[SriRama requests Vibheeshana for the aerial chart being anxious to depart and meet Bharata.]

tāṅrātarimuṣitaṅrāmaṅsukhōtathimarinadamama .

abaravītaparāñajaliravākayaṅjayaṅpṛṣaṭavāvibhīṣaṇaḥ ।।6.124.1।।


tāma them, rātarima night, uṣitama rising in the morning, sukhōtathima comfortably, arinadamama subduer of enemies, rāmama Rama, vibhīṣaṇaḥ Vibheeshana, jayama victory, pṛṣaṭavā asked, parājañaliḥ salutations, vākayama words, abaravīta spoke

Rising in the morning after comfortable rest that night, Vibheeshana saw Rama the subduer of enemies, offered salutations and asked him of the victory and spoke.
sanānānicāṅagarāgāṇivasatarāṇayābharaṇāni ca .

canadanāni ca divayānimālayānivividhāni ca ।।6.124.2।।

alaṅakāravidaśacēmānārayaḥpadamanibhēkaṣaṇāḥ .

upasathitāsatavāṅvidhavatasanāpayiṣayanatirāghava ।।6.124.3।।


rāghava Raghava, alaṅakāravidaḥ well versed in decoration, padamanibhēkaṣaṇāḥ lotus petal eyed, manārayaḥ at your service, sanānāni for bath, aṅagarāgāṇi cosmetics for anointing, vasatarāṇi clothes, ābharaṇāni ca ornaments, canadanāni ca sandal etc, divayāni wonderful, vividhāni several types, mālayāni ca garlands, upasathitāḥ are here, tavāma you, vidhivata as usual, sanāpayiṣayanati they will give you bath

These lotus petal eyed women well versed in decoration are at your service. They are willing to assist you in bath. There are cosmetics for anointing your body, and clothes as well as ornaments, sandal paste etc. for you. There are garlands of several types here.
ēvamukatasatukākutasatha: paratayuvācavibhīṣaṇama .

harīnasugarīvamukhayāṅsatavaṅsanānēnōpanimanataraya ।।6.124.4।।


ēvama in that way, ukataḥ spoken, kākutathasaḥ Kakuthsa, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, paratayuvāca replied, tavama you, sugarīvamukhayāna Sugriva and other chiefs, harīna monkeys, sanānēna for bath, upanimanataraya after bathe and anointing

When Vibheeshana had spoken like that, Kakuthsa Rama replied 'you and monkeys headed by Sugriva bathe and come.'
sa tutāmayatidharamātamāmamahētōsasukhōcitaḥ .

sukumārōmahābāhōkumāra: satayasaṅśarayaḥ ।।6.124.5।।


dharamātamā righteous, sukhōcitaḥ giving up comforts, sukumāraḥ delicate, mahābāhuḥ mighty armed, satayasaṅśarayaḥ resorting to truth, saḥkumāra: he, mamahētōḥ for my cause, tāmayati distressed

"Mighty armed Bharata, righteous, giving up comforts of delicate body, resorting to truth is distressed for my cause."
taṅvinākaikayīputaraṅbharataṅdharamacāriṇama .

na mēsanānaṅbahumataṅvasatarāṇayābharaṇāni ca ।।6.124.6।।


kaikayīputarama Kaikeyi's son, dharamacāriṇama follower of virtues, taṅbharataṅvinā without that Bharata, mē my, sanānama bath, na bahumatama why so many, satarāṇi clothes, ābharaṇāni ca ornaments also

"When the virtuous Bharata, son of Kaikeyi, is not here, why do I need bath, why so many clothes and ornaments?"
ētatapaśayayathākaṣiparaṅparatigacachāmatāṅpurīma .

ayōdhayāṅgacachatōhayēṣapanathāḥparamaduragamaḥ ।।6.124.7।।


tāṅpurīma that city, yathā as, paratigacachāma to return, ētata these, paśaya see, ayōdhayāma Ayodhya, gacachataḥ depart, ēṣaḥpanathāḥ this path, paramaduragamaḥhi very difficult also

" As it is very difficult to return to that city, think of the path to depart."
ēvamukatasatukākutasathaṅparatayuvācavibhīṣaṇaḥ .

ahanātavāṅparāpayiṣayāmitāṅpurīṅpārathivātamaja ।।6.124.8।।


ēvama in that manner, ukataḥ spoken, vibhīṣaṇaḥ Vibheeshana, kākutasathama to Kakuthsa, paratayuvāca replied back, pārathivātamaja son of ruler of the earth, tavāma you, tāṅpurīma your city, ahanā will, parāpayiṣayāmi make you reach

When Rama had spoken in the aforesaid manner, Vibheeshana replied" O son of the ruler of the earth! I will make you reach Ayodhya in a day."
puṣapakaṅnāmabhadaraṅtēvimānaṅsūrayasananibhama .

