[Sita wails at the sight of Rama's head presented by Ravana to her. Ravana abruptly leaves Ashoka grove.]

सासीतातच्छिरोदृष्टवातच्चकार्मुकमुत्तमम् ।

सुग्रीवप्रतिसंपर्गमाख्यातंचहनूमता ।।6.32.1।।

नयनेमुखवर्णंचभर्तुस्तत्सदृशंमुखम् ।

केशान् केशान्तदेशंचतंचचूडामणिंशुभम् ।।6.32.2।।

एतैस्सर्वेरभिज्ञानैरभिज्ञायसुदुःखिता ।

निजगर्हेचकैकेयींक्रोशन्तीकुररीयथा ।।6.32.3।।


सासीता that Sita, तत् then, शिरः head, उत्तमम् esteemed, तत् that, कार्मुकंच and the bow, हनूमता by Hanuman, आख्यातम् described by, सुग्रीप्रतिसंसर्गम् friendship with Sugriva, नयने the eyes, मुखवर्णंच and complexion of the face, भर्तुः husband 's, पदृशम् the eyes, तत् that, मुखम् face, केसान् the hair, केशान्तदेशंच curls at the end of hair, तम् them, शुभम् auspicious चूडामणिंच and Chudamani, दृष्टवा seeing, एतैः those सर्वैः all, अभिज्ञानैः recognizing, अभिज्ञाय perceiving similarity, सुदुःखिता very sad, कुररीयथा like a deer, क्रोशन्ती crying, कैकेयीम् Kaikeyi, निजगर्हेच abused.

On seeing the esteemed Rama's head and bow, remembering the description made by Hanuman about the friendship with Sugriva thinking of the eyes, complexion of the face, the hair, and curls of her husband at the end Sita recognized the auspicious Chudamani. Identifying all those marks to be like Rama's she felt very sad and cried like a deer and abused Kaikeyi.
सकामाभवकैकेयीहतोऽयंकुलनन्दनः ।

कुलमुत्सादितंसर्वंत्वयाकलहशीलया ।।6.32.4।।


कैकेयि O Kaikeyi, सकामा desire fulfilled, भव of yours, कुलनन्दनः delight of the race, आयम् this, हतः killed, कलहशीलया one who is given to creating quarrel, त्वया by you, सर्वम् all, कुलम् race, उत्सादितम् have ruined.

"O Kaikeyi! Your desire is fulfilled with the killing of the delight of the race. You, who are given to creating quarrel have ruined the race."
आर्येणकिंतेकैकेयी कृतंरामेणविप्रियम् ।

यन्मयाचीरवसनस्त्वयाप्रस्थापितोवनम् ।।6.32.5।।


आर्येण to the prince, रामेण to Rama, कैकेयी Kaikeyi, किमं what, विप्रियम् harm, कृतंनु you did, यत् to him, चीरवसनम् bark robes, त्वया by you, मया with me, वनम् forest, प्रस्थापितः cried.

"Kaikeyi, you have given bark robes to prince Rama and sent him to the forest with me. What harm has he done for you? Thinking of this again and again Sita cried."
एवमुक्त्वातुवैदेहीवेपमानातपस्विनी ।

जगामजगतींबालाछिन्नातुकदळीयथा ।।6.32.6।।


तपस्विनी miserable one, बाला young, वैदेही Vaidehi, एवम् in that way, उक्त्वा having said, वेपमाना trembling, छिन्ना cut off, कदळी banana, जगतीम् on to the ground, जगाम fell down.

That miserable young, Vaidehi, having said so, fell on the ground trembling like a cut off banana plant.
सामुहूर्तात्समाश्वास्यप्रतिलभ्यचचेतनाम् ।

तच्छिरस्समुपाघ्रायविललासायतेक्षणा ।।6.32.7।।


आयुतेक्षणा broadeyed one, सा she, अथ and then, मुहूर्तात् for a while, समाश्वास्य regaining, चेतनाम् consciousness, परिलभ्य remaining behind, तत् that, शिरः head, समुपाघ्राय sitting close by, विललास lamented.

Broadeyed Sita, regaining her consciousness after a while, sat close to the head of Rama and lamented.
हाहताऽस्मिमहाबाहो वीरव्रतमनुव्रत ।

इमांतेपश्चिमावस्थांगताऽस्मिविधवाकृता ।।6.32.8।।


महाबाहो mightyarmed, वीरव्रतम् heroic vow, अनुव्रत following, हा alas, हतास्मि you are killed, ते you, इमाम् thus, पश्चिमावस्थाम् in the last state of life, गताआस्मि live to see you, विधवा widowed, कृता am done.

