[Hanuman kills Devanthaka and Trisira. Neela puts an end to Mahodara and Rshaba kills Mahaparsva.]

narāntakaṅhataṅdṛṣṭavācukruśurnairṛtarṣabhāḥ .

dēvāntakastrimūrdhā ca paulastyaścamahōdaraḥ ।।6.70.1।।


narāntakam Naranthaka, hatam killed, dṛṣṭavā seeing, nairṛtarṣabhāḥ bull among Rakshasas, dēvāntakaḥ Devanthaka, trimūrdhā ca Trisira, paulastyaḥ of Paulastya, mahōdaraḥ ca and Mahodara, cukruśuḥ cried aloud.

Seeing the bulls among Rakshasas Naranthaka, Devanthaka, Trisira and Mahodara a scion of Paulastya and Mahodara, killed the Rakshasas cried aloud.
ārūḍhōmēghasaṅkāśaṅvāraṇēndraṅmahōdaraḥ .

vāliputraṅmahāvīryamabhidudrāvavīryavān ।।6.70.2।।


mahōdaraḥ Mahodara, mēghasaṅkāśam resembling cloud, vāraṇēndram best of elephants, ārūḍhaḥ mounted, vīryavān courageous, mahāvīryam brave, vāliputram Vali's son, abhidudrāva chased.

Mahodara who closely resembled a cloud, mounted on the best of elephants chased brave and courageous son of Vali.
bhrārātṛvyasanasantaptastadādēvāntakōbalī .

ādāyaparighaṅdīptamaṅgadaṅsamabhidravat ।।6.70.3।।


tadā then, bhrātṛvyasanasantaptaḥ immersed in the grief of brother, balī powerful, dēvāntakaḥ Devanthaka, dīptam glowing, parigham iron bar, ādāya taking hold of, aṅgadam at Angada, samabhidravat rushed forward.

Then, powerful Devanthaka who was immersed in grief of his brother, taking hold of a glowing iron bar rushed forward towards Angada.
rathamādityasaṅkāśaṅyuktaṅparamavājibhiḥ .

āsthāyatriśirāvīrōvāliputramathābhyayāt ।।6.70.4।।


atha and then, vīraḥ hero, triśirāḥ Trisira, vājibhiḥ best horse, yuktam yoked, ādityasaṅkāśam effulgent as the Sun, ratham chariot, āsthāya taking seat, vāliputram Vali's son, abhyayāt marched.

Then Trisira, seated on the chariot, effulgent as the Sun, yoked to the best horse marched towards Angada.
sa tribhirdēvadarpaghnērnērṛtīndrērabhidrutaḥ .

vṛkṣamutpāṭayāmāsamahāviṭapamaṅgadaḥ ।।6.70.5।।


dēvadarpaghnēḥ capable of crushing the pride of gods, tribhiḥ all the three, nairṛtēndraḥ chiefs of Rakshasas abhidrutaḥ marching towards, saḥ he, aṅgadaḥ Angada, mahāviṭapam huge, vṛkṣam tree, utpāṭayāmāsa uprooted.

Angada observed that all the three chiefs of Rakshasas, who were capable of crushing the pride of gods marching towards him and uprooted a huge tree.
dēvāntakāyataṅvīracśikṣēpasahasāṅgadaḥ .

mahāvṛkṣaṅmahāśākhaṅśakrōdīptamivāśanim ।।6.70.6।।


vīraḥ hero, aṅgadaḥ Angada, mahāśākham huge branches, tam those, mahāvṛkṣam huge tree, śakraḥ branches, dīptam flaming, aśanam iva flaming thunderbolt, sahasā with force, dēvāntakāya Devanthaka, cikṣēpa hurled.

Just as Indra took a flaming thunderbolt, Angada, the hero took hold of huge branches of trees and hurled at Devanthaka with force.
triśirāstaṅpracicchēdaśarairāśīviṣōpamaiḥ .

sa vṛkṣaṅkṛttamālōkyautpapātatadāṅgadaḥ ।।6.70.7।।


triśirāḥ Trisira, āśīviṣōpamaiḥ venomous serpents, śaraiḥ arrows, tam them, pracicchēda split, tadā then, kṛttam action, vṛkṣam trees, ālōkya observing, saḥaṅgadaḥ that Angada, utpapāta flew up.

Trisira split the trees with the arrows which were like venomous serpents. Observing Angada's action he flew up.
sa vavarṣatatōvṛkṣān śailāścakapikuñjaraḥ .

tān pracicchēdasaṅkṛddhastriśirāniśitaiśśaraiḥ ।।6.70.8।।


tataḥ then, saḥ he, kapikuñjaraḥ leader of monkeys, vṛkṣān trees, śailāśca rocks also, vavarṣasaṅkṛddhaḥ rained in anger, triśirāḥ Trisira, niśitaiḥ sharp, śaraiḥ arrows, tān himself, pracicchēda split.

Then the leader of the monkeys, rained trees and rocks. Angry Trisira attacked all of them with sharp arrows.
parighāgrēṇatān vṛkṣānbabhañja ca mahōdaraḥ .

triśirāścāṅgadaṅvīramabhidudrāvasāyakaiḥ ।।6.70.9।।


mahōdaraḥ Mahodara, parighāgrēṇa with the iron clubs, tān them, vṛkṣān trees, babhañja shattered, triśirāḥ Trisira, sāyakaiḥ arrows, vīram brave, aṅgadam Angada, abhidudrāva attacked.