mamabharātuḥkubērasayarāvaṇēnabalīyasā ।।6.124.9।।

hṛtaṅnirajitayasaṅagarāmēkāmagaṅdivayamutatamama .

tavadarathaṅpālitaṅcēdaṅtiṣaṭhatayatulavikarama ।।6.124.10।।


atulavikarama unequal prowess, sūrayasananibhama, closely resembling sun kāmagama goes according to the will of the riders, divayama wonderful, utatamama excellent, puṣapakaṅnāma Pushpaka by name, mama my, bharātuḥ brother, kubērasaya Kubera's, vimānama aerial car, balīyasā by mighty, rāvaṇēna Ravana, saṅagarāmē in combat, hṛtama earned, tē you, bhadarama be auspicious, idama this, tavadarathama for your cause, pālitama ruled, tiṣaṭhati retained with me

" An aerial car called Pushpaka, a wonderful one, which closely resembles the sun, which goes according to the will of the rider has been retained with me. It was earned by Ravana from my brother Kubera in a combat. Be auspicious. O Rama, of unequal prowess, this is retained for your cause."
tadidaṅmēghasaṅakāśaṅvimānamihatiṣaṭhati .

tēnayāsayasiyānēnatavamayōdhayāṅgatajavaraḥ ।।6.124.11।।

"This aerial car which waits here which resembles a cloud, will take you to Ayodhya. Be fearless."
ahaṅtēyudayanugarāhayōyadisamarasimēguṇāna .

vasatāvadihaparājaña yadayasatimayisauhṛdama ।।6.124.12।।


parājaña wise, tē to you, ahama I, anugarāhayaḥyadi if you permit, mē me, guṇāna kindly, samarasiyadi if you remember, mayi me, sauhṛdama affection, asatiyadi if you have, iha here, vasatāvata stay for a while

"O Wise Rama! If you permit me, and think kindly of me and remember me, and if you have affection for me stay here for a while."
lakaṣamaṇēnasahabharātarāvaidēhayābhārayayāsaha .

aracitasasaravakāmaisatavaṅtatōrāma gamiṣayasi ।।6.124.13।।


rāma Rama, bharātarā brother, lakaṣamaṇēnasaha with Lakshmana, bhārayayā wife, vaidēhayāsaha with Vaidehi, tavama you, saravakāmaiḥ all requirements, aracitaḥ satisfied, tataḥ then, gamiṣayasi shall start

"Rama, if all your requirements are met and you are satisfied, then you can start with your brother Lakshmana and wife Vaidehi."
parītiyukatasayavihitāṅsasainayaḥsasuhṛdagaṇaḥ .

sakaratiyāṅrāmamētāvadagṛhēṇatavaṅmayōdayatāma ।।6.124.14।।


rāma Rama, sasainayaḥ this army, sasuhṛdagaṇaḥ host of friends, tavama you, mayā by me, udayatāma prepared, vihitāma arranged, parītiyukatasaya with affection, mē by me, sakaratiyāma at this one occasion, gṛhāṇatāvata you should accept

"Rama, you should accept this hospitality from me at this one occasion, which has been arranged with affection to the army and host of friends."
paraṇayādabhahumānācacasauhāradēna ca rāghava .

parasādāyāmiparēṣayō.haṅ na khalavājañāpayāmitē ।।6.124.15।।


rāghava Raghava, paraṇayāta my request, bahumānācacha high esteem, sauhāradēna ca out of friendliness, parasādayāmi I am requesting, ahama I, parēṣayaḥ a servant, tē you, nājañāpayāmikhalu not to command you

"I request you out of my high esteem towards you and friendliness. I am your servant and not commanding you to do so."
ēvamukatasatatōrāmaḥparatayuvācavibhīṣaṇama .

rakaṣasāṅvānarāṇāṅ ca saravēṣāmēvaśṛṇavatāma ।।6.124.16।।


ēvama, ukataḥ spoken, rāmaḥ Rama, tataḥ then, vibhīṣaṇama Vibheeshana, rakaṣasāma Rakshasas, vānarāṇāṅ ca and Vanaras, saravēṣāma all of them, śṛṇavatāma listening, paratayuvāca replied

On hearing Vibheeshana spoken in the aforesaid manner, Rama replied to the hearing of Rakshasas, Vanaras and all of them there.
pūjitō.samitavayāvīra sācivayēnaparanatapa .

saravātamanā ca cēṣaṭābhiḥsauhāradēnaparēṇa ca ।।6.124.17।।


paranatapa tormentor of enemies, vīra hero, sācivayēna friendship, cēṣaṭābhiḥ by your efforts, parēṇa, sauhāradēna ca good heartedness, saravātamanā all, tavayā by you, pūjitaḥ honoured, asami I

"O tormentor of enemies! Hero, I am honoured by your friendship, by your efforts, and good heartedness of all of you."
na khalavētananakurayāṅtēvacanaṅrākaṣasēśavara .

