[Kumbhakarna points out the misdeeds of Ravana, which has resulted in such a situation and assures Ravana to fight with Rama.]

tasyarākṣasarājasyaniśamyaparidēvitam .

kumbhakarṇōbabhāṣēdaṅvacanaṅprajahāsa ca ।।6.63.1।।


tasya his, rākṣasarājasya Rakshasa king's, paridēvitam lamentation, niśamya hearing, kumbhakarṇaḥ Kumbhakarna, idaṅvacanam these words, babhāṣē replied, prajahāsa ca laughing.

Hearing the lament of the Rakshasa king, Kumbhakarna replied laughing.
dṛṣṭōdōṣōhiyō.smābhiḥpurāmantranvirṇayē .

hitēṣvanabhiyuktēnasō.yamāsāditastvayā ।।6.63.2।।


purā earlier, mantranvirṇayē while we were discussing and taking decision, asmābhiḥ you, yaḥ that, dōṣaḥ disaster, dṛṣṭaḥ foreseen, saḥayam that I, hitēṣu wellwishers, anabhiyuktēna not trusted, tvayā by you, āsāditaḥ reaped.

"While we were discussing earlier and taking decisions, that disaster foreseen by me has reaped for having not trusted the well wishers."
śīghraṅkhalvabhyupētaṅtvāṅphalaṅpāpasyakarmaṇaḥ .

nirayēṣvēvapatanaṅyathāduṣkṛtakarmaṇaḥ ।।6.63.3।।


duṣkṛtakarmaṇaḥ those who do sinful deeds, nirayēṣu unobstructed, patanamēva fall down, yathā so also, pāpasya by the sinful, karmaṇaḥ action, phalam fruit, tvām you, śīghram quickly, upētaṅkhalu come upon you.

"Those who do sinful deeds fall unobstructed so also the fruit of your sinful action has come upon you."
prathamaṅvaimahārājakṛtyamētadacintitam .

kēvalaṅvīryadarpēṇanānubandhōvicintitaḥ ।।6.63.4।।


mahārāja king, ētat all this, kṛtyam action, prathamam first, acintitam not thought of, kēvalam only, vīryadarpēṇa pride of your prowess, anubandhaḥ consequence, navicintitaḥ not weighed.

"O king! All this action was not thought of at the beginning, nor the consequences of action weighed in the pride of your prowess."
yaḥpaścātūrvakāryāṇikuryādaiśvaryamāsthitaḥ .

pūrvaṅcōttarakāryāṇi na sa vēdanayānayā ।।6.63.5।।


yaḥ he who, aiśvaryam prosperity, āsthitaḥ confident, pūrvakāryāṇi earlier duties, paścāt defers, kuryāt action, uttarakāryāṇi later action, pūrvaṅ ca earlier, saḥ he, nayānayā right or wrong, na vēda does not know.

"Confident of prosperity, he who defers action earlier, he does not know what is right and wrong later on."
dēśakālavihīnānikarmāṇiviparītavat .

kriyamāṇāniduṣyantihavīṅṣyaprayatēṣviva ।।6.63.6।।


dēśakālavihīnāni without regard for time and place, viparītavat disastrous, kriyamāṇāni the actions performed, karmāṇi actions, aprayatēṣu not sanctified, havīṅṣīva like the oblations, prayatēṣyiva offered to fire, duṣyanti wasted.

" Actions performed without regard for time and place will be disastrous like the oblations offered into fire without consecration, gets wasted."
trayāṇāṅpañcadhāyōgaṅkarmaṇāṅyaḥprapaśyati .

sacivaissamayaṅkṛtvā sa sabhyēvartatēpathi ।।6.63.7।।


yaḥ he who, sacivaiḥ ministers, samayam timely, kṛtvā does, trayāṇām threefold, karmaṇām actions, pañcadhā five aspects, yōgam unites, prapaśyati considering, saḥ he, padhiiva like the path, vartatē performs.