"O mightyarmed one! Alas you are killed while following heroic vow. I live to see you in the last state of your life, widowed. I am done."
प्रथमंमरणंनार्याभर्तुर्वैगुण्यमुच्यते ।

सुवृत्त: स्साधुवृत्तायास्सम्वृत्तस्त्वंममाग्रतः ।।6.32.9।।


सुवृत्तः faithful to one's vows, प्रथमम् in front, भर्तुः husband 's, मरणम् death, नार्याः O noble one, वैगुण्यम् fault, उच्यते is said to be, त्वम् your, साधुवृत्तायाः of good conduct, मम I, अग्रतः in front, सम्वृत्तं virtuous one.

"O Rama, you are faithful to your vows, a noble one! It is said that because of a woman's faults, the husband will die. It is not even so as you died in front of a virtuous woman of good conduct."
दुःखाद्दुःखंप्रपन्नायामग्नायाश्शोकसागरे ।

योहिमामुद्यतनिस्त्रातुंसोऽपित्वंविनिपातितः ।।6.32.10।।


दुःखात् in grief, दुःखम् grief, प्रपन्नायाः reaching at, शोकसागरे ocean of sorrow, मग्नायाः filled, यः who, त्वम् you, त्रातु, to save उद्यतः have come, सोऽपि you are also, विनिपातितः are killed.

"I am in grief and filled with an ocean of sorrow. You who have come to save me and are also killed."
साश्वश्रूर्ममकौसल्यात्वयापुत्रेणराघव: ।

वत्सेनेवयथाधेनुर्विवत्सावत्सलाकृता ।।6.32.11।।


राघव Raghava, मम my, श्वश्रूः motherinlaw, कौसल्या Kausalya, वत्सला dear धेनुःयथा like a cow, पुत्रेण about son, त्वया likewise, वत्सेने about her dear son, विवत्साकृता is separated.

"O Raghava! Even my motherinlaw Kausalya is separated from her dear son just as cow is separated from calf."
आद्दिष्टंदीर्घमायुस्तेयैरचिन्त्यपराक्रम ।

अनृतंवचनंतेषामल्पायुरपिराघव ।।6.32.12।।


राघव Raghava, अचिन्त्यपराक्रम of incomprehensible valour, ते you, आयुः life, दीर्घम् long, उददिष्टम् predicted by astrologers, राघव Raghava, तेषाम् their, वचनम् word, आनृतम् is falsified, अल्पायुः short life, असि has been.

"O Raghava of incomprehensible valour! the words predicted by astrologers that your life is long is falsified. Your life has been short."
अथवानश्यतिप्रज्ञाप्राज्ञस्यापिसतस्तव ।

पचत्येनंयथाकालोभूतानांप्रभवोऽह्ययम् ।।6.32.13।।


अथवा or else, प्राज्ञास्यापिसतः even the learned ones, तन diffused, प्रज्ञा wisdom, नश्यति lost, यथा likewise, भूतानाम् living beings, प्रभवः effect, आयम् this, कालः time, एवम् in that way, पचति caused.

"Or else, even the wisdom of a learned one is diffused and lost perhaps! the effect of time which is the cause of all living beings has caused this."
अदृष्टंमृत्युमापन्नःकस्मात्त्वंनयशास्त्रवित् ।

व्यसनानामुपायज्ञःकुशलोह्यसिवर्जने ।।6.32.14।।


नयशास्त्रवित् knower of all sastras, त्वम् you, कस्मात् how did you meet, अदृष्टम् by chance, मृत्युम् death, आपन्नः overtakes you, उपायज्ञः ways of getting out, व्यसनानाम् calamities, वर्जने to ward off, कुशलः capable, असिहि you are also.

"You are the knower of all sastras, and capable of warding off all calamities. How did death have a chance to meet you and overtake?"
तथात्वंसम्परिष्वज्यरौद्रयाऽतिनृशंसया ।

काळरात्य्राममाच्छिद्यहृतःकमललोचन:।। 6.32.15।।


कमललोचन lotuseyed one, अतिनृशंसया most horrible, रौद्रया cruel, काळरात्य्रा dark night, तथा likewise, सम्परिष्वज्य after losing contact, मम me, आच्छिद्य cutting off, हृतः killed.