Mahodara shattered those trees with the iron clubs. Trisira attacked brave Angada with arrows.
gajēnasamabhidrutyavāliputraṅmahōdaraḥ .

jaghānōrasisaṅkṛddhastōmarairvajrasannibhaiḥ ।।6.70.10।।


mahōdaraḥ Mahodara, gajēna with elephant, vāliputram Vali's son, samabhidrutya chased towards, saṅkṛddhaḥ in anger, vajrasannibhaiḥ which were like lightning, tōmaraiḥ iron clubs, urasi chest, jaghāna attacked.

Mahodara chased the elephant on to Angada in anger and attacked him on his chest with his iron clubs.
dēvāntakaścasaṅkṛddhaḥparighēṇatadāṅgadam .

upagamyābhihatyāśuvyapacakrāmavēgavān ।।6.70.11।।


tadā then, vēgavān quickly, dēvāntakaḥ ca Devanthaka also, saṅkṛddhaḥ very furious, aṅgadam Angada, upagamya came over, āśu directly, parighēṇa by the iron club, abhihatya attacked, vyapacakrāma retreated.

Then infuriated Devanthaka quickly came over Angada directly and attacked him with his iron club and retreated.
satribhirnairṛtaśrēṣṭhairyugatapatsamabhidrutaḥ .

na vivyathēmahātējāvāliputraḥpratāpavān ।।6.70.12।।


tribhiḥ three, nairṛtaśrēṣṭhaiḥ foremost of Rakshasas, yugapat together, abhidrutaḥ attacked, mahātējāḥ highly energetic, pratāpavān eminent, saḥ he, vāliputraḥ Vali's son, na vivyathē not feel perturbed.

Eminent and highly energetic son of Vali did not feel perturbed when three of the foremost Rakshasas attacked him together.
sa vēgavānmahāvēgaṅkṛtvāparamadurjayaḥ .

talēnabhṛśamutpatyajaghānāsyamahāgajam ।।6.70.13।।


vēgavān endowed with high speed durjayaḥ very difficult to encounter, saḥ he, mahāvēgam quickly, kṛtvā done, bhṛśamutpatya jumping up, asya their, mahāgajam huge elephant, talēna by the head, jaghāna attacked.

Angada, who was endowed with high speed, and exceedingly difficult to encounter, jumped up the huge elephant of Mahodara attacked him.
tasyatēnaprahārēṇanāgarājasyasaṅyugē .

pētaturlōcanētasyavinanāda sa vāraṇaḥ ।।6.70.14।।


tasya its, tēna by that, prahārēṇa blow, saṅyugē in battle, tasyanāgarājasya that royal elephant, nayanē eyes, rōcayē dropped, saḥ the, vāraṇaḥ elephant, vinanāda cried.

By that blow of Angada, that king of elephant's eyes dropped, and it cried.
viṣāṇaṅcāsyasaḥniṣkṛṣyavāliputrōmahābalaḥ .

dēvāntakamabhiplutyatāḍayāmāsasaṅyugē ।।6.70.15।।


mahābalaḥ mighty, vāliputraḥ Vali's son, saṅyugē in battle, asya his, viṣāṇam tusk, niṣkṛṣya removed, dēvāntakam Devanthaka, abhidrutya jumping over, tāḍayāmāsa hit him.

Mighty son of Vali removed the tusk of the elephant and hit Devanthaka with it by jumping over him in the battlefield.
sa vihvalastutējasvīvātōddhūtaivadrumaḥ .

lakṣārasasavarṇaṅ ca susrāvarudhiraṅmahat ।।6.70.16।।


tējasvī astonishing, saḥ he, vātōddhūtaḥ thrown by the wind, drumaḥiva like a tree, vihvalaḥ shaken, lākṣārasasavarṇam colour of lacquer, mahat huge amount, rudhiram blood, susrāva shed.

That astonishing Rakshasa shaken like a tree, thrown by the wind, shed huge amounts of blood which was of the colour of lacquer.
athāśvasyamahātējāḥkṛcchrāddēvāntakōbalī .

āvidhyaparighaṅvēgādājaghānatadāṅgadam ।।6.70.17।।


atha and then, balī strong, mahātējāḥ terrible, dēvāntakaḥ Devanthaka, kṛcchrāt iron spike, āśvasya on the horse, tadā then, vēgāt quickly, parigham iron club, āvidhya taking hold, aṅgadam Angada, ājaghāna pierced.

Thereafter the terribly strong Devanthaka taking iron spike quickly pierced Angada.
parighābhihataścāpivānarēndrātmajastadā .

jānubhyāṅpatitōbūmaupunarēvōtpapāta ha ।।6.70.18।।


tadā then, parighābhihataḥ hurt by iron bar, vānarēndrātmajaḥ son of Vanara king, bhūmau ground, jānubhyām on the knees, patitaḥ fallen, punarēva once again, utpapāta ha got up.

Then, hurt by the club the son of Vanara king fell down on his knees once again and got up.
tamutpatantaṅtriśirāstribhirbāṇairajihmagaiḥ .

ghōrairharipatēḥputrēṅlalāṭē.bhijaghāna ha ।।6.70.19।।


triśirāḥ Trisira, utpatantam who got up, putram son, tam him, ghōraiḥ terrible, ajahmagaiḥ straight going three, bāṇaiḥ arrows, lalāṭē on forehead, abhijaghāna ha again hit.

While Angada was getting up, Trisira again hit him on the forehead with three straight going arrows.
tatō.ṅgadaṅparikṣiptaṅtribhirnairṛtapuṅgavaiḥ .

hanūmānapivijñāyanīlaścāpipratasthatuḥ ।।6.70.20।।


tataḥ then, hanūmān Hanuman, nīlaścāpi as well as Neela, tribhiḥ three, nairṛtapuṅgavaiḥ Rakshasa leaders, aṅgadam Angada, parikṣiptam surrounding, vijñāya knowing, atha again, pratasthatuḥ set out.

Then finding Angada surrounded by the three Rakshasa leaders, Hanuman as well as Neela set out.
taścikṣēpaśailāgraṅnīlastriśirasētadā .

tadrāvaṇasutōdhīmābanibhēdaniśitaiśśaraiḥ ।।6.70.21।।


tataḥ there upon, nīlaḥ Neela, tadā then, triśirasē on Trisira, śailāgram peak of mountain, cikṣēpa broken to pieces, dhīmān wise, rāvaṇasutaḥ Ravana's son, niśitaiḥ sharp, śaraiḥ arrows, tat then, bibhēda broke to pieces.

Thereafter Neela hit Trisira with the peak of the mountain and Ravana's son broke the mountain into pieces with arrows.
tadbāṇaśatanirbhinnaṅvidāritaśilātalam .

savisphuliṅgaṅsajvālaṅnipapātagirēśaśiraḥ ।।6.70.22।।


bāṇaśatanirbhinnam broken by hundreds of arrows, tat thereafter, girēḥśiraḥ mountain peak, vidāritaśilātalam peak of the mountain broken, savisphuliṅgam sparks, sajvālam flames, nipapāta fell.

Hit by hundreds of arrows, the mountain peak broke into pieces of stones like sparks and flames fell from it.
tatōjṛmbhitamālōkyaharṣādvēvāntakastadā .

parighēṇābhidudrāvamārutātmajamāhavē ।।6.70.23।।


balī mighty, saḥ he, dēvāntakaḥ Devanthaka, āhavē in battle, harṣāt happy, tataḥ then, jṛmbhitam , mārutātmajam Hanuman, ālōkya observing, parighēṇa with his club, abhidudrāva assaulted.

Mighty Devanthaka, observing (Trisira's action), was happy on the battlefield, and went with his club to assault Hanuman.
tamāpatantamutplutyahanumānmārutātmajaḥ .

ājaghānatadāmūrdhnivajrakalpēnamuṣṭinā ।।6.70.24।।


tadā then, mārutātmajaḥ son of wind god, hanumān Hanuman, utpatya got up, āpatantam , tam , vajrakalpēna which was like a thunderbolt, muṣṭinā with fist, mūrdhni forehead, ājaghāna hit.

Then the son of wind god, Hanuman observing Devanthaka coming towards him, got up and hit him on the forehead with his thunderbolt like fist.
śirasipraharavanīrastadāvāyusutōbalī .

nādēnākampayaccaivarākṣasān sa mahākapiḥ ।।6.70.25।।


tadā then, vīraḥ heroic, balī strong, vāyusutaḥ son of wind god, śirasi on head, praharat blow, saḥ he, mahākapiḥ great monkey, nādēna sound, rākṣasān Rakshasas, akampayaccaiva trembled.

When the heroic and strong son of the wind god hit on the head of Devanthaka, the Rakshasas trembled by the sound of the great monkey 's blow.
muṣṭiniṣpiṣṭavibhinnamūrdhānirvāntadantākṣivilambijivvāḥ .

dēvāntakōrākṣasarājasūnurgatāsurutvyāṅsahasāpapāta ।।6.70.26।।


muṣṭiniṣpiṣṭavibhinnamūrdhā skull shattered by the blow, nirvāntadantākṣivilambijivvāḥ teeth, eyes and tongue forced out, rākṣasarājasūnuḥ son of king of Rakshasas, saḥ he, dēvāntakaḥ Devanthaka, gatāsuḥ dead, sahasā instantly, urvyām on ground, papāta fell.

Devanthaka's skull was shattered by the blow, and his teeth, eyes and tongue were forced out, the son of Rakshasa king fell dead on the ground.
tasminhatērākṣasayōdhamukhyēmahābalēsaṅyatidēvaśatrau .

kruddhastrimūrdhāniśitāgramugraṅvavarṣanīlōrasibāṇavarṣam ।।6.70.27।।


rākṣasayōdhamukhyē foremost of Rakshasa warriors, dēvaśatrau enemy of gods, mahābalē endowed with great strength, tasmin their, saṅyati in conflict, hatē killed, kruddhaḥ angry, trimūrdhā one with three heads, nīlōrasi over Neela, ugram top, bāṇavarṣam rained arrows, vavarṣa rained.

