṅagamama .


tataḥ then, rāmaḥRama, śailōpamama like mountain, vīrama hero, parāñajalima greeting with joined palms, paraṇatama supplicant mood, sathitama stood, palavaṅagamama Vanara, hanūmanatama Hanuman, idaṅvacaḥ these words, uvāca spoke

Then Rama, seeing a heroic mountain like Hanuman, who stood there in supplicant mood greeting him with joined palms, spoke these words.
anujañāpayamahārājamimaṅsaumaya vibhīṣaṇama ।।6.115.24।।

paraviśayanagarīṅlaṅakāṅkauśalaṅbarūhimaithilīma .


saumaya gentle, mahārājama great king, imama this, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, anujañāpaya with permission, laṅakāṅnagarīma Lanka city, paraviśaya entering, maithilīma Mythili, kauśalama wellbeing, barūhi enquire

"O Gentle Hanuman! Taking the permission of the great king Vibheeshana, entering the city of Lanka, enquire the wellbeing of Mythili."
vaidēhayaimāṅkuśalinaṅsugarīvaṅ ca salakaṣamaṇama ।।6.115.25।।

ācakaṣavavadatāṅśarēṣaṭharāvaṇaṅ ca hataṅraṇē .


vadatāma eloquent, śarēṣaṭha best, māma me, salakaṣamaṇama and Lakshmana, sugarīvaṅ ca and Sugriva, kuśalinama are doing well, rāvaṇama Ravana, raṇē in combat, hatama killed, vaidēhayai Vaidehi, ācakaṣava tell her

"Convey to Vaidehi that me and Lakshman and also Sugriva are doing well, and that Ravana has been killed, O Best among the eloquent."
pariyamētadudāhṛtayavaidēhayāsatavaṅharīśavara ।।6.115.26।।

paratigṛhaya ca sanadēśamupāvaratitumarahasi .


harīśavara chief of Vanaras, tavama you, vaidēhayāḥ to Vaidehi, ētata all this, pariyama agreeable, udāhṛtaya conveying, sanadēśama message, paratigṛhaya taking, upāvaratituma return, arahasi ought to

"O chief of Vanaras! You convey this agreeable message to Vaidehi and ought to return after receiving her message."
