[The Fire god restores Sita to Sri Rama testifying her purity.]

ētacacharutavāśubhaṅvākayaṅpitāmahasamīritama .

aṅakēnādāyavaidēhimutapapātavibhāvasuḥ ।।6.121.1।।


vibhāvasuḥ fire god, pitāmahasamīritama address of Brahma, śubhama auspicious, ētata these, vākayama words, śarutavā hearing, vaidēhīma Vaidehi, aṅakēna under arms, ādāya picking, utapapāta arose

On hearing creator Brahma's address to Rama, fire god emerged picking auspicious Vaidehi in his arms.
navidhūyāthacitāṅtāṅtuvaidēhīṅhavayavāhanaḥ .

utatasathaumūratimānāśugṛhītavājanakātamajāma ।।6.121.2।।


atha and then, havayavāhanaḥ fire god, mūratimāna taking human form, āśu immediately, tāma those, citāma firesticks, vidhūya shaking off, janakātamajāma janaka's daughter, tāṅvaidēhīma that Vaidehi, gṛhītavā taking, utatasathau emerged

Then the fire god taking human form emerged from the fire immediately,with Janaka's daughter shaking off the fire sticks.
taruṇāditayasaṅakāśaṅtapatakāñacanabhūṣaṇāma .

rakatāmabaradharāṅbālāṅsīlakuñacitamūrathajāma ।।6.121.3।।

akaliṣaṭamālayābharaṇāṅtathārūpāmaninaditāma .

dadaurāmāyavaidēhīmaṅakēkṛtavāvibhāvasuḥ ।।6.121.4।।


vibhāvasuḥ fire god, taruṇāditayasaṅakāśama radiating brightly like rising sun, tapatakāñacanabhūṣaṇāma adorned with polished gold ornaments, rakatāmabaradharāma wearing red coloured robes, nīlakuñacitamūrathajāma with beautiful black hair, akaliṣaṭamālayābharaṇāma with fresh looking flowers, tathārūpāma in the same form as before, aninaditāma blameless, bālāma young, vaidēhīma Vaidehi, aṅakē arms, kṛtavā holding, rāmāya to Rama, dadau gave

Radiating like the rising sun, adorned with polished gold ornaments, wearing red coloured clothes, with beautiful black hair, wearing fresh flowers, being in the same young form as before, blameless Vaidehi was held in the arms of the fire god and presented to Rama.
abaravītatutadārāmaṅsākaṣīlōkasayapāvakaḥ .

ēṣātērāma vaidēhīpāpamasayāṅ na vidayatē ।।6.121.5।।


tadā then, lōkasaya in the world, sākaṣī witness, pāvakaḥ fire god, rāmama to Rama, abaravīta spoke tu you, rāma Rama, ēṣā this way, tē you, vaidēhī Vaidehi, asayāma she, pāpama sin, na vidayatē not know

Then the fire god who is a witness in the world, spoke to Rama," Here is your wife Vaidehi and she does not know any sin."
naivavācā na manasānaivabudadhayā na cakaṣuṣā .

suvṛtatāvṛtataśauṇaḍīrana tavāmatayacaracachubhā ।।6.121.6।।


suvṛtatā of good conduct, śubhā auspicious, vṛtataśauṇaḍīra endowed with valour, tavāma you, vācā speech, na atayacarata by intention, manasā in the mind, na not, budadhayā by intellect, naiva or else, cakaṣuṣā ca even with eyes

"Sita is of good conduct and auspicious. To you who are endowed with valour, she is faithful by speech, by intention of thought and intellect and even by glance."
rāvaṇēnāpanītaiṣāvīrayōsatikatēnarakaṣasā .

tavayāvirahitādīnāvivaśānirajanādavanāta ।।6.121.7।।


tavayā you, virahitā lonely, dīnā piteous, vivaśā having no control, ēṣā she, vīrayōsatikatēna proud of valour, rakaṣasā Rakshasa, rāvaṇēna by Ravana, nirajanāta when no one was there, vanāta from the forest, apanītā abducted

"When she was lonely, piteous, having no control, Rakshasa Ravana, who was proud of his valour abducted her from the forest when no one was there."
rudadhācānataḥpurēgupatātavacachitatātavataparāyaṇā .

