[Lord Maheswara brings Dasharatha to Rama, Sita and Lakshmana. Dasharatha blesses the three.]

ētacacharutavāśubhaṅvākayaṅrāghavēṇānubhāṣitama .

tataśaśubhataraṅvākayaṅvayājahāramahēśavaraḥ ।।6.122.1।।


rāghavēṇa by Raghava, anubhāṣitama sweet reply, ētata this, śubhama auspicious, vākayama reply, śarutavā hearing, mahēśavaraḥ Lord Maheswara, tataḥ then, śubhatarama auspicious, vākayama words, vayājahāra delivered

On hearing the sweet reply of Raghava, Lord Maheswara delivered an auspicious message.
puṣakarākaṣa mahābāhō mahāvakaṣa paranatapa .

diṣaṭayākṛtamidaṅkaramatavayādharamabhṛtāṅvara ।।6.122.2।।


puṣakarākaṣa lotus -eyed, mahābāhō mighty -armed, mahāvakaṣaḥ broad-chested, paranatapama subduer of enemies, vara choicest, diṣaṭayā by good luck, idaṅkarama this deed, tavayā by you, kṛtama performed

"O Lotus-eyed, mighty armed, broad-chested, a subduer of enemies, by good luck you have performed this action."
diṣaṭayāsaravasayalōkasayaparavṛdadhaṅdāruṇaṅtamaḥ .

apāvṛtataṅtavayāsaṅakhayērāmarāvaṇajaṅbhayama ।।6.122.3।।


rāma Rama, saravasaya all, lōkasaya worlds, rāvaṇajama dread born of Ravana, bhayama fear, paravṛdadhama gloom, dāruṇama fierce, tamaḥhim, diṣaṭayā fortunately, tavayā by you, saṅakhayē in the war, apāvṛtatama covered

āśavāsayabharataṅdīnaṅkausalayāṅ ca yaśasavinīma .

kaikēyīṅ ca sumitarāṅ ca dṛṣaṭavālakaṣamaṇamātarama ।।6.122.4।।

parāpayarājayamayōdhayāyāṅnanadayitavāsuhṛjajanama .

ikaṣavākūṇāṅkulēvaṅśaṅsathāpayitavāmahābala ।।6.122.5।।

iṣaṭavāturagamēdhēnaparāpayacānutatamaṅyaśaḥ .

barāhamaṇēbhayōdhanaṅdatatavātaridivaṅganatumarahasi ।।6.122.6।।


mahābala endowed with mighty prowess, dīnama piteous, bharatama Bharata, yaśasavinīma illustrious, kausalayāṅ ca Kausalya also, āśavāsaya comforting, kaikēyīṅ ca Kaikeyi also, lakaṣamaṇamātarama Lakshmana's mother, sumitarāṅ ca Sumithra too, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, ayōdhayāyāma at Ayodhya, rājayama sovereignty, parāpayahaving got, suhṛjajanama relatives, nanadayitavā making happy, ikaṣavākūṇāma Ikshvaku clan kulē race, vaṅśama side, sathāpayitavā establishing, turagamēdhēna horse sacrifice, iṣaṭavā satisfying, anutatamama highest, yaśa: renown, parāpataya attain, barāhamaṇēbhayaḥ brahmins, dhanama wealth, datatavā giving, taridivama in all the three, ganatuma to go to heaven, arahasi deserve to

"Comforting piteous Bharata, illustrious Kausalya and Kaikeyi too, seeing Lakshmana's mother Sumithra, and attaining sovereignty, make relatives happy. Establishing Ikshvaku race, conducting horse sacrifice and satisfying the Lord attain highest renown by giving wealth in charity to brahmins. You, who are endowed with mighty prowess, deserve to go to heaven", said Lord Maheswara.
ēṣarājādaśarathōvimānasathaḥpitātava .

kākutasathamānuṣēlōkēgurusatavamahāyaśāḥ ।।6.122.7।।


kākutasatha Kakuthsa, mānuṣēlōkē in this mortal world, tava your, guruḥ teacher, tava your, pitā father, mahāyaśāḥ renowned, ēṣaḥthis, rājā king, daśarathaḥ Dasharatha, vimānasathaḥ in the aerial car

"O Kakuthsa! Here is your father, teacher in the mortal world, king Dasharatha seated in the aerial car."
inadaralōkaṅgataḥśarīmāṅsatavayāputarēṇatāritaḥ .

