atha madhyamakakṣyāyāṅ samāgacchatsuhṛjjanaiḥ.

sa sarvānarthinō dṛṣṭvā samētya pratinandya ca৷৷2.16.27৷৷

tataḥ pāvakasaṅkāśamārurōha rathōttamam.

vaiyāghraṅ puruṣavyāghrō rājataṅ rājanandanaḥ৷৷2.16.28৷৷

Translation

atha after that, puruṣavyāghraḥ tiger among men, saḥ he, rājanandanaḥ son of the king (Rama), madhyamakakṣyāyāṅ in the middle courtyard, suhṛjjanaiḥ with friends, samāgacchat met, sarvān arthinaḥ all of them eager to see him, dṛṣṭvā having seen, samētya having met, pratinandya ca having greeted them, pāvakasaṅkāśam resembling fire, vaiyāghram covered with tiger-skin, rājatam made of silver, rathōttamam best of chariots, ārurōha mounted.

Rama, the best among men, met all his friends in the middle courtyard. Having seen them all eager to see him, he approached and greeted them. Thereafter, he mounted the best silver chariot covered with tiger-skin and glowing like fire.