rakaṣitārākaṣasībhiśacaghōrābhiraghōrabudadhibhiḥ ।।6.121.8।।


tavacachitatā seperated from you, tavataparāyaṇā fully absorbed in you, anataḥpurē in the gynaeceum, rudadhā frightful, gupatā secretly, ghōrābhiḥ terrific, ghōrabudadhibhiḥ ruthless mind, rākaṣasībhiḥ Rakshasa women, rakaṣitā to guard

"She was separated from you yet fully absorbed in you. She was kept in the gynaeceum secretly and guarded by frightful and ruthless Rakshasa women."
paralōbhayamānāvividhaṅbharatasayamānā ca maithilī .

nācinatayatatadarakaṣasatavadagatēnānatarātamanā ।।6.121.9।।


vividhama several, paralōbhayamānā tempted, bharatasayamānā threatened, maithilī Mythili, tavadagatēna set her mind on you only, anatarātamanā in herself, tata those, rakaṣaḥ Rakshasa, nācinatayata not thought of

" Although Mythili was tempted, threatened also, she had set her mind on you only and not thought of that Rakshasa."
viśudadhabhāvāṅniṣapāpāṅparatigṛhaṇīṣavamaithilīma .

na kiñacirabhidhātavayāahamājañāpayāmitē ।।6.121.10।।


viśudadhabhāvāma untainted mind, niṣapāpāma sinless, maithilīma Mythili, paratigṛhaṇīṣava take her back, kiñacita indeed, na abhidātavayā without any reply, ahama I am, tē you, ājañāpayāmi order

"Mythili is of untainted mind and a sinless one. Take her back without any reply, I am ordering you."
tataḥparītimānārāmaḥśarutayaivaṅvadatāṅvaraḥ .

dadhayaumuhūrataṅdharamātamābāṣapavayākulalōcanaḥ ।।6.121.11।।


tataḥ then, vadatāma good at speaking varaḥsupreme, dharamātamā truthful, rāmaḥ Rama, ēvama all that, śarutavā hearing, parītamanāḥ rejoiced at heart, bāṣapavayākulalōcanaḥ eyes filled with tears, muhūratama for a moment, dadhayau thought

Then the supremely righteous Rama, who is good at speaking rejoiced at heart, his eyes filled with tears, thought for a moment.
ēvamukatōmahātējādhṛtimānadṛḍhavikaramaḥ .

uvācataridaśaśarēṣaṭhaṅrāmōdharamabhṛtāṅvaraḥ ।।6.121.12।।


ēvama in that way, ukataḥ spoken, dhṛtimāna firm, dṛḍhavikaramaḥ determined valour, dharamabhṛtāma upholder of dharma, varaḥ supreme, rāmaḥ Rama, taridaśaśarēṣaṭhama Brahma, uvāca said

Rama who is endowed with valour and firmness, and an upholder of dharma, a supreme person said to Brahma.
avaśayaṅtariṣulōkēṣu na sītāpāpamarahati .

dīraghakālōṣitāhīyaṅrāvaṇānataḥpurēśubhā ।।6.121.13।।


sītā Sita, avaśayama surely, tariṣulōkēṣu in the three worlds, pāpama sin, na arahati not done, śubhā auspicious, iyama this, rāvaṇānataḥpurē in the gynaeceum of Ravana, dīraghakālōṣitāhi lived for log time

"That Sita is auspicious and has surely not done any sin is known to three worlds. But she lived long in the gynaeceum of Ravana."
bāliśōkhalukāmātamārāmōdaśarathātamajaḥ .

itivakaṣayanatimāṅsanatōjānakīmaviśōdhayahi ।।6.121.14।।


jānakīma Janaki, aviśōdaya without testing, daśarathātamajaḥ Dasharatha's son, rāmaḥ Rama, bāliśaḥ mighty, kāmātamā lusty at heart, khalu surely, iti thus, sanata: people, māma me, vakaṣayanati will say

"The people will surely say that mighty Dasharatha's son, Rama being lusty at heart has accepted Janaki without testing."
ananayahṛdayāṅbhakatāṅmacacitataparivaratinīma .

ahamapayavagacachāmimaithilīṅjanakātamajāma ।।6.121.15।।


macacitataparivaratinīma ever coming around me, janakātamajāma Janaka's daughter, maithilīma Mythili, ananayahṛdayāma undivided in her love, bhakatāma devoted, ahamapi to me, avagacachāmi I also know

"I also know that Mythili is ever coming around me with undivided love and is devoted to me."
imāmapiviśālākaṣīṅrakaṣitāṅsavēnatējasā .