He who thinks with ministers and considers the five aspects of threefold duties and moves in the right path performs (Five aspects of action are the method of initiating action, material to be worked upon, time and place of action, provision against mischance and the chances of success). Threefold duties with reference to enemies are Sama, Daana, and Bedha."
yathāgamaṅ ca yōrājāsamayaṅvicikīrṣati .

budhyatēsacivānbadhyāsuhṛdaścānupaśyati ।।6.63.8।।


yaḥ he who, rājā king, yathāgamaṅ ca controlling, samayaṅ proper time, vicikīrṣati in accordance with justice, budhyā intelligently, sacivān ministers, budhyatē thinking, suhṛdaśca with friends, anupaśyati understands rightly.

"The king who does his duty in time in accordance with justice and thinking intelligently with his ministers, understands rightly."
dharmamarthaṅ ca kāmaṅ ca sarvānvārakṣasāṅpatē .

bhajatēpuruṣaḥkālētrīṇidvandvānivāpunaḥ ।।6.63.9।।


rakṣasāṅpatē Rakshasa king, puruṣaḥ man, dharmam duty, arthaṅ ca worldly gain, kāmaṅ ca sensual pleasures, sarvānvā or all, trīṇi three, dvandvānivā at least two, kālē in time, bhajatē should pursue.

"O Rakshasa king! A man should pursue his duty or worldly gain or sensual pleasures all the three combined or at least any two in time (the scriptures lay down that duty should be pursued in the morning, wealth in the afternoon and sensual pleasures at night)."
triṣucaitēṣuyacchrēṣṭhaṅśrutvātannāvabudhyatē .

rājāvārājamātrōvāvyarthaṅtasyabahuśrutam ।।6.63.10।।


rājāvā king or, rājamātrōvā equal to king, ētēṣu of these, triṣu three, yat that, śrēṣṭham best, śrutvā hearing, tat that, nāvabudhyatē not recognize it, tasya his, bahu many, śrutam heard, vyartham is in vain.

" A sovereign king or a king hearing these three does not recognize the best of the three is in vain even though he heard many."
upapradānaṅsāntvaṅ ca bhēdaṅkālē ca vikramam .

yōgaṅ ca rakṣasāṅśrēṣṭhatāvubhau ca nayānayau ।।6.63.11।।

kālēdharmārthakāmānyassammantṟyasacivaiḥsaha .

niṣēvētātmavānlōkē na sa vyasanamāpnuyāt ।।6.63.12।।


rakṣasām Rakshasas, śrēṣṭha foremost, yaḥ you are, upapradānam gifting, sāntvaṅ ca conciliation, bhēdaṅ ca dissension, ubhau both, tau together, nayānayau at the appropriate time, kālē right time, dharmārthakāmān virtue, wealth and sensual pleasures, sacivaiḥsaha with ministers, sammantṟya discussing, niṣēvēta resorts to, ātmavān self, saḥ he, vyasanam sorrow, nāpnuyāt not meet.

"You are the foremost of the Rakshasas! After discussing with ministers, a king either by gifting or conciliation or dissension or resorting to all of them at the appropriate time takes resort to pursue virtue, wealth, or sensual pleasures at the right time, never meets with sorrow."
hitānubandhamālōcyakāryātkāryamihātmanaḥ .

rājāsahārthatattvajñaissacivairbussahijīvati ।।6.63.13।।


rājā king, arthatattvajñaiḥ reality of things, sacivaiḥsahi with ministers, ātmanaḥ himself, hitānubandham What is beneficial, ālōkya thinking well, iha here, kāryam action, kāryāt by their action, jīvati living.

"That king who knows the reality of things and makes decisions in consultation with his ministers, who make their living with their intelligence will live happily."
anabhijñāyaśāstrārthān puruṣāḥpaśubuddhayaḥ .

prāgalbhyādvaktumicchantimantrēṣvabhyantarīkṛtāḥ ।।6.63.14।।


mantrēṣu with ministers, abhyantarīkṛtāḥ being included in to express their views, paśubuddhayaḥ those who have the intelligence level of animals, puruṣāḥ men, śāstrārthān meaning of shastras, anabhijñāya not knowing, prāgalbhyāt impudence, vaktum expressing, icchanti desire.