"O lotuseyed Rama! After you have lost contact with me, the most horrible cruel night has killed you cutting you off from me."
उपशेषेमहाबाहो: मांविहायतपस्विनीम् ।

प्रियामिवसमालशिष्यपृथिवींपुरुषर्षभ ।।6.32.16।।


महाबाहो mightyarmed one, पुरुषर्षभ bull among men, तपस्विनीम् noble one, माम् me, विहाय sky, पृथिवीम् the earth, प्रियामिव like beloved, समालशिष्य embraced, उपशेषे more over sleeping.

"O mightyarmed one! A bull among men and a noble one, you are embracing the earth as though it is your beloved and sleeping leaving me in the sky."
अर्चितंसततंयत्तद्गन्धमाल्यैर्मयातव ।

इदंतेमप्रतियंवीरधनुःकाञ्चानभूषणम् ।।6.32.17।।


वीर hero, इदम this, मया my, तव you, सततम् ever, यत्नात् diligently, गन्धमाल्यैः with sandal and flowers, अर्चितम् worshipped, मप्रतियम् with utmost devotion, काञ्चनभूषणम् decorated with gold, ते your, धनुः bow.

"O Hero! This bow that was decorated with gold was always worshipped with sandal and flowers diligently by you and me with utmost devotion."
पित्रादशरथेनत्वंश्वशुरेणममानघ: ।

सर्वैश्चपितृभिस्सार्थंनूनंस्वर्गेसमागतः ।।6.32.18।।


अनघ sinless one, त्वम् by you, मम me, श्वशुरेण with fatherinlaw, पित्रा father, दशरथेन by Dasaratha, सर्वैः all, पितृभि grand fathers स्सार्दम् with all, नूनम् surely, स्वर्गे heaven, समागतः reached.

"O Sinless one! Surely you have reached heaven where your father, my fatherinlaw Dasaratha and your grandfathers have reached."
दिविनक्षत्रभूतस्त्वंमहात्कर्मकृतप्रियम् ।

पुण्यंराजर्षिवंशंत्वमात्मनस्समुपेक्षसे ।।6.32.19।।


दिवि heaven, नक्षत्रभूतम् luminaries of the sky, प्रियम् dear, महत् great, कर्म deed, कृता done, त्वम् you, आत्मनः your own, पुण्यम् merit, राजर्षिवंशम् race of royal sages, समुपेक्षसे will be seeing.

"In heaven, you will be seeing luminaries of the sky who are dear, who have done great deeds and earned merit and the royal sages of your own race."
किंमांनप्रेक्षसेराजन् किंमांनप्रतिभाषसे ।

बालांबाल्येनसम्प्राप्तांभार्यांमांसहचारिणीम् ।।6.32.20।।


राजन् O king!, बाल्येन in young age, बालाम् from a young age, सम्प्राप्ताम् have come to you, सहचारिणीम् companion, भार्याम् our wife also, माम् me, नप्रेक्षसे you do not see, माम् me, किंना why, मांप्रतिभाषसे you are not talking to me.

"O King! I have come to you while I was young. I am your companion and wife also. Why are you not seeing me? Why are you not talking to me?"
संश्रुतंगृह्णतापाणिंचरिष्यामीतियत्त्वया ।

स्मरतन्ममकाकुत्स्थनयमामपिदुःखिताम् ।।6.32.21।।


काकुत्स्थ Kakutstha, पाणिम् hand, गृह्णता while held, त्वया by you, चरिष्यामिइति will be with you, यत् likewise, संश्रुतम् promised, तत् that, स्मरनाम remember, दुःखितम् sad, मामपि me too, नय such a one.

"O Kakutstha! while you held my hand (at the time of marriage) you promised that you will be with me and likewise promised to take me, a (wretched one) with you to the other world. Remembering that I am sad."
कस्मान्मामपहायत्वंगतोगतिमतांवर ।

अस्माल्लोकादमुंलोकंत्यक्त्वामामपिदुःखिताम् ।।6.32.22।।


गतिमताम् jewel among those who have good status, वर O jewel, त्वम् you, माम् me, अपहाय abandoning, कस्मात् why have you, गतः gone, दुखिःताम् I am pained, मामपि I am, त्यक्त्वा deserting, अस्मात् from this, लोकात् world, अमुम् heaven, लोकम् world.