lakaṣamaṇēnasahabharātarātavamēmamabhivādaya ।।6.122.8।।

lakaṣamaṇēnasahabharātarādadaraśapitaraṅparabhuḥ ।।6.122.10।।

Raghava with his younger brother Lakshmana saw his father who was effulgent, blazing and adorned in white clothes.

parāṇaiḥpariyataraṅdṛṣaṭavāputaraṅdaśarathasatadā ।।6.122.11।।

ārōpayāṅakēmahabāhuravarāsanagataḥparabhuḥ .

bāhubhayāṅsamapariṣavajayatatōvākayaṅsamādadē ।।6.122.12।।


tadā then, vimānasathaḥ aerial car's, mahīpatiḥ ruler of the world, parabhuḥ Lord, varāsanagataḥ elevated seat, daśarathaḥ Dasharatha, parāṇaiḥ life, pariyatarama dearer, putarama son, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, mahatā extremely, haraṣēṇa rejoiced, āviṣaṭaḥ making him sit, aṅakē on his lap, ārōpaya seated, bāhubhayāma many, samapariṣavajaya embracing, tataḥ these, vākayama words, samādadē started

Then Dasaratha, the ruler of the world, seated in an elevated seat in the aerial car, seeing his son who was dearer than life to him, extremely rejoiced and made Raghava sit on his lap, embraced him, and started speaking as follows.
na mēsavaragōbahumatasasamamānaśacasuraraṣabhaiḥ .

tavayārāmavihīnasayasatayaṅparatiśṛṇōmitē ।।6.122.13।।


rāma Rama, tavayā by you, vihīnasaya having got separated, mē me, savaragaḥ heaven, na bahumataḥ by several, suraraṣabhaiḥ suras, samamānaśaca honouring, tē you, satayama true, paratiśṛṇōmi promise

"Rama separated from you, even the suras and sages honouring me in heaven does not give me happiness. It is true and I promise."
adayatavāṅnihatāmitaraṅdṛṣaṭavāsamapūraṇamānasama .

nisatīraṇavanavāsaṅ ca parītirāsītaparāmama ।।6.122.14।।

"Today the enemies are killed, and you have completed the exile. I am fully satisfied and experiencing joyfulness on seeing you."

tavaparavarājanārathānisathitānihṛdayēmama ।।6.122.15।।


vadatāma speaking, vara best, tava your, paravarājanārathāni send you with a motive, yāni those, vākayāni utterances, kaikēyayā of Kaikeyi, ukatāni spoken, tāni those, mama my, hṛdayē heart, sathitāni still hurt

"Those utterances of Kaikeyi with a motive to send you on exile are still hurting my heart, O Best among speakers!"
tavāṅtudṛṣaṭavākuśalinaṅpariṣavajayasalakaṣamaṇama .

adayaduḥkhādavimukatō.saminīhārādivabhāsakaraḥ ।।6.122.16।।


salakaṣamaṇama with Lakshmana, tavāma you, kuśalinama happily, dṛṣaṭavā seeing, pariṣavajaya embracing, adaya now, bhāsakaraḥ sun, nīhārādiva freed from mist, duḥkhāta from grief, vimukataḥ freed asami I am

"Seeing you with Lakshmana and embracing you makes me happy freed from grief just as the sun freed from mist."
tāritō.haṅtavayāputara suputarēṇamahātamanā .

aṣaṭāvakarēṇadharamātamākahōlōbarāhamaṇōyathā ।।6.122.17।।

vadhārathaṅrāvaṇasayēhavihitaṅpuruṣōtatama ।।6.122.18।।

rājayēcāvābhiṣikataṅ ca darakaṣayanatēvasudhādhipama ।।6.122.20।।


rāma Rama, purīma in the city, gatama on reaching, rājayē kingdom, abhiṣikataṅ ca consecration, tavāma your, vasudhādhipama as ruler of the world, yēnarāḥ these people, darakaṣayanatē will be seeing you, tē to you, sidadhārathā: khalu accomplished

"On reaching the city and consecrated in the kingdom as ruler of the world, people will see you as an accomplished person."
anurakatēnabalināśucinādharamacāriṇā .

icachēyaṅtavāmahaṅdaraṣaṭuṅbharatēnasamāgatama ।।6.122.21।।


anurakatēna reunited, balinā mighty, śucinā pure, dharamacāriṇā follower of dharma, bharatēna by Bharata, samāgatama returned, tavāma you, daraṣaṭuma seeing, ahama I, icachēyama desire to