"People whose intelligence level is no better than animals, who have been included to express their views, who do not know the meaning of shastras express their views out of impudence."
aśāstraviduṣāṅtēṣāṅ na kāryamabhihitaṅvacaḥ .

arthaśāstrānabhijñānāṅvipulāṅśriyamicchatām ।।6.63.15।।


aśāstraviduṣām who having no knowledge of shastras, ardhaśāstrānabhijñānām ignorant of science of wealth, vipulām huge, śriyam wealth, icchatām desire, tēṣām their, abhihitam advice, vacaḥ words, na kāryam not to be followed.

"Those who have no knowledge of shastras are ignorant of the science of wealth and desire huge wealth. Their advice ought not to be followed."
ahitaṅ ca hitākāraṅdhārṣṭyājjalpantiyēnarāḥ .

avēkṣyamantrabāhyāstēkartavyāḥkṛtyadūṣaṇā:।। 6.63.16।।


yē those, narāḥ people, hitākāram in wholesome grab, ahitam not good, dhārṣṭyāt out of impudence, jalpanti prattle, kṛtyadūṣaṇā: mar the purpose, tē they, avēkṣya examining early, mantrabāhyāḥ keep them away from discussion, kartavyāḥ is essential duty.

"Those who tender advice, which is unwholesome but in wholesome grab, out of their impudence should be kept away from discussion examining early as they mar the purpose."
vināśayantōbhartāraṅsahitāśśatrubhirbudhaiḥ .

viparītānikṛtyānikārayantīhamantriṇaḥ ।।6.63.17।।


iha some, mantriṇaḥ ministers, bhartāram king's, vināśayantaḥ to ruin, budhaiḥ, śatrubhiḥ enemies, sahitāḥ collide, viparītāni wrong, kṛtyāni actions, kārayanti will undertake.

"Some ministers in order to ruin the king, collide with enemies and make the king take wrong actions."
tānbhartāmitrasaṅkāśānamitrānmantranirṇayē .

vyavahārēṇajānīyātsacivānupasamhitān ।।6.63.18।।


bhartā ruler, upasamhitān who have become close to enemy, mitrasaṅkāśān appearing as friends, amitrān enemies, tān they, sacivān ministers, mantranirṇayē through their behaviour, vyavahārēṇa in deliberations, jānīyāt must know.

" A ruler should know those ministers bribed by the enemy, who have become close to the enemy and appear as friends. Those ministers must be known through their behaviour in the deliberations."
capalasyēhakṛtyānisahasānupradhāvataḥ .

chidramanyēprapadyantēkrauñcasya kha mivadvijāḥ ।।6.63.19।।


capalasya unsteady, kṛtyāni actions, sahasā forcibly, anupradhāvataḥ rush after, chidram containing holes, krauñcasya Krauncha mountain, kham birds, dvijāḥiva like brahmins, anyē other, prapadyantē elaborate.

"Enemies find out the weakness of the king who is unsteady and rush after the actions forcibly without thinking like brahmins just as birds find the holes in Krauncha mountain and elaborate to others."
yōhiśatrumavajñāyanātmānamabhirakṣati .

avāpnōtihisō.narthān sthānāccavyavarōpyatē ।।6.63.20।।


yaḥ he who, śatrum enemy, avajñāya knowing fully, ātmānam himself, nābhirakṣati does not protect himself, saḥ he, anarthān reverses, avāpnōtihi attains, sthānāt from position, vyavarōpyatē ca is dragged

"He who knowing fully the actions of the enemy does not protect himself he attains reverses and is also dragged down from position."
yaduktamihatēpūrvaṅkriyatāmanujēna ca .

tadēvanōhitaṅvākyaṅyadicchasi ca tatkuru ।।6.63.21।।


pūrvam in the past, tē you, anujēna brother's, yat that which, uktam was told, kriyatām do that, naḥ not, tat that, vākyamēva that advice alone, hitam is good, yat that, icchasi you wish, tat that, kuru you may do.

"The advice given to you in the past by your brother alone is good. That is good for you. Or you may do what you wish."
tattuśrutvādaśagrīvaḥkumbhakarṇasyabhāṣitam .

bhrukuṭiṅcaivasañcakrēkruddhaścainamabhāṣata ।।6.63.22।।


daśagrīvaḥtu ten headed Ravana, kumbhakarṇasya Kumbhakarna's, tat that, bhāṣitam spoken, śrutvā having heard, bhrukuṭim eyebrows, sañcakrē shaking frowned, kruddhaśca in anger, ēnam this way, abhāṣata spoke.