"O Jewel among those who attained good state! Why have you gone abandoning me dear? To which world have you gone from here? I am pained by your deserting me."
कल्याणैरुचितंयत्तत्परिष्वक्तंमयैवतु ।

क्रव्यादैस्तच्छरीरंतेमानंविपरिकृष्यते ।।6.32.23।।


कल्याणैः auspicious, रुचितम् decorated, यत्तत् that which, मयैव by me, alone परिष्वक्तम् embracing, तत् that, शरीरम् body, मानम् with great respect, क्रव्यादैः cruel animals, इपरिकृष्यते is dragged.

"This body which used to be decorated by me with auspicious items, with great respect is dragged by cruel animals."
अग्निष्टोमादिभिर्यज्ञैरिष्टवानाप्तदक्षिणैः ।

अग्निहोत्रेणसंस्कारंकेनत्वंनतुलप्स्यसे ।।6.32.24।।


आप्तदक्षिणैः all offerings into fire, अग्निष्टोमादिभिः offerings in sacrificial fire, यज्ञैः sacrifices, इष्टवान् which you deserve, त्वम् you, अग्निङोत्रेण by sacrificial performances of fire, संस्कारम् sanctification, केन why, नतुलप्स्यसे you are not getting.

"Why are you, who performed all kinds of sacrificial rituals of fire with all offerings deserve sanctification without doing fire sacrifice?"
प्रव्रज्यामुपपन्नानांत्रयाणामेकमागतम् ।

परिप्रक्ष्यतिकौसल्यालक्ष्मणंशोकलालसा ।।6.32.25।।


शोकलालसा immersed in grief, कौसल्या Kausalya, प्रव्रज्याम् of the exiled ones, उपपन्नानाम् attended by, त्रयाणाम् of the three, आगतम् returning, एकम् alone, लक्ष्मणम् only Lakshmana, परिप्रेक्ष्यति will see returned.

"Seeing only Lakshmana returning, of the three exiled, Kausalya will be immersed in grief (will ask)."
सतस्याःपरिपृच्छन्त्यावधंमित्रबलस्यते ।

तवचाख्यास्यतेनूनंनिशायांराक्षसैर्वधम् ।।6.32.26।।


सः she, परिपृच्छन्त्याः when enquired by her, तस्याः you, निशायम् in the night, राक्षसैः by Rakshasas, तेमित्रबलस्य by the friend's army, वधम् slayed, तव your, बधंच and army, नूनम् indeed surely.

"When she questions, he may tell that you and your army were killed by the army of friends at night."
सात्वांसुप्तंहतंश्रुत्वामांचरक्षोगृहंगताम् ।

हृदयेनविदीर्णेननभविष्यतिराघव ।।6.32.27।।


राघव Raghava, सा that, त्वाम् your, सुप्तम् while asleep, हतम् killed, माम् me, रक्षोगृहम् in the home of Rakshasas, गताम् taken, श्रुत्वा on hearing अविदीर्णन broken, हृदयेन heart, नभविष्यति will not survive.

"Raghava! Hearing that you were killed while asleep and I was taken to the home of Rakshasas, Kausalya will not be able to survive with a broken heart."
ममहेतोरनार्यायाह्यनर्हःपार्थिवात्म: ।

रामस्सागरमुततीर्यसत्त्ववान् गोष्पदेहतः ।।6.32.28।।


अनर्हः undeserving, पार्थिवात्मजः son of emperor, सत्त्ववान् valiant, रामः Rama, अनार्यायाः not noble, मम my, हेतोः on account of, सागरम् ocean, उततीर्य having crossed, गोष्पदे for a footprint of cow, हतः killed.

"On account of an undeserving one, Rama, the son of the emperor, a valiant one who does not deserve to be killed, after having crossed the ocean is killed by a footprint of a cow(easily)."
अहंदाशरथेनोढामोहात्स्वकुलपांसनी ।

आर्यपुत्रस्यरामस्यभार्यामृत्युरजायत ।।6.32.29।।


स्वकुलपांसनी as an obloquy of his race, अहम् I am, दाशरथेन by the son of Dasaratha, मोहत् in ignorance, ऊढा married, आर्यपुत्रस्य son of noble one, रामस्य with Rama, भार्या wife, मृत्युः death, अजायत turned out to be.