Devanthaka, the foremost of Rakshasa warriors, an enemy of gods, endowed with great strength, having been killed in the conflict, Trisira became angry and rained arrows on Neela's chest.
mahōdarastusaṅkṛddhaḥkuñjaraṅparvatōpamam .

bhūyassamadhiruhyāśumandaraṅramaśimāniva ।।6.70.28।।

tatōbāṇamayaṅvarṣaṅnīlasyōrasyapātayat .

girauvarṣaṅtaḍiccakracāpavānivatōyadaḥ ।।6.70.29।।


saḥ he, mahōdarastu at Mahodara, saṅkṛddhaḥ enraged, ramaśimān Sun god, mandaram iva springing on Mandara, parvatōpamam over the mountain, kuñjaram elephant, bhūyaḥ becoming, samadhiruhya mounted, āśu quickly, tataḥ then, nīlasya Neela's, upari chest, tōyadaḥ water, taḍiccakracāpavāni rainy cloud with lightning and rainbow, varṣam wetted, girauiva on the mountain like, bāṇamayam covered with arrows, varṣam rain, apātayat showered.

Mahodara got enraged, mounted on an elephant just as the Sun went over Mandara mountain and went for war. Then Mahodara wielding bow rained arrows, just as rainy clouds with lightning and rainbows showers rain, on the mountain like chest of Neela.
tataśśaraughērabhivarṣyamāṇōvibhinnagātraḥkapisainyapālaḥ .

nīlōbabhūvāthavisṛṣṭagātrōviṣṭambhitastēnamahābalēna ।।6.70.30।।


tataḥ then, śaraughaiḥ wetted by arrows, abhivṛṣyamāṇaḥ fully all over, kapisainyapālaḥ monkey leader, nīlaḥ Neela, vibhinanagātraḥ all limbs pierced, babhūva remained, atha and then, visṛṣṭagātraḥ limbs sunken, mahābalēna endowed with extraordinary strength, tēna by that, viṣṭambhitaḥ could not move.

Neela's body wetted by arrows all over, the limbs pierced with arrows, the monkey leader remained powerless and could not move in spite of being extraordinarily strong.
tatastunīlaḥpratilabhyasaṅjñāṅśailaṅsamutpāṭyasavṛkṣaṣaṅṇḍam .

tatassamutpatyabhṛśōgravēśōmahādaraṅtēnajaghānamūrdhni ।।6.70.31।।


tataḥ thereafter, nīlaḥtu Neela also, pratilabhyasaṅjñām regaining senses, savṛkṣaṣaṅṇḍam filled with trees, śailam mountain, samutpāṭya uprooting, tataḥ then, bhṛśōgravēśaḥ at high speed, samutpatya reaching over, tēna by that, mahōdaram Mahodara, mūrdhni forehead, jaghāna attacked.

Thereafter Neela also regained his senses and uprooting a mountain filled with trees went over Mahodara at high speed and attacked him on the forehead.
tata: ssaśailēdranipātabhagnōmahōdarastēnamahādvipēna .

vipōthitōbhūmitalēgatāsuḥpapātavajrābhihatōyathādriḥ ।।6.70.32।।


tataḥ then, śailēdranipātabhagnaḥ smashed by the impact of the mountain, saḥmahōdaraḥ that Mahodara, tēna by that, mahādvipēna along with elephant, vipōthitaḥ fell, gatāsuḥ released of life, vajrābhihataḥ hit by lightning, adriḥyathā like a mountain, bhūmitalē on ground, papāta fell.

Then smashed by the impact of the mountain, along with his elephant Mahodara's body fell to the ground. Released from life, he fell like a mountain struck with lightning.
pitṛvyaṅnihataṅdṛṣṭavātriśirāścāpamādadē .

hanūmantaṅ ca saṅkṛddhōvivyāthaniśitaiśśaraiḥ ।।6.70.33।।


triśirāḥ Trisira, pitṛvyam uncle, nihatam killed, dṛṣṭavā seeing, saṅkṛddhaḥ very angry, cāpam bow, ādadē seized, hanūmantam Hanuman, niśitaiḥ sharp, śaraiḥ arrow, vivyātha pierced.

Trisira got enraged seeing his uncle killed, seized his bow and with a sharp arrow pierced Hanuman.
sa vāyusunūḥkupitaścikṣēpaśikharaṅgirēḥ .

triśirāstaccharaistīkṣṇairbibhēdabahudhābalī ।।6.70.34।।


saḥ he, vāyusūnuḥ son of wind god, kupitaḥ in anger, girēḥ mountain, śikharam top, cikṣēpa hurled, balī mighty, triśirāḥ Trisira, tīkṣṇaiḥ sharp, śaraiḥ arrow, bahūdhā several pieces, bibhēda split into.

The son of the wind god in anger hurled a top of the mountain on mighty Trisira, who split the mountain into several pieces with an arrow.
tadvyarthaṅśikharaṅdṛṣṭavādrumavarṣaṅmahākapiḥ .

visasarjaraṇētasminrāvaṇasyasutaṅprati ।।6.70.35।।


tadā then, kapiḥ monkey, tat that, śikharam top of mountain, vyartham ineffective, dṛṣṭavā seeing, tasmin over him, raṇē battle, rāvaṇasya Ravana's, sutaṅprati over the son, drumavarṣam rain of trees, visasajja discharged.