Kumbhakarna having spoken that way, the ten headed Ravana frowned, shaking his eyebrows in anger and spoke this way.
mānyōguruvāricāryaḥkimāṅtvamanuśāsasi .

kimēvaṅvākchramaṅkṛtvākālēyuktaṅvidhīyatām ।।6.63.23।।


mānyaḥ worthy of respect, guruḥ father, ācāryaḥiva like teacher, tvam you, mām me, kim why, anuśāsasē instruct, ēvam in that way, vākchramam cleverness in speaking, kṛtvā doing, kim why, kālē time, yuktam is appropriate, vidhīyatām follow.

"Why do you, who are worthy of respect, instruct me like a father or teacher? These words express your cleverness in speaking. It is time to do what is appropriate now. Follow what is to be done."
vibhramāccittamōhādvābalavīryāśrayēṇavā .

nābhipannamidānīṅyadvyarthātasyapunaḥkathāḥ ।।6.63.24।।


vibhramāt due to delusion, cittamōhādvā lack of understanding, balavīryaśrayēṇavā or due to pride of strength, yat that, nābhipannam did something, tasya that, idānīm now to talk of it, puḥkathāḥ again the same story, vyarthā is futile

"Due to delusion, or lack of understanding or due to pride of my strength I did something. To talk of it now again is futile."
asminkālētuyadyuktaṅtadidānīṅvidhīyatām .

gataṅtunānuśōcantigataṅtugatamēvahi ।।6.63.25।।


asmin that alone, kālē time, yat that, yuktam which is proper, tat that, idānīm to do now, vidhīyatām you may speak, gatam past, na anuśōcanti not think of again, gatam past, gatamēvahi is past.

"You may speak of only what is proper to do now. Do not think of the past as it is gone."
mamāpanayajaṅdōṣaṅvikramēṇasamīkuru .

yadikhalvastimēsnēhōvikramaṅvā.vagacchasi ।।6.63.26।।

yadivakāryaṅmētattēhṛdikāryatamaṅmatam .


mē to me, snēhaḥ affection, astikhaluyadi if at all it is there now, vikramam valour, avagacchasivā if you recognize, mama to me, ētat this, kāryam action, tē you hṛdi at heart, kāryatamam What ought to be done, mataṅyadi if you deem it right, mama to me, apanayajam justified, dōṣam evil, vikramēṇa by valour, samīkuru nullify.

"If at all there is any affection in you for me now, you recognize your strengths and think what action is justified in your heart. You may nullify the evil that sprung from my heart."
sa suhṛdyōvipannārthaṅdīnamabhyavapadyatē ।।6.63.27।।

sa bandhuryō.panītēṣusāhāyyāyōpakalpatē .


yaḥ he who, vipannārtham fortune at loss, dīnam desperate, abhyavapadyatē, saḥ he, suhṛt out of love, yaḥ he, apanītēṣu deviating from morals, sāhāyyāya one who helps, upakalpatē prepared, saḥ he, bandhuḥ is a relation.

" A friend is one who helps when one's fortune is lost and is desperate. Deviating from morals the one who is prepared to help is a relation."
tamathaivaṅbruvāṇaṅtuvacanaṅdhīradāruṇam ।।6.63.28।।

ruṣṭō.yamitivijñāyaśanaiśślakṣaṇamuvāca ha .


atha and then, ēvam in that way, dhīradāruṇam grave and harsh, vacanam tone, bruvāṇam arguing, tam him, ayam exceedingly, ruṣṭaḥ agitated, iti thus, vijñāya knowing, saḥ he, śanaiḥ slowly, ślakṣaṇam gentle tone, uvāca ha spoke.