rāvaṇōnātivaratētavēlāmivamahōdadhiḥ ।।6.121.16।।


savēnatējasā self-effulgent, rakaṣitāma can protect herself, imāma her, viśālākaṣīma broadeyed, mahōdadhiḥ great ocean, vēlāmiva bounds, rāvaṇaḥ Ravana, nātivaratēta not violate

"Naturally she is self-effulgent and can protect herself. Will Ravana be able to violate broad eyed Janakijust as the great ocean can't cross the bounds."
paratayayārathaṅtulōkānāṅtarayāṇāṅsatayasaṅśarayaḥ .

upēkaṣēcāpivaidēhīṅparaviśanatīṅhutāśanama ।।6.121.17।।


satayasaṅśarayaḥfollower of truth, tarayāṇāma three worlds, lōkānāma in the world, paratayayārathama to convince, hutāśanama fire, paraviśanatīma entering fire, vaidēhīma Vaidehi, upēkaṣēcāpiI was disregarding

" As I am a follower of truth only, to convince the three worlds I was disregarding Vaidehi entering fire."
na hiśakataḥsuduṣaṭātamāmanasāpihimaithilīma .

paradharaṣayitumaparāpayāṅdīpatāmaganiśikhāmiva ।।6.121.18।।


suduṣaṭātamā evil minded, aparāpayāma inaccessible, maithilīma Mythili, dīpatāma glowing, aganiśikhāmiva like flaming fire, manasāpi in thought also, paradharaṣayituma exhibiting, na hicaśakataḥ not possible

"It could not be possible for the evil- minded Rakshasa to access or lay thoughts on Mythili who was glowing like flames of fire."
nēyamarahaticaiśavarayaṅrāvaṇānataḥpurēśubhā .

ananayāhimayāsītābhāsakarēṇaparabhāyathā ।।6.121.19।।


śubhā auspicious, iyama she, rāvaṇānataḥpurē in the gynaeceum of Ravana, aiśavarayama fortune, nārahati, sītā Sita, bhāsakarēṇa even sun, parabhāyathā like the radiance, mayā by me, ananayāhi other than

" Auspicious Sita would not have cared for the fortunes in the gynaeceum of Ravana. She is just like the radiance of the sun attached to the sun, attached to me and none other."
viśudadhātariṣulōkēṣumaithilījanakātamajā .

na vihātuṅmayāśakayākīratirātavavatāyathā ।।6.121.20।।


janakātamajā Janaka's daughter, maithilī Mythili, tariṣulōkēṣu in the three worlds, viśudhadhā unsullied, ātamavatā from self, kīratiḥyathā like fame, mayā by me, vihātuma to renounce, na śakayā not feasible

"Mythili is unsullied in the three worlds. Renouncing her is not feasible just as fame and as she is like my own self."
avaśayaṅ ca mayākārayaṅsaravēṣāṅvōvacōhitama .

sanigadhānāṅlōkanādhānāmēvaṅ ca vadatāṅhitama ।।6.121.21।।


sanigadhānāma loving, lōkanāthānāma worship worthy of the world, ēvama in this way, hitama good advice, vadatāma speaking, vaḥsaravēṣāma to all, hitama good, vacaḥwords, mayā by me, avaśayama certainly, kārayama will do

"You are worship worthy of the world and loving people advising me in this way. Your words of good advice are good to all and for me. I will certainly follow."
itayēvamavijayīmahābalaḥparaśasayamānaḥsavakṛtēnakaramaṇā .

samētayarāmaḥpariyayāmahāyaśāḥsukhaṅsukhārahō.nubabhūvarāghavaḥ ।।6.121.22।।


vijayī victorious, mahābalaḥ endowed with mighty prowess, mahāyaśāḥ illustrious, sukhārahaḥ deserving happiness, rāghavaḥ Raghava, rāmaḥRama, itayēvama in this way, ukatavā having said, savakṛtēna by this karamaṇā for the service, paraśasayamānaḥ praised, pariyayā dear wife samētaya along with, sukhama happiness, anubabhūva enjoyed

Illustrious Raghava, endowed with mighty prowess, who deserved happiness, spoke like this to all for the service rendered. He was praised by all for his deeds and was happy with his dear wife.
।। itayāraṣēvālamīkīyēśarīmadarāmāyaṇēādikāvayēyudadhakāṇaḍēēkaviṅśatayutataraśatatamasasaragaḥ ।।
This is the end of one hundred and twenty-one sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