"I desire to see you reunited with mighty Bharata who is pure and follower of dharma."
caturadaśasamāsasaumayavanēnirayātitāsatavayā .

vasatāsītayāsāradhaṅlakaṣamaṇēna ca dhīmatā ।।6.122.22।।


saumaya gentle, sītayāsāradhama along with Sita also, dhīmatā wise, lakaṣamaṇēna ca and Lakshmana, vasatā living, tavayā you, caturadhaśa fourteen, samāḥ years, vanē in the forest, nirayātitāḥ after my departure from life

"O Gentle Rama! Fourteen years have been spent in the forest with Sita and Lakshmana after my departure from life."
nivṛtatavanavāsō.siparatijañāpūritātavayā .

rāvaṇaṅ ca raṇēhatavādēvatāḥparitōṣitāḥ ।।6.122.23।।


nivṛtatavanavāsaḥ period of exile completed, asi even though, tavayā you, paratijañā promise, pūritā fully, raṇē in the battlefield, rāvaṇama Ravana, hatavā death, dēvatāḥ ca gods also, paritōṣitāḥ gratified

"The period of your exile has been completed, my promise has been fulfilled in the battlefield and the gods have also gratified you."
kṛtaṅkaramayaśaśaśalāghayaṅparāpataṅtēśatarusūdana .

bharātṛbhiḥsaharājayasathōdīraghamāyuravāpanuhi ।।6.122.24।।


śatarusūdana overthrower of enemy, karama action, kṛtama done, tē you, śalāghayama praise worthy, yaśaḥ fame, parāpatama attained, bharātṛbhiḥsaha with brother, rājayasathaḥ kingdom too, dīraghama long, āyuḥ life, avāpanuhi enjoy

itibaruvāṇaṅrājānaṅrāmaḥparāñajalirabaravīta .

kuruparasādaṅdharamajañakaikēyayābharatasaya ca ।।6.122.25।।


iti thus, baruvāṇama having spoken, rājānama by king Dasharatha, rāmaḥ Rama, parāñajaliḥ salutations with joined palms, abaravīta said, dharamajaña righteous, kaikēyayāḥ Kaikeyi, bharatasaya ca and brother too, parasādama grace, kuru do

Dasaratha having spoken to Rama, offered salutations with joined palms and said," You are righteous. Be gracious to Bharata and Kaikeyi also."
saputarāṅtavāṅtayajāmītiyadukatākēkayītavayā .

sa śāpaḥkēkayīṅghōrasasaputarāṅ na sapṛśētaparabhō ।।6.122.26।।


parabhōO Lord, saputarāma good son, tavāma you, tayajāmīti 'I disown', tavayā by you, kēkayī Kaikeyi, yata such a way, ukatā spoken, saḥ he, ghōraḥ dreadful, śāpaḥ curse, saputarāma to the good son, kēkayīma and Kaikeyi, na sasapṛśēta not touch

lakaṣamaṇaṅ ca pariṣavajayapunaravākayamuvāca ha ।।6.122.27।।

The king (Dasharatha) saying 'so be it' and embracing Lakshmana again and saluting Rama spoke to Lakshmana as follows.
rāmaṅśuśarūṣatābhakatayāvaidēhayāsahasītayā .

kṛtamamamahāparītiḥparāpataṅdharamaphalaṅ ca tē ।।6.122.28।।


vaidēhayā Vaidehi, sītayāsaha along with Sita, rāmama Rama, bhakatayā devotion, śuśarūṣatā, mama me, mahāparītiḥ very happy, kṛtā did, tē to you, dharamaphalaṅ ca merit of righteous task, parāpatama attained

"You have served with devotion to Rama and Sita and made me very happy. By this task you have earned the merit of righteousness."
dharamaṅparāpasayasidharamajaña yaśaśacavipulaṅbhuvi .

rāmēparasananēsavaragaṅ ca mahimānaṅtathōtatamāma ।।6.122.29।।


dharamajaña knower of dharma, dharamama dharma, bhuvi on this earth, vipulama extensive, yaśaśaca fame, parāpasayasi will attain, rāmē by Rama, parasananē pleased, savaragaṅ ca heaven, utatamama best, mahimānama supreme glory

"O knower of dharma! If Rama is pleased, extensive fame as well as heaven and supreme glory will be attained on this earth."
rāmaṅśuśarūṣabhadaraṅtēsumitarānanadavaradhana .

