[Rama enters to the inner apartment of his mother Kausalya--informs her of his exile to the forest--lamentations of Kausalya.]

tasmiṅstu puruṣavyāghrē niṣkrāmati kṛtāñjalau.

ārtaśabdō mahān jajñē strīṇāmantaḥpurē tadā৷৷2.20.1৷৷

Translation

tadā then, puruṣavyāghrē tiger among men, tasmin that Rama, kṛtājñalau with folded palms, niṣkrāmati while (he was) leaving, antaḥpurē in the inner apartment, strīṇām women's, mahān
great, ārtaśabdaḥ cries of distress, jajñē arose.