Thereafter knowing that Ravana is agitated and arguing in a grave and harsh manner, Kumbhakarna, spoke slowly in a gentle tone.
atīvahisamālakṣyabhrātaraṅkṣubhitēndriyam ।।6.63.29।।

kumbhakarṇaśśanairvākyaṅbabhāṣēparisāntvayan .


bhrātaram brother, atīva very much, kṣubhitēndriyam disturbed senses, samālakṣya taking hold, kumbhakarṇaḥ Kumbhakarna, parisāntvayan consoling, śanaiḥ slowly, vākyam words, babhāṣē said.

Sensing that Ravana is disturbed very much, Kumbhakarna taking hold of the brother and consoling him slowly said these words.
śṛṇurājannavahitōmamavākyamarindama ।।6.63.30।।

alaṅrākṣasarājēndra santāpamupapadyatē .

rōṣaṅ ca samparityajyasvasthōbhavitumarhasi ।।6.63.31।।


rākṣasarājēndra Rakshasa king, arindama scourge of enemies, rājan king, avahitaḥ putting aside, mama my, vākyam words, śṛṇu listen, tē you, santāpam sorrow, upapadya arrive at, alam even, rōṣaṅ ca agony, samparityajya, svasthaḥ normal, bhavitum you be, arhasi ought to.

"Listen to my words, Rakshasa king! You are a scourge of enemies. Put aside this sorrow. Give up the agony also. Be normal. You ought to be your normal self again."
naitanmanasikartavyaṅmayijīvatipārthiva .

tamahaṅnāśayiṣyāmiyatkṛtēparitapyatē ।।6.63.32।।


pārthiva my body, mayi I am, jīvati life, ētat all this, manasi in mind, na kartavyam not to be entertained, yatkṛtē by whose account, paritapyatē you are agitated, tam him, aham I, nāśayiṣyāmi will exterminate.

"While I am (my body is) with life you need not entertain despondency. I will exterminate him, by whose account you are agitated."
avaśyaṅtuhitaṅvācyaṅsarvāvasthāṅtavamayā .

bandhubhāvādabhihitaṅbhrātṛsnēhācchapārthiva ।।6.63.33।।


pārthiva king, sarvāvasthāṅ in all circumstances, tavam to you, mayā I am, avaśyam certainly, hitam good advice, tu to you, vācyam give, bandhubhāvat being a relation, bhrātṛsnēhāccha brotherly affection, abhihitam salutary advice.

"O king! I will give you good advice in all circumstances being a relation. Salutary advice has been given to you out of brotherly affection."
sadṛśaṅyattukālē.smin kartuṅsnigdhēnabandhunā .

śatrūṇāṅkadanaṅpaśyakriyamāṇaṅmayāraṇē ।।6.63.34।।


asmin at this, kālē time, bandunā relation, snigdhēna out of affection, yat, kartum will do, sadṛśam right, raṇē in war, mayā by me, kriyamāṇam action, śatrūṇām enemies, kadanam destruction, paśya you will see.

" At this time, you will see a relation doing that which is right out of affection. All enemies will be destroyed."
adyapaśyamahābāhō mayāsamaramūrdhani .

hatērāmēsahabhrātrādravantīṅharivāhinīm ।।6.63.35।।


mahābāhō mighty armed, mayā by me, adya, raṇamūrdhani in war front, rāmē Rama, bhrātrāsaha along with brother, hatē kill, dravantīm fleeing, harivāhinīm Vanara army, paśya you see.

"O mighty armed King! You see Rama along with his brother being killed by me and Vanaras fleeing away from the forefront of war."
adyarāmasyataddṛṣṭavāmayānītaṅraṇācchiraḥ .

sukhībhavamahābāhō sītābhavatuduḥkhitā ।।6.63.36।।


mahābāhō mighty armed, adya now, raṇāt from war, ānītam will bring, rāmasya Rama's, tat that, śiraḥ head, dṛṣṭavā seeing, sukhī be happy, bhava you, sītā Sita, duḥkhitā sad, bhavatu will be.

"Be happy today, O Mighty armed brother! I will bring Rama's head from the battlefield. Sita will be sad. You will see."
adyarāmasyapaśyantunidhanaṅsumahatpriyam .

laṅkāyāṅrākṣasāḥsarvēyētēnihatabāndhavāḥ ।।6.63.37।।


laṅkāyām at Lanka, yē those, rākṣasāḥ Rakshasas, nihatabāndhavāḥ relations killed, tēsarvē all of them, adya now, rāmasya Rama's, sumahatpriyam very welcome, nidhanam death, paśyantu witness.