"In ignorance as an obloquy of his race, the noble son of Dasaratha married me. For such Rama's wife turned out to be his death."
नूनमन्यांमयाजातिंवारितंदानमुत्तमम् ।

याहमद्येहशोचामिभार्यासर्वतिथेरपि ।।6.32.30।।


सर्वतितेः kind to all, भार्यापि even though wife, या also, अहम् I am, इह here, अध्य now, शोचामि pained, मया by me, अन्याम् other, जातिम् life, उत्तमम् supreme, दानम् charity, वारितम् obstructed, नूनम् surely.

"Undoubtedly I may have obstructed a supreme offering (such as offering a girl in marriage) in some other (previous) life. So now I am pained even though I am the wife of one who is kind to all."
साधुपातयमांक्षिप्रंरामस्योपरिरावण ।

समानयपतिंपन्त्याकुरुकल्याणमुत्तमम् ।।6.32.31।।


रावण Ravana, क्षिप्रम् quickly, माम् me, रामस्यउपरि on Rama, साधु do, पातय husband, सतिम् wife also, पत्नया with husband, समानय joined with, उत्तमम् highly, कल्याणम् auspicious, करु you may do.

"O Ravana! You may quickly join me with my husband as it will be highly auspicious for the wife to join the husband."
शिरसामेशिरश्चास्यकायंकायेनयोजय ।

रावणानुगमिष्यामिगतिंभर्तुर्महात्मनः ।।6.32.32।।


रावण Ravana, मेशिरसा my head, अस्य with his, शिरः head, कायेन body, कायम् with his body, येजय join, महात्मनः great soul, भर्तुः husband, गतिम् way, अनुगमिष्यामि will follow.

"O Ravana! Join my head with his and my body with his body. I will follow him in the same way."
इतिसदुःखसन्तप्ताविललापायतेक्षणा ।

भर्तुश्शिरोधनुस्तत्रसमीक्ष्यचपुनःपुनः ।।6.32.33।।


अयतेक्षणा broad eyed one, भर्तुः husband, शिरः head, धनुश्चैन at the bow, पुनःपुनः again and again, समीक्ष्य gazing, दुःखसन्तप्ता burning in sorrow, सइतिसा she thus, विलालस lamented.

Burning in sorrow, the broad eyed Sita gazing at the head of her husband and the bow again and again lamented.
एवंलालप्यमानायांसीतायांतत्रराक्षसः ।

अभिचक्रामभर्तारमनीकस्थःकृताञ्जलिः ।।6.32.34।।


सीतायां while Sita, एवम् in that way, लालप्यमानायाम् wailing as said before, तत्र there, अनीकस्थः guarding, राक्षसः Rakshasa, कृताञ्जालिः offered salutation, भर्तारम् to the king, अभिचक्राम approached.

While Sita was wailing in that manner, as said earlier, the Rakshasa guarding her approached the king and offered salutations with both hands.
विजयस्वार्यपुत्रेतिसोऽभिवाद्यप्रसाद्यच ।

न्यवेदयदनुप्राप्तंप्रहस्तंवाहिनीपतिम् ।।6.32.35।।


सः that Rakshasa, आर्यपुत्र to the king, विजयस्व let you be victorious, इति thus, अभिवाद्य greeted, प्रसाद्यच and reverentially, वाहिनीपतिम् chief of the army, प्रहस्तम् Prahastha, अनुप्राप्तम् has arrived, न्यवेदय् announced.

The Rakshasa (guard) greeted the king saying, "Let you be victorious!" and announced reverentially, "Prahastha, the army chief has arrived."
अमात्यैस्सहितस्सर्वैःप्रहस्तस्समुपस्थितः ।

तेनदर्शनकामेनवयंप्रस्थापिताःप्रभो ।।6.32.36।।


प्रभो O Lord, सर्वेः all, अमात्यैः ministers, सहितः accompanied by, प्रहस्तः Prahastha, त्वाम् to you, उपस्थितः waiting, दर्शनकामेन desiring to see you, तेन so, वयम् me, प्रस्थासितः sent.

"O Lord! Accompanied by all ministers Prahastha is waiting and sends me desiring to see you."
नूनमस्तिमहाराज राजभावात्क्षमान्वितं ।

किञ्चिदात्ययिकंकार्यंतेषांत्वंदर्शनंकुरु ।।6.32.37।।


महाराजा great king, क्षमान्वित endowed with forgiveness, राजभावात् with royalty, किञ्चित् a little, अत्ययिकम् urgent, कार्यम् work, अस्ति is, नूनम् undoubtedly, त्वम् you, तेषाम् them, दर्शनम् see, कुरु to.