Then seeing that the top of the mountain hurled was ineffective in that battle over Ravana's son, Hanuman discharged rain of trees.
tamāpatantamākāśēdrumavarṣaṅpratāpavān .

triśirāniśitairbāṇaiścicchēda ca nanāda ca ।।6.70.36।।


pratāpavān stupendous, triśirāḥ Trisira, ā patantam tore, tam them, drumavarṣam rain of trees, niśitaiḥ whetted, bāṇaiḥ rain, ākāśē the sky, cicchēda shattered, nanādaca roared.

Stupendous Trisira tore with his whetted arrows the rain of trees through the sky and roared.
hanūmānutōplutyahayaṅstrīśirasastadā .

vidadāranakhaiḥkruddhōnāgēndraṅmṛgarāḍiva ।।6.70.37।।


tadā then, hanumān tu Hanuman also, kruddhaḥ angry, utplutya jumping up, triśirasaḥ at Trisira, hayam horse, mṛgarāṭ lion, nāgēndram iva like lordly elephant, nakhaiḥ nails, vidadāra tore.

Then Hanuman also jumped up in anger and tore the horse off Trisira just as the lion would tear the lordly elephant with nails.
athaśaktiṅsamādāyakāḷarātrimivāntakaḥ .

cikṣēpānilaputrāyatriśirārāvaṇātmajaḥ ।।6.70.38।।


tatha in the same way, rāvaṇātmajaḥ Ravana's son, triśirāḥ Trisira, antakaḥ Death, kāḷarātrim iva like Kalaratri (Kaala, the deity presiding over the night of dissolution) śaktim javelin, samādāya seizing, anilaputrāya at the son of wind god, cikṣēpa shattered.

In the same manner, Trisira, the son of Ravana sprung up and seized a javelin, just as God of death in dark night and hurled at the son of wind god and shattered.
divaḥkṣiptāmivōlkāṅtāṅśaktiṅkṣiptāmasaṅgatām .

gṛhītvāhariśārdūlōbabhañja ca nanāda ca ।।6.70.39।।


hariśrēṣṭhaḥ best of the monkeys, divaḥ heaven, kṣiptām flung, ulkāmiva like a meteor, tāṅśaktim that javelin, asaṅgatām obstructed, gṛhītvā taking, babhañja ca snapped, nanāda ca and roared.

Hanuman, the best of monkeys, snapped the javelin flung by Trisira on him, which came down unobstructed like a meteor from heaven and the monkeys roared.
tāṅdṛṣṭavāghōrasaṅkāśāṅśaktiṅbhagnāṅhanūmatā .

prahṛṣṭāvānaragaṇāvinēdurjaladāiva ।।6.70.40।।


ghōrasaṅkāśām dreadful form, tāṅśaktim of that javelin, hanūmatā by Hanuman, bhagnām shattered, dṛṣṭavā seeing, prahṛṣṭāḥvānaragaṇāḥ all Vanaras rejoiced, jaladāḥiva like the rain clouds, vinēduḥ thundered.

Seeing the dreadful form of shattered javelin, all Vanaras rejoiced and thundered like rain clouds.
taḥkhaḍagaṅsamudyamyatriśirārākṣasōttamaḥ .

nijaghānatadāvyūḍhēvāyuputrasyavakṣasi ।।6.70.41।।


rākṣasōttamaḥ foremost of Rakshasas, triśirāḥ Trisira, tataḥ that, vyūḍhaṅ placed, samudyamya lifting up, tadā then, khaḍagam sword, vāyuputrasya into son of wind god, vakṣasi chest of, nijaghā dug into.

Trisira, the foremost of Rakshasas then lifted his sword, placed it on the chest of Hanuman and dug into it.
khaḍagaprahārābhihatōhanumānmārutātmajaḥ .

ājaghānatiśirasaṅtalēnōrasivīryavān ।। 6.70.42।।


khaḍagaprahārābhihataḥ hit by sword, vīryavān hero, mārutātmajaḥ wind god's son, hanumān Hanuman, talēna palm, tiśirasam Trisira, urasi chest, ājaghāna attacked.

Heroic Hanuman hit by Trisira, attacked him with his palm on the chest.
satalābhihatastēnasrastahastāyudhōbhuvi .

nipapātamahātējāstriśirāstyaktacētanaḥ ।।6.70.43।।


mahātējāḥ highly energetic, saḥtriśirāḥ that Trisira, tēna by that, talābhihataḥ hit by palm, srastahastāyudhaḥ weapon dropped from hand, tyaktacētanaḥ senses lost, bhuvi ground, nipapāta fell.

Trisira, a highly energetic one, hit by Hanuman with his palm, dropped the weapon from his hand, lost his senses and fell on the ground.
sa tasyapatataḥkhaṅgaṅtamācchidyamahākapiḥ .

nanādagirisaṅkāśastrāsayan sarvanairṛtā ।।6.70.44।।


risaṅkāśaḥ who resembled mountain, saḥ he, mahākapiḥ great Vanara, patataḥ falling down, tasya his, taṅkhaṅgam that sword, acchidya taking, sarvanārṛtā all those surrounded, trāsayan creating terror, nanāda roared.

Taking the sword from Trisira, as he was falling, the great Vanara who resembled a mountain roared, creating terror in all, surrounded there.
amṛṣyamāṇastaṅghōṣamutpapātaniśācaraḥ .

utpatya ca hanūmantaṅtāḍayāmāsamuṣṭinā ।।6.70.45।।


niśācaraḥ Rakshasa, taṅghōṣam that roar, amṛṣyamāṇaḥ unable to bear, utpapāta got up, utpatya jumping, hanūmantam Hanuman, muṣṭinā fist, tāḍayāmāsa struck.

Unable to bear that roar, that Rakshasa got up jumping and struck Hanuman with his fist.
tēnamuṣṭiprahōrēṇasañcukōpamahākapiḥ .

kupitaścanijagrāhakirīṭērākṣasarṣabham ।।6.70.46।।


mahākapiḥ great monkey, tēna by that, muṣṭiprahārēṇa by the hit with fist, sañcukōpa became furious, kupitaḥ ca and angry, rākṣasarṣabham bull among Rakshasas, kirīṭē crown, nijagrāha got hold of.

The great monkey hit by the fist (of Trisira) became furious and in anger he got hold of Trisira's head with crown.
sa tasyaśīrṣāṇyasināśitēnakirīṭajuṣṭānisakuṇḍalāni .

kruddhaḥpracicchēdasutō.nilasyatvaṣṭussutasyēvaśirāṅsiśakraḥ ।।6.70.47।।


kruddhaḥ enraged, saḥ he, anilasyasutaḥ wind god's son, tasya his, kīrīṭajuṣṭāni along with crown, sakuṇḍalāni and earrings, śīrṣāṇi three heads (of Vishwarupa), śakraḥ Indra, tvaṣṭuḥ Twashsta's, sutasya son's, śirāṅsiiva three heads like that, śitēna sharp, asinā cut off, pracicchēda severed.

Enraged wind god's son, cut off the three heads of Trisira adorned with earrings just as Indra cut off the heads of Vishwarupa, son of Twashta.
tānyāyatākṣāṇyagasannibhānipradīptavaiśvānaralōcanāni .

pētuśirāṅsīndraripōḥrdharaṇyāṅjyōtīṅṣimuktāniyathārkamārgāt ।।6.70.48।।


āyatākṣāṇi incongruous eyes, agasannibhāni resembling mountains, pradīptavaiśvānaralōcanāni glowing like Vyshvanara's eyes, indraripōḥ Indra's enemy, tāniśirāṅsi those heads, arkamārgāt from the path of the Sun, muktāni like pearls, jyōtīṅṣiyathā like stars, araṇyām wilderness, pētuḥ fallen.

The heads of Trisira, an enemy of Indra, resembling mountains with incongruous eyes glowing like Vyshvanara's eyes, fell into wilderness like stars fallen from the path of Sun.
tasmin nhatēdēvaripautriśīrṣēhanūmatāśakraparākramēṇa .

nēduḥplavaṅgāḥpracacālabhūmīrakṣāṅsyathōdudruvirēsamantāt ।।6.70.49।।


dēvaripau enemy of gods, tasmin his, triśīrṣē Trisira's, śakraparākramēṇa endowed with the prowess of Indra, hanūmatā Hanuman, hatē killed, plavaṅgāḥ monkeys, nēduḥ roared, bhūmiḥ earth, pracacāla shook, athō and, rakṣāṅsi Rakshasas, samantāt in all sides, dudruvirē took to their heels.

Trisira, the enemy of gods, endowed with the prowess of Indra got killed by Hanuman. The earth shook, the monkeys roared and the Rakshasas from all sides took to their heels.
hataṅtriśirasaṅdṛṣṭavātathaivacamahōdaraṅ .

hatauprēkṣayadurādharṣaudēvāntakanarāntakau ।।6.70.50।।

cukōpaparamāmarṣīmattōrākṣasapuṅgavaḥ .


triśirasaṅ Trisira, hatam killed, dṛṣṭavā witnessing, athāpi ca earlier, mahōdaram Mahodara, durādharṣau difficult to encounter, dēvāntakanarāntakau Devanthaka and Naranthaka, hatau killed, prēkṣya seeing, paramāmarṣī roared in joy, rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ Rakshasa leaders, mattaḥ Matta, cukōpa very angry.

Witnessing Trisira killed, earlier Mahodara also, Devanthaka and Naranthaka who are difficult to encounter killed, monkeys roared in joy seeing that Matta became very angry.
jagrāhārciṣmatīṅghōrāṅgadāṅsarvāyasīṅśubhāṅ ।।6.70.51।।

hēmapaṭṭaparikṣiptāṅmāṅsaśōṇitaphēnilām .

śubhām good, arciṣmatīm venerable, sarvāyasīm all powerful, hēmaparikṣiptām plated with gold, māṅsaśōṇitaphēnilām smeared with flesh and blood, virājamānām shining with lustre, vapuṣām by enemy's, śatruśōṇitaraṅjitām shining in red colour with enemy's blood, tējasā effulgent, saṅpradīptāgrām whose head has been glowing, raktamālyavibhūṣitām decorated with red flower garland s, airāvatamahāpadmasārvabhaumabhayāvahām brought terror to Airavata, Mahapadma and Sarvabhauma (three of the four elephants guarding the quarters), gadām mace, jagrāha seized hold of.

Mahaparsva seized hold of a good venerable, all-powerful mace plated with gold, smeared with flesh and blood, shining with lustre, shining red with enemy's blood, an effulgent one whose head has been glowing decorated with red flower garlands that brought terror to Airavatam, Mahapadma, and Sarvabhuama, the three elephants guarding the three of the four quarters.
gadāmādāyasaṅkṛddhōmattōrākṣasapuṅgavaḥ .

harīn samabhidudrāvayugāntānagirivajvalan ।।6.70.54।।


saṅkṛddhaḥ very furious, rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ Rakshasa leader, mattaḥ Matta, gadām mace, ādāya taking, jvalan fire, yugāntānagiriva like at the time of the end of universe, harīn monkeys, samabhidudrāva scattered.

Matta, the Rakshasa leader became very furious and took hold of the mace glowing like fire, at the time of dissolution of the universe and scattered the monkeys.
atharṣabhassamutpatyavānarōrāvaṇānujam .

mattānīkamupāgamyatasthautasyāgratōbalī ।।6.70.55।।


atha and then, balī endowed with prowess, rṣabhaḥ bull, vānaraḥ among Vanaras, utpatya springing up, rāvaṇānujam Ravana's brother, mattānīkam Mahaparsva (Mattaneekam), upāgamya coming near, tasya his, agrataḥ anger, tasthau his, tasyāgratō stood in his front.

Rshaba, the bull among Vanaras endowed with prowess, springing up came and stood in front of Mahaparsva.
taṅpurastāt sthitaṅdṛṣṭavāvānaraṅparvatōpamam .

ājaghānōrasikruddhōgadayāvajrakalpayā ।।6.70.56।।


purastāt again, sthitam standing, parvatōpamam like a mountain, vānaram Vanara, dṛṣṭavā seeing, kruddhaḥ angry, vajrakalpayā close to thunderbolt, gadayā with mace, urasi on the chest, ājaghāna hit.

Again, seeing Rshaba standing in front like a mountain, enraged Mahaparsva hit him on the chest with the mace that was like a thunderbolt.
sa tayā.bhihatastēnagadayāvānararṣabhaḥ .

bhinnavakṣāssamādhūtassusrāvarudhiraṅbahu ।।6.70.57।।


tēna by that, tayā by the, gadayā mace, abhihataḥ hit that way, saḥ he, vānararṣabhaḥ bull of Vanaras, bhinnavakṣāḥ chest broken, samādhūtaḥ moved, bahu excessively, rudhiram blood, susrāva flowed.

Hit in that way by the mace, Rshaba, bull of Vanaras, with chest broken, blood flowed excessively.
sa saṅjñāṅprāpyasucirādṛṣabhōvānararṣabhaḥ .

kruddhōvisphuramāṇauṣṭhōmahāpārśvamudaikṣata ।।6.70.58।।


vānarēśvarā Vanara chief, saḥṛṣabhaḥ that Rshaba, cirāt after long time saṅjñām consciousness, prāpya regained, kruddhaḥ angered, visphuramāṇauṣṭhaḥ lips quivering, mahāpārśvam to Mahaparsva, udaikṣata ran.

Regaining consciousness after a long time the monkey chief, Rshaba, was angry, his lips quivering as he was, ran to Mahaparsva.
sa vēgavān vēgavadabhyupētyataṅrākṣasaṅvānaravīramukhyaḥ .

samvartyamuṣṭiṅsahasājaghānabāhvantarēśailanikāśarūpaḥ ।।6.70.59।।


vēgavān endowed with speed, śailanikāśarūpaḥ of mountain like form, saḥ he, vānaravīramukhyaḥ chief of Vanaras, vēgavat quickly, abhyupētya getting up, muṣṭim fist, samvartya duly, taṅrākṣasam that Rakshasa, bāhvantarē space between two arms, sahasā forcibly, jaghāna hit.

The chief of the Vanaras, whose form was like a mountain, endowed with speed, got up quickly, duly, and forcibly hit the Rakshasa (Mahaparsva) in the space between his arms.
sa kṛttamūlassahasēvavṛkṣaḥkṣitaupapātakṣatajōkṣitāṅgaḥ .

tāṅcāsyaghōrāṅyamadaṇḍakalpāṅgadāṅpragṛhyāśutadānanāda ।।6.70.60।।


saḥ he, kṛttamūlaḥ roots severed, vṛkṣaḥiva like the tree, kṣatajōkṣitāṅgaḥ all his limbs smashed, sahasā forcibly, kṣitau broken, papāta fell, tadā then, asya his, ghōrām dreadful, yamadaṇḍakalpām which was like Lord of death 's rod, tāṅgadām that mace, āśu hold, pragṛhya seizing, nanāda roared.

