saḥ he (Sugriva), gṛhītacāpam stood with the bow, udāttam magnanimous, āśīviṣatulyabāṇam with sepent-like arrow, yaśasvinam illustrious, lakṣaṇalakṣitāṅgam endowed with auspicious features, avasthitam him, who stood, taṅ rāghavam that Rama, samāsādya went near, iti thus, uvāca spoke.
Duly approaching the illustrious Rama, endowed with auspicious signs, who stood with his bow and serpent-like arrows, Sugriva thus submitted:
