mahēndrahimavadvindhyakailāsaśikharēṣu ca.

mandarē pāṇḍuśikharē pañcaśailēṣu yē sthitāḥ৷৷4.37.2৷৷

taruṇādityavarṇēṣu bhrājamānēṣu sarvataḥ.

parvatēṣu samudrāntē paścimāyāṅ ca yē diśi৷৷4.37.3৷৷

ādityabhavanē caiva girau sandhyābhrasannibhē.

padmātālavanaṅ bhīmaṅ saṅśritā haripuṅgavāḥ৷৷4.37.4৷৷

añjanāmbudasaṅkāśāḥ kuñjarapratimaujasaḥ.

añjanē parvatē caiva yē vasanti plavaṅgamāḥ৷৷4.37.5৷৷

manaśśilā guhāvāsā vānarāḥ kanakaprabhāḥ.

mērupārśvagatāścaiva yē dhūmragiriṅ saṅśritāḥ৷৷4.37.6৷৷

taruṇādityavarṇāśca parvatē yē mahāruṇē.

pibantō madhumairēyaṅ bhīmavēgāḥ plavaṅgamāḥ৷৷4.37.7৷৷

vanēṣu ca suramyēṣu sugandhiṣu mahatsu ca.

tāpasānāṅ ca ramyēṣu vanāntēṣu samantataḥ৷৷4.37.8৷৷

tāṅstāṅ stvamānaya kṣipraṅ pṛthivyāṅ sarvavānarān.

sāmadānādibhi: ssarvairāśu prēṣaya vānarān৷৷4.37.9৷৷

Translation

mahēndrahimavadvindhyakailāsaśikharēṣu ca on the peaks of Mahendra, Himavan, Vindhya and Kailasa mountains, pāṇḍuśikharē on the white peak, mandarē of Mandara, pañcaśailēṣu on the five mountains, yē who, sthitāḥ ever residing, samudrāntē on the shores of the sea, sarvata: all over, bhrājamānēṣu on the lustrous, taruṇādityavarṇēṣu colour of the rising Sun, parvatēṣu on mountains, paścimāyām western, diśi direction, yē those, sandhyābhrasannibhē like the clouds of the setting Sun, ādityabhavanē the mountain where the Sun rises, girau caiva even mountains, bhīmaṅ fierce, haripuṅgavāḥ best of monkeys, padma tālavanam in the garden of Padmatala, saṅśritāḥ staying, añjanē parvatē on the Anjani mountain, añjanāmbudasaṅkāśāḥ resembling black clouds, kuñjarēndrapratimaujasaḥ strong as best elephants, yē plavaṅgamāḥ the monkeys, vasanti dwelling, manaśśilāguhāvāsāḥ residing at Manas-silva (a red pigment of arsenic) mountain caves, kanakaprabhāḥ shining like gold in complexion, vānarāḥ monkeys, mērupārśvagatāścaiva and those who have gone to Mount Meru, yē those, dhūmragirim at Dhumra mountain, śritāḥ staying, mahāruṇē on Maharuna, parvatē on the mountain, mairēyaṅ madhu liquor of Maireya, pibantaḥ drinking, bhīmavēgāḥ of terrific speed, yē those, taruṇādityavarṇāḥ of the colour of the rising Sun, plavaṅgamāḥ monkeys, suramyēṣu on beautiful spots, sugandhiṣu of the fragrant, mahatsu on the great, vanēṣu ca and in the forests, tāpasānāṅ ca ramyēṣu at the delightful hermitages of ascetics, samantataḥ all over, vanāntēṣu allover the forest, pṛthivyām on the earth, tāṅ stān respective ones, sarvavānarān all the monkeys, sāmadānādibhiḥ using all means (sama and dana), savai: by all, āśuprēṣaya send for, vānarān the monkeys, kṣipram at once, tvam you, ānaya bring.

'Send for the monkeys residing at the five mountains of Mahendra, Himavan, Vindhya, Kailasa and the white-peaked mount Mandara; those monkeys residing on the western mountains, on the sea shore and on mount Udaya shining like the rising Sun; monkeys like dark clouds shining in the twilight Sun; those at the fierce Padmatala garden and those at the Anjana mountain who resemble dark clouds like collyrium
and are as strong as elephants; those monkeys of golden complexion residing at the red arsenic mountain caves beside mount Meru; those on mount Meru and Dhumra who are of bright red colour like the rising Sun drinking liquor Maireya; the monkeys of terrific speed at mount Maharuna; those staying at the delightful hermitages in the forests, and those living on the ground all must be cajoled and persuaded to report at once.