" All the Rakshasas in Lanka whose relations have been killed will witness Rama's death which will be very welcome."
adyaśōkaparītānāṅsvabandhuvadhakāraṇāt .

śatrōryudhivināśēnakarōmyasrapramārjanam ।।6.63.38।।


adya now, yudhi in war, śatrōḥ enemy, vināśēna abode, svabandhuvadha and their kin kāraṇāt for that reason, śōkaparītānām bewailing loss, asrapramārjanam wipe their tears, karōmi will do.

Now I will wipe the tears of Rakshasas who lost their kin and are bewailing their loss.
adyaparvatasaṅkāśaṅsasūryamivatōyadam .

vikīrṇaṅpaśyasamarēsugrīvaṅplavagōttama ।।6.63.39।।


adya now, samarē in war, prakīrṇam of mountain shape, parvatasaṅkāśam resembling mountain, sasūryam illumined by evening Sun, tōyadam iva like a cloud water, plavagōttama foremost of the monkeys, sugrīvam Sugriva, paśya see.

"Now you will see Sugriva the foremost of monkeys in mountain shape, resembling mountains bathed in blood like evening Sun illumined like the cloud."
kathaṅ ca rākṣasairēbhirmayā ca parirakṣitaḥ .

jighāṅsubhirdāśarathiṅ vadhyasē tvamihānagha ।।6.63.40।।


anagha sinless Ravana, dāśarathim Son of Dasaratha, jighāṅsubhiḥ intending to kill, ēbhiḥrākṣasaiḥ these Rakshasas, mayāca I am also, parirakṣitaḥ protecting, tvam you, iha here, kathaṅ ca why, vadhyasē can kill.

"O Sinless Ravana! As I am going to kill this son of Dasaratha whom Rakshasas are intending to kill, how can Rama kill you now?"
māṅnihatyakilatvāṅhinihaniṣyatirāghavaḥ .

nāhamātmanisantāpaṅgacchēyaṅrākṣasādhipa ।।6.63.41।।


rākṣasādhipa Rakshasa king, rāghavaḥ Raghava, mām me, nihatya not kill, tvām you, nihaniṣyatikilahi will kill you after killing me, aham I, ātmani myself, santāpam distress, na gacchēyam never give way.

"Rakshasa king! Raghava will kill you only after killing me. Never give way for distress."
kāmaṅvatidānīmapimāṅvyādiśatvaṅparantapa .

na paraḥprēṣaṇīyastēyuddhāyātulavikrama ।।6.63.42।।


parantapa scorcher of enemies, atulavikrama endowed with extraordinary strength, idānīmapi at this moment, kāmam better than me, mām me, vyādiśa command, yuddhāya to wage war, paraḥ others, na prēṣaṇīyaḥ no one to besought for.

"Command me to wage war at this moment, O Scorcher of enemies. There is no one better than me to be sought for O hero endowed with extraordinary strength."
ahamutsādayiṣyāmiśatrūṅstavamahābala: .

yadiśakrōyadiyamōyadipāvakamārutau ।।6.63.43।।

tānahaṅyōdhayiṣyāmikubēravaruṇāvapi .


aham I am, mahābala: mighty strong, tavaśatrūn your enemy, utsādayiṣyāmi contend with, śakraḥ Indra yadi or, yamaḥ Yama yadi or, pāvakamārutauyadi fire god or wind god, kubēravaruṇāvapi Kubera or Varuna also, tān them, aham I, yōthayiṣyāmi exterminate them.

"I shall exterminate your enemies, however mighty they may be. I can contend with Indra or fire god or Yama or wind god, Kubera or even Varuna."
girimātraśarīrasyaśitaśūladharasyamē ।।6.63.44।।

nardatastīkṣaṇadaṅṣṭrasyabibhīyāccapurandaraḥ .


girimātraśarīrasya body as big as a mountain, śitaśūradharasya with spike like pointed teeth, tīkṣaṇadaṅṣṭrasya sharp too the d, nardataḥ roar, mē my, purandaraḥ Indra, bhibhīyāt ca will run out of fear.