taṅtumēbharātaraṅdaraṣaṭuṅbharataṅtavaratēmanaḥ ।।6.124.18।।


rākaṣasēśavaratē the ruler of Rakshasas, ētata from whom, vacanama words, na kurayāmitina not doing what you tell khalu surely, tu you, bharātarama brother, tama them, bharatama Bharat, daraṣaṭuma to see, manaḥ my mind, tavaratē hastening

śirasāyācatōyasayavacanaṅ na kṛtaṅmayā ।।6.124.19।।

kausalayāṅ ca sumitarāṅ ca kaikēyīṅ ca yaśasavinīma .

guhaṅ ca suhṛdaṅcaivapaurānajanapadaisasaha ।।6.124.20।।


yaḥasau he who, māma me, nivaratayituma not turn down, citarakūṭama Chitrakuta, upāgataḥ reached, śirasā head bent down in obedience, yācataḥ beg, yasaya his, vacanama words, mayā by me, na kṛtama not done, kausalayāṅca Kausalya's also, sumitarāṅ ca sumithra, yaśasavinīma illustrious, kaikēyīṅ ca Kaikeyi too, suhṛdama good hearted, guhaṅca Guha also, jānapadaiḥsaha with people, paurāna citizens

"He came to Chitrakuta and on reaching bent down obediently, begged me by his words to return which I did not do. Kausalya, Sumithra and Kaikeyi and Guha also requested and the request of the citizens has been turned down.
anujānīhamāṅsaumaya pūjitō.samivibhīṣaṇa .

manayuranakhalukaratavayaḥsakhētavāṅcānumānayē ।।6.124.21।।


saumaya noble, vibhīṣaṇa Vibheeshana, māma to me, anujānīha permit me to go, pūjitaḥ honoured asami I am, sakhē friend, manayuḥ anger, na karatavayaḥkhalu let me do my duty, tavāma you, anumānayēca not feel sorry

Noble Vibheeshana! Please permit me to go. I am honoured by you, my friend. Do not be angry or feel sorry. Let me do my duty."
upasathāpayamēśīgharaṅvimānaṅrākaṣasēśavara .

kṛtakārayasayamēvāsaḥkathaṅsayādihasamamataḥ ।।6.124.22।।


rākaṣasēśavara ruler of Rakshasas, śīgharama quickly, mē my, vimānama aerial car, upasathāpaya send for, kṛtakārayasaya completed the task, mē my, iha here, vāsaḥ staying, kathama how, samamataḥ acceptable, sayāta staying

"O Ruler of Rakshasas, send for my aerial car. My task has been completed here. How can I continue to stay here?"

vimānasūrayasaṅakāśamājuhāvatavarānavitaḥ ।।6.124.23।।

tataḥkāñacanacitarāṅagaṅvaidūrayamaṇivēdikama .

kūṭāgāraiḥparikaṣipataṅsaravatōrajataparabhama ।।6.124.24।।

pāṇaḍurābhiḥpatākābhiradhavajaiśacasamalaṅakṛtama .

śōbhitaṅkāñacanairaharamayairahēmapadamavibhūṣitaiḥ ।।6.124.25।।

parakīraṇaṅkiṅakiṇījālairamukatāmaṇigavākaṣakama .

ghaṇaṭājālaiḥparikaṣipataṅsaravatōmadhurasavanama ।।6.124.26।।

yanamēruśikharākāraṅniramitaṅviśavakaramaṇā .

bṛhabhirabhūṣitaṅharamayairamukatārajataśōbhitaiḥ ।।6.124.27।।

talaisasaphaṭikacitarāṅagaidūrayaiśacavarāsanaiḥ .

mahārahāsataraṇōpētairupapananaṅmahādhanaiḥ ।।6.124.28।।

Rama having spoken that way, Vibheeshana the king of Rakshasas, hurriedly ordered for the aerial car. The aerial car Pushpaka's parts were decorated with golden pictures, its altars were made of cat's eye gems, its squares were fixed with pillars and shone like silver. It was surrounded on all sides with yellow pennons. It had posts and flags all over, decorated with golden lotuses. The mansions in Pushpak had networks scattered with eyeholes set with pearls like windows. It had rows of bells, surrounded on all sides which had sweet sound. The Pushpak constructed by Viswakarma was huge like mountain Meru's peak and decorated with silver and pearls. Its pavements were fixed with crystals and encrusted with cat's eye gems. The seats were excellent and had rich coverings.
upasathitamanādhṛṣayaṅtadavimānaṅmanōjavama .

nivēdayitavārāmāyatasathautataravibhīṣaṇaḥ ।।6.124.29।।

dṛṣaṭavātadāvisamayamājagāmarāmasasasaumitarirudārasatatava: ।।6.124.30।।