"O great king, endowed with forgiveness and royalty! there is a little urgent work. Undoubtedly, they are waiting to see you please."
एतच्छ्रुत्वादशग्रीवोराक्षसप्रतिवेदितम् ।

अशोकन्विकांत्यक्त्वामन्त्रिणांदर्शनंययौ ।।6.32.38।।


दशग्रीवः tenheaded Ravana, एतत् all that (was said), राक्षसप्रतिवेदितम् submitted by Rakshasa, श्रुत्वा hearing, अशोकननकाम् from the Asoka grove, त्वक्त्वा left, मन्त्रिणाम् to the ministers, दर्सनम् to see, ययौ went.

On hearing the submission of the rakshasa, the tenheaded king left the Asoka grove to see the ministers.
सतुसर्वंसमर्थ्यैवमन्त्रिभिःकृत्यमात्मनः ।

सभांप्रविश्यविदधेविदित्वारामविक्रमम् ।।6.32.39।।


सः that he, मन्त्रिभिः and ministers, आत्मनः himself, सर्वम् all about (Rama's prowess), कृत्यम् the task to be carried out, समर्थ्यैव thinking carefully, सभाम् to the assembly, प्रविश्य entered, रामविक्रमम् Rama's prowess, विदित्वा having known, विदधे to do so.

Having known all about Rama's prowess, Ravana and ministers entered the assembly to think carefully about the task to be carried out and how to do it.
अन्तर्थानंतुतच्छीर्षंतच्चकार्मुकमुत्तमम् ।

जगामरावणस्यैवनिर्याणसमनन्तरम् ।।6.32.40।।


रावणस्य Ravana's, निर्याणसमनन्तरमेव as soon as he departed, तत् शीर्षम् that head, उत्तमम् excellent, तत् that, कार्मुकंच and the bow, अन्तर्थानम् vanished, जागाम went.

As soon as Ravana departed, that head and the excellent bow vanished from there.
राक्षसेन्द्रस्तुतैस्सार्धंमन्त्रिभिर्भीमविक्रमैः ।

समर्थयामासतदारामकार्यविनिश्चयम् ।।6.32.41।।


राक्षसेन्द्रस्तु even king of Rakshasas, भीमविक्रमैः of terrific valour, मन्त्रिभिः and ministers, तदा then, रामकार्यविनिश्चयम् to decide on the course of action to be taken against Rama, समर्थयामास thought over and decided.

The king of Rakshasas and the ministers of terrific valour then thought about the course of action to be taken against Rama and decided.
अविदूरस्थितान्सर्वान्बलाध्यक्षाहनितैषिणः ।

अब्रवीत्कालसदृशोरावणोराक्षसाधिपः ।।6.32.42।।


कालसदृशः resembling god of death, राक्षसादिपः Rakshasa king, रावणः Ravana, अविदूरस्थितान् stood not far from him, हितैषिणः wellwishers, सर्वान् all, बलाध्यक्षान् heads of army force अब्रवीत् spoke.

The Rakshasa king who resembled the god of death spoke to the heads of army force and wellwishers who stood close by.
शीघ्रंभेरीनिनादेनस्फुटंकोणाहतेनमे ।

समानयध्वंसैन्यानिवक्तव्यंचनकारणम् ।।6.32.43।।


स्फुटम् break forth, कोणाहतेन with powerful drumsticks, भेरिनिनादेनमे by beating the drums, सैन्यानि the army, समानयध्वम् let them be called to assemble, कारणम् reason, नचवक्तव्यम् without telling.

"Break forth by beating the drums with powerful drumsticks calling the army to assemble without telling the reason."
ततस्तथेतिप्रतिगृह्यतद्वचोबलाधिपास्तेमहदात्मनोबलम् ।

समानयंश्चैवसमागमंचतेन्यवेदयन्भर्तरियुद्धकाङ्क्षिणि ।।6.32.44।।


ततः then, ते those, दूताः attendants, तद्वचः those words, तथाइति so be it, प्रतिगृह्य taking hold, बलाधिपाते the powerful army, महता great, आत्मनो to him, बलंच and the army, समानयान् collected, समागतम् arrived, युद्धकाङ्क्षिणि one who was desirous of war.

Then the attendants collected the great powerful army saying, 'so be it', to Ravana who was desirous of war.