Like a tree whose roots have been severed, the Rakshasa fell on the ground. Then seizing forcibly, the dreadful mace that resembled the rod of Lord of death he roared.
muhūrtamāsītsagatāsukalpaḥpratyāgatātmāsahasāsurāriḥ .

utpatyasandhyābhrasamānavarṇastaṅvārirājātmajamājaghāna ।।6.70.61।।


saḥ he, muhūrtam for a short while, gatāsukalpaḥ life gone like, āsīt seated, sahasā suddenly, sandhyābhrasamānavarṇaḥ of the colour of evening sun, surāriḥ enemy of gods, pratyāgatātmā life having restored, utpatya got up, tam him, vārirājātmajam son of waters, ājaghāna struck.

For a short while, Mahaparsva, the enemy of gods remained as if life had gone off up and struck the son of waters (Rshaba).
sa mūrbhitōbhūmitalēpapātamuhūrtamutpatyapunassasaṅjñaḥ .

tāmēvatasyādrivarādrikalpāṅgadāṅsamāvidhyajaghānasaṅkhyē ।।6.70.62।।


saḥ he, mūrbhitaḥ unconscious, muhūrtam for a while, bhūmitalē on the ground, papāta fallen, sasaṅjñaḥ regained, punaḥ again, utpatya got up, tasya his, adrivarādrikalpām which looked like rock of a foremost mountain, tām him, gadāmēva with mace, samāvidhya overcoming, saṅkhyē battlefield, jaghāna struck.

The monkey was unconscious for a while having fallen on the ground. Regaining senses, overcoming, took up the mace which looked like the rock of a foremost mountain and struck him (Mahaparsva) on the battlefield.
sātasyaraudrāsamupētyadēhaṅraudrasyadēvādhvaravipraśatrōḥ .

bibhēdavakṣaḥkṣatajaṅ ca bhūrisusrāvadhātvambhaivādrirājaḥ ।।6.70.63।।


raudrā ferocious, sā he, raudrasya in anger, dēvādhvaravipraśatrōḥ enemy of gods and brahmins, tasya his, dēham body, samupētya reaching near, vakṣaḥ chest, bibhēda split, adrirājaḥ Himalaya mountain, dhātvambhaḥ water, bhūri timid, kṣatajam with minerals, susrāva flowed.

He (Rshaba) reached the body of the ferocious enemy of gods and brahmins. He split his chest with his mace and the timid Rakshasa shed blood just as Himalaya Mountain discharges water.
abhidudrāvavēgēnagadāṅtasyamahātmanaḥ .

gṛhītvātāṅgadāṅbhīmāmāvidhya ca punaḥpunaḥ ।।6.70.64।।

mattānīkaṅmahātmānaṅjaghānaraṇamūrdhani .


mahātmā great, saḥ he, mahātmanaḥ great soul, tasya his, gadām mace, abhidudrāva went towards, bhīmām dreadful, tāṅgadām that mace, gṛhītvā taking hold, punaḥpunaḥ again and again, āvidhya pierced, raṇamūrdhani in the forefront of the battle, mattānīkam Mattanikam, jaghāna struck.

The great Rakshasa Mahaparsva went towards the mace held by Rshaba, the great soul. Taking hold of the mace, Rshaba struck the Rakshasa again and again and pierced him in the forefront of the battlefield.
sa svayāgadayābhagnōvidīrṇadaśanēkṣaṇaḥ ।।6.70.65।।

nipapātatatōmattōvajrāhataivācalaḥ .


svayā his own, gadayā mace, bhagnaḥ shattered by, saḥ he, mattaḥ Matta viśīrṇadaśanēkṣaṇaḥ whose eyes had been crushed, tadā then, vajrāhataḥ struck by lightning, acalaḥiva like a mountain, nipapāta fallen.

Shattered by his own mace, Matta (Mahaparsva), whose eyes had been crushed, had fallen like a mountain struck by lightning.
vidīrṇanayanēbhūmaugatasattvēgatāyuṣi ।।6.70.66।।

patitērākṣasētasmin vidrutaṅrākṣasaṅbalam .


gatasattvē strength gone, gatāyuṣi life ceased, vidīrṇanayanē eyes crushed, tasmin rākṣasē his Rakshasas, bhūmau ground, patitē fallen, rākṣasam Rakshasa, balam army, vidrutam ran in fear.

Strength gone, life ceased, eyes crushed, his own Rakshasas fallen on the ground, the Rakshasa army fled.
tasminnhatēbhrātarirāvaṇasyatannairṛtānāṅbalamarṇavābham .

tyaktāyudhaṅkēvalajīvitārthaṅdudrāvabhinnārṇavasannikāśam ।।6.70.67।।


rāvaṇasya Ravana's, bhrātari brother, tasmin his, hatē killed, nairṛtānām Rakshasas, arṇavābham ocean, tat balam their army, tyaktāyudham left battlefield, bhinnārṇavasannikāśam like an ocean burst into shores, kēvalajīvitārtham for the sake of their own life, dudrāva fled.

When Ravana's brother was killed, the ocean of Rakshasas left the battlefield for the sake of their own life, and it looked as if the ocean had burst into shores.
।। ityārṣēvālmīkīyēśrīmadrāmāyaṇēādikāvyēyuddhakāṇḍēsaptatitamassargaḥ ।।