rāmasasaravasayalōkasayasubhēṣavabhirataḥsadā ।।6.122.30।।


sumitarānanadavaradhana enhancer of Sumithra's joy, tē you, bhadarama be auspicious, rāmama to Rama, śuśarūṣa service, rāmaḥ Rama, sadā always, saravalōkasaya in all the worlds, subhēṣu good, abhirataḥ will ever remain

"O Lakshmana, the enhancer of Sumithra's joy, 'Be auspicious. Rama will always remain good in the service of the three worlds."
ētēsēnadarāsatarayōlōkāsasidadhāśacaparamaraṣayaḥ .

abhigamayamahātamānamaracanatipuruṣōtatamama ।।6.122.31।।

dēvānāṅhṛdayaṅsaumaya guhayaṅrāmaḥparanatapa ।।6.122.32।।


saumaya gentle, paranatapa tormentor of enemies, avayakatama unmanifest, akaṣarama imperishable, dēvānāma gods, hṛdayama heart, guhayama secret, tata that alone, ētata this, barahama Brahma, rāmaḥ Rama, niramitama created, ukatama spoke

"O Gentle! Rama, the tormentor of enemies is the unmanifest and imperishable secret, is Brahma alone. This is created by Brahma. It is the secret in the heart of gods."
avāpataṅdharamacaraṇaṅyaśaśacavipulaṅtavayā .

ēnaṅśuśarūṣatābhakatayāvaidēhayāsahasītayā ।।6.122.33।।


vaidēhayā Videha's, sītayāsaha Sita also, ēnama in this manner, bhakatayā with devotion, śuśarūṣatā serving, tavayā your, dharamācaraṇama righteous path, avāpatama earned, vipulama great, yaśaśaca fame

"Videha's Sita, you have also earned fame by serving Rama with devotion and following the righteous path."
itayukatavālakaṣamaṇaṅrājāsanuṣāṅbadadhāñajaliṅsathitāma .

putarītayābhāṣayamadhuraṅśanairēnāmuvāca ha ।।6.122.34।।


rājā king, lakaṣamaṇama Lakshmana, iti this, ukatavā spoken, badadhāñajalima joined palms, sathitāma stood, sanuṣāma daughter in law, putari daughter, iti this, abhāṣaya addressed, ēnāma in this way, śanaiḥ gently, madhurama sweetly, uvāca said

rāmēṇētavadaviśudhayarathaṅkṛtamētadadhitaiṣiṇā ।।6.122.35।।

suduṣakaramidaṅputaritavacāritaralakaṣaṇama .

kṛtaṅyatatē.nayanārīṇāṅyaśōhayabhibhaviṣayati ।।6.122.36।।


putari daughter, tava your, cāritaralakaṣaṇama sign of your character, yata that which, suduṣakarama kṛtama done is highly difficult, tē you, idama this, anayanārīṇāma other women, yaśaḥ fame, abhibhaviṣayati in future

"Daughter! that which you have done is a sign of your character. It is highly difficult to do. You will overshadow the future of other women."
na tavaṅkāmaṅsamādhēyābharatṛśuśarūṣaṇaṅparati .

avaśayaṅtumayāvācayamēṣatēdaivataṅparama ।।6.122.37।।


tavama you, bharatṛśuśarūṣaṇaṅparati about the service to your husband, na samādhēyākāmama not to told, tu you, mayā by me, avaśayama surely, vācayama instructed, ēṣaḥ like this, tē you, parama supreme, daivatama god

"You need not be told about the service to your husband. Nevertheless, I am giving instruction. This Rama is supreme god for you."

inadaralōkaṅvimānēnayayaudaśarathōjavalana ।।6.122.38।।

Having admonished the two glowing sons, and Sita, Dasaratha went by aerial car to the world of Indra.
vimānamāsathāyamahānubhāvaḥśariyā ca samahṛṣaṭatananuranṛpōtatamaḥ .

āmanatayaputarausahasītayā ca jagāmadēvaparavarasayalōkama ।।6.122.39।।


mahānubhāvaḥ majestic king, nṛpōtatamaḥ best of kings, śariyā prosperous, samahṛṣaṭatanuḥ delighted, sītayā Sita saha accompanied by, putarau both sons, āmanataya taking seat, vimānama aerial car, āsathāya ascended, dēvaparavarasaya, abode of gods lōkama world, jagāma went

The best of kings, majestic and prosperous Dasharatha was delighted, bidding farewell to the sons and Sita ascended the aerial car and went to the abode of gods.