"Even Indra with a body as big as a mountain, with pointed teeth like a spike, with sharp teeth will fear me and run if I roar.
athavātyaktaśastrasyamṛdnatastarasāripūn ।।6.63.45।।

na mēpratimukhēsthātuṅkaścit śaktōjijīviṣuḥ .


athavā or else, tyaktaśastrasya giving up weapons, tarasā crush, ripūn enemy, mṛdnataḥ with swords and shafts, mē I, jijīviṣuḥ with arms, kaścit indeed, pratimukhē opposite to me, sthātum to stand, na śaktaḥ not possible.

"Or else giving up weapons and swords using my arms indeed I can crush, and no one can stand in front of me."
naivaśaktyā na gadayānāsināniśitaiśśaraiḥ ।।6.63.46।।

hastābhyāmēvasamrabdōhaniṣyāmyapivajriṇam .


śaktyā javelin, naiva not, gadayā mace, na not, asinā sword, niśitaiḥ sharp, śaraiḥ arrows, naiva not, samrabdaḥ enraged, hastābhyāmēva with hand s alone, vajriṇamapi even Indra, haniṣyāmi strike down.

"I shall not fight with javelin or mace or sword or sharp arrows. Enraged, alone I can strike down even Indra."
yadimēmuṣṭivēgaṅ sa rāghavō.dyasahiṣyatē ।।6.63.47।।

tataḥpāśyantibāṇaughārudhiraṅrāghavasyatu .


adya now, rāghavaḥ Raghava, tu you, muṣṭivēgam force of my fists, sahiṣyatiyadi can with stand, tataḥ that he, mē my, bāṇaughāḥ volleys of arrows, rāghavasya Raghava's, rudhiram blood, pāśyanti see.

"Now if that Raghava can withstand the force of my fists, you will see volleys of Rama's arrows will drink my blood."
cintayābādhyasērājankimarthaṅmayitiṣṭhati ।।6.63.48।।

sō.haṅśatruvināśāya tava niryātumudyataḥ .


rājan king, mayi I am, tiṣṭhati here, kimartham for what purpose, cintayā worry, bādhyasē anxiety, saḥ he, aham I, tava your, śatruvināśāya will destroy your enemy, niryātum decidedly, udyataḥ going now.

"O King! while I am here for what reason do you worry and have anxiety? I will go now and decidedly destroy your enemy."
muñcarāmādbhayaṅrāja nhaniṣyāmīhasamyugē ।।6.63.49।।

rāghavaṅlakṣmaṇaṅcaivasugrīvaṅ ca mahābalam .

hanūmantaṅ ca rakṣōghnaṅlaṅkāyēnapradīpitā ।।6.63.50।।


rājan king, bhayam fear, muñca give up, iha here, samyugē battlefield, rāghavam Rama, lakṣmaṇaṅ Lakshmana, mahābalam mighty, sugrīvaṅ ca Sugriva also, yēna our, laṅkā Lanka, pradīpitā who set fire, rakṣōghnam many Rakshasas, hanūmantaṅ ca Hanuman also, nihaniṣyāmi dispose of.

"O King! Give up the fear, as both Rama and Lakshmana will be made short of work in the battlefield, as also mighty Sugriva and dispose of Hanuman, the destroyer of many Rakshasas and who set fire to Lanka."
harīṅścāpihaniyiṣyāmisaṅyugēsamavāsthivān .

asādhāraṇamicchāminadātuṅmahadyaśaḥ ।।6.63.51।।


samavāsthivān remain steady, saṅyugē in the battlefield, harīn ca api even monkeys also, haniyiṣyāmi confer, tava your, asādhāraṇam unusual, mahat great, yaśaḥ glory, dātum confer, icchāmi wish to.

"I will remain steady in the battlefield and devour monkeys also. I wish to confer an unusual and great glory on you."
tadicēndrādbhayaṅ rājanyadi cāpisvayambhuvaḥ .

tatō.haṅnāśayiṣyāminaiśaṅtamaivāṅśumān ।।6.63.52।।

apidēvāśśayiṣyantēkruddhēmayimahītalē .


rājan king, indrāt with Indra, bhayaṅyadi if there is fear, svayambhuvaḥcāpi even if there is fear with Brahma, tataḥ that, aham I, naiśam haunts, tamaḥ them, aṅśumāniva like Sun, nāśayiṣyāmi will destroy, mayi by me, kruddhē by my anger, dēvāḥ Deva api also, mahītalē on the earth, śayiṣyantē fall flat.

"Even if there is fear of Indra and Brahma that haunts you, I shall destroy them away like the sun dispels darkness. Devas will fall flat on earth when I am enraged."
yamaṅ ca śamayiṣyāmibhakṣayiṣyāmipāvakam ।।6.63.53।।

ādityaṅpātayiṣyāmisanakṣatraṅmahītalē .


yamaṅ ca Yama also, śamayiṣyāmi quell, pāvakam fire god, bhakṣayiṣyāmi will devour, sanakṣatram including stars, ādityam Sun, mahītalē on the earth, pātayiṣyāmi make them fall.

"I shall quell Lord Yama also, devour fire god, make the Sun including stars fall on earth."
śatakratuṅvadhiṣyāmipāsyāmivaruṇālayam ।।6.63.54।।

parvatāṅścūrṇayiṣyāmidārayiṣyāmimēdinīm .


śatakratum Indra who has done hundred sacrifices, vadhiṣyāmi will kill, varuṇālayam ocean the abode of god Varuna, pāsyāmi will drink up, parvatān mountains, cūrṇayiṣyāmi will crush them totally, mēdinīm earth, dārayiṣyāmi break.

"I shall kill Indra who has done a hundred sacrifices, drink up the ocean the abode of Varuna, crush the mountains totally, and break the earth."
dīrghakālaṅprasuptasyakumbhakarṇasyavikramam ।।6.63.55।।

adyapaśyantubhūtānibhakṣyamāṇānisarvaśaḥ .

nanvidaṅtridivaṅsarvamāhārasya na pūryatē ।।6.63.56।।


adya now, sarvaśaḥ all over, bhakṣyamāṇāni will be eaten, bhūtāni beings, dīrghakālam for long time, prasuptasya has been sleeping, kumbhakarṇasya Kumbhakarna's, vikramam prowess, paśyantu will see, idam now, sarvam all, tridivam three worlds (earth, heaven and intermediate region), āhārasya food, na pūryatēnanu my stomach will not be filled.

" All beings all over will be eaten now. For a long time Kumbhakarna was sleeping. Now you will see that the food of all the three worlds, earth, heaven and intermediate region will not be enough to fill my stomach."
vadhēnatēdāśarathēḥsukhārhaṅsukhaṅsamāhartumahaṅvrajāmi .

nihatyarāmaṅsahalakṣmaṇēnakhādāminhariyūthamukhyān ।।6.63.57।।


dāśarathēḥ son of Dasaratha, vadhēna destruction of, tē you, sukhāvaham worthy of happiness, sukham for your happiness, samahartum will collect, aham I, vrajāmi in the battlefield, lakṣmaṇēnasaha along with Lakshmana, rāmam Rama, nihatya on killing, sarvān all, hariyūthamukhyān Vanara leaders, khādāmi will devour.

"Through the destruction of Rama, I will bring happiness to you who are worthy of happiness. I will collect Rama along with Lakshmana and all the Vanara leaders and devour all."
ramasvarājan pibacādyavāruṇīṅkuruṣvakṛtyānivinīyatāṅm .

mayādyarāmēgamitēyamakṣyaṅcirāyasītāvaśagāti ।।6.63.58।।


rājan king, ramasva Rama's, adya now, vāruṇīm wine, piba ca drink, jvaraḥ, vinīyatām give up agony, kṛtyāni works, kuruṣva start doing, adya now, mayā by me, rāmē Rama, yamakṣyam to the abode of Yama, gamitē will be going, cirāya for long, sītā Sita, vaśagā will submit to your will, bhaviṣyati will be.

"O King! Now you drink wine, give up agony and start with work. Now Rama will be going to the abode of Yama sent by me. Sita will submit to you for long."
